They're probably not doing cheat curls for bicep strength, thus little attention is paid to the actual curling technique. Considering the comments of the cameraman is "Use those hips!" I'd guess they're doing the movement to develop hip strength, so in otherwords, doing the eccentric portion strictly is unimportant.

I love partial training and cheating, but that`s is just plain stupid. At least you could do the exentric part a little better.
