what flux brand are you using? im using all spec's and it evaporates with a my heat gun or my solder iron. sometimes if i apply flux and wait soe seconds its already gone.
There is one MAJOR problem with this technique.... when you said to go back and forth over the pins several times, this can and WILL cause over heating of the chip and solder...
you americans and your pronunciation of "solder". how bizarre. sodder? sadder? no, it's SOLder. sodder solder sodder solder. honestly how did this catch on?
nice

eddiea6987 6 months ago

No its wont have connections between the tips. The solder will flow evenly under the pins. Just try before U open your bad mouth.

I must be a moron....doesn't that end up creating an electrical connection between all the pins?

Doesn't This solder all the pins together they way he just did that?
Wemee1978 1 year ago
@Wemee1978 No, the solder disperses and solders each pin to their respective pad.

Its better and easier to use a proper reflow tip (also called bath tip) which has a concave hole to hold solder in.
If I used the method in the video i'd shift pads
grogyan 1 year ago
@grogyan No need for that kind of tip at all, stick to using the one for this type of job,a chisel tip.
Then just slide it from one end to the other and that's basically it.

simon, i think its the resin inside the solder, its normal, as long as your cleaning afterwards and using flux i dont think its much of a problem.

Why does it turn yellow? I hate that. When Im soldering I always get that, then I just give up.... Is there any kind of flush that wont do that?
