Almost every relationship goes through a honeymoon phase. When the entities in the relationship start takeing one another for granted, relationships suffer. The video didn't cause the family to depart from the church it was the first big degredation that led to it. Jamil and Dallas are travelling missionaries. Not bums needing to be cleaned up and saved.

Craig was saying that the world would view the things that the church was doing as something an idiot would do, like letting strangers live with you or giving your car away. I hope that people see the things I do and wonder why I would do something so crazy that it appears idiotic. A perfect time to witness is when someone wonders why you are doing something extreme for God.
