If there are not 3 jokers, with holes in them, and double stick tape involved, I am completley dumbfounded.

Here is how I think that the trick is done:

There are three jokers, 2 guarentee jokers, and one normal joker, each with holes in the middle. The normal joker has double stick tape on the back of it. When he is done shuffling the cards, the setup is, the 8 of diamonds on top of the deck, and one of the two guarentee jokers with the hole face up second from the top. When he places the cards on, the 2 jokers stick together because of the double stick tape, leaving 1 joker, the selection, and joker.
