Mac is fine for people who doesn't know how to use a computer properly, I may even recommend it to my mother. But I don't understand how a self-proclaim geek prefers a Mac

I prefer freedom and I like to use any hardware I want in my computer, even it means downloading drivers.

I never have problem with driver, or wifi settings with Windows or Linux

I wish all mac are burnt in a land fill so I don't need to deal with those stupid ._DS_STORE files on my NAS drive.

Ummm... i don't quite understand where all these hate comments are coming from, she is quite chamring if somewhat annoying. Well my brief experience of mac was when I walked into a shop and looked at a mac. Tbh it made me violently sick, the programs were on this little stupid abr and everything was really shiny and stupid. I'm nto going to support my claim with any statistics but I can say that windows is definately better, end of story.

In general, to operate a PC to it's full capabilities, it requires the ability to actually not be retarded, and to read the fucking manual, abbreviated, as, RTFM. Go play on your Macs. Say "Vista" is a copy, either way Windows is still and will always be the dominating OS. Have a nice day.

If Mac OS X weren't worth using, why would so many people be trying to crack it work with PC systems? There's been a huge effort on the part of the PC community to get Mac OS X running on PCs. They want Mac OS X, not that Windows shit. Dell even stated that it would gladly drop Windows and sell Mac OS X machines if Apple would allow them to license Mac OS X. Your statement that Mac OS X can run on "just about any PC" shows us how clueless YOU are.

I primarily use a stylus for all but gaming, and my Waccom functions the same on both Mac and PC. You can just 'not do updates', but only for so long before it starts to catch up to you. It's a real balancing act. And then there's Vista. WTF? There's no excuse anymore for the crap Microsoft tries to put us through.

The good thing about ending your automatic updates is that you can do 'em yourself later, doesn't mean you just won't do your updates. It's been like 5 years since xp got out so I think it's about time for microsoft to come up with a Windows upgrade, don't you think? I know that the word 'upgrade' is blasphemy for macintosh but believe me it is a wonderful concept.

If you're using a mac's excuse for a mouse for your gaming you'll probably lose because you have no alternative firing mode whatsoever. I personally prefer a mouse for anything but yeah a stylus works better if you want to draw.

I don't game with a Mac, because I only use one at work. But if I did... then I'd use the same USB mouse I'd use for PC gaming. Peripherals are pretty standard now. However I think Mac's 'Mighty Mouse' is a pretty slick excuse for a mouse. I've never gamed with it, but I it could kick the butt off most mice in its price range.

As far as I'm aware, you've always been able to right click in Mac OS X. I've been using a Logitech USB mouse with my Mac since 2005. It works just the same as it would on any PC. In fact, I have Exposé set to my middle mouse button, so I can switch to any open window with a single click. Do a little research before making such ignorant claims.

Your idea of an "upgrade" is spending hundreds of dollars on a "new" version of Windows, adding a couple hundred dollars worth of hardware and ending up with an operating system that has more problems and doesn't perform as well as it's predecessor.

We spend $120 on a new version of OS X, buy no extra hardware and it actually performs better than it's predecessor.

We pay $120 for upgrades with 300+ new features. I challenge anyone to find 300+ new features in Vista. You're ignorant to assume that Leopard doesn't have numerous improvements over Tiger. I don't know where you Wintards got the idea that our OS upgrades are the equivalent to your "service packs". I know you're not used to getting upgrades so quickly, but it doesn't take seven years for Apple to make significant improvements to Mac OS X.

To be more accurate, this discussion was really more of a Windows/OSX comparison rather than Mac/PC. Not that hardcore geeks eschew Windows entirely, but if you REALLY want to tweak things and play with your system, you can't forget other options like Linux or BSD. And what do you know, that's what OSX is built on. It's quickly becoming the developer's OS of choice.
