  • Love the dash 8, the noise is a one of a kind! Hopefully I will fly the dash 8 100, 200, 300 or 400, I dont mind!:D Great video

  • Do you listen what airline staff tell you, at the beginning of the flight, about electric appliances...??? Afterward do have a smoke in the lavatory???

  • If your really hear, they say electric applances WITH radio transmitter.

  • @radeonplus Ou right, and a smoking in the lavatory is not okay but barbique is. Last 200 times when I have been flying word 'radio transmitter' is never said.

  • @2Moukkaa

Dude, even the pilots themselves often film in the cockpit. There is nothing wrong with using a camera.

  • @ballebanan Two wrong does not equal one right.

  • @2Moukkaa cameras use batteries they don't have a radio frequency so they don't interfere with any of the flight controls or data.

  • @2Moukkaa I have seen thousands of videos of planes taking off and landings, and have done many of them myself, and no problems shown to the aircraft equipment, no people were harmed.

  • @2Moukkaa FAIL

  • All Dash 8's sound alike

  • @MrKoreyC thats not true... ive only been on the -100 and Q400 and they definitely sound very different. i actually like the 100 better LOL

  • amazing short take off! and very nice video ;)

  • @tomdefsxfan Short but normal.

  • nice video :)

  • wow not even like a 1000 feet wow!

  • I have never been too fond of turboprops - i prefere jet airliners by far, though i havent been on a turboprop before and i will be going on a DeHavilland Dash 8 in a few weeks, after watching this vidio im kinda looking forawrd to it cheers :D

  • The wing inspection light is mounted on the wrong side of the nacelle Lol.

  • I fly very often but I usually fly with a320's. I ve never flown with a turboprop. The smallest aircraft i've ever flown is avro rj100.

  • the town in the bahamas where im from has only a 3000ft runway with bushes very close on either side. The pilots normaly hold the brake and gas up then lets loose. The effect is like warp speed from star trek as the close bushes blur when the dash 8 takes off. Also landing at this airport is a thrill whn reverse thrust is applied.Once the trolley at the back galley came loose...flew to the front of the cabin and injured the FA.they had to fly in another FA for the return flight.

  • i never liked turboprops until i flew the dash=8 from LGA to Philly

  • nice.. I love the dash 8. I fly very often with them. check out my 2 videos of dash 8-100 landings

  • i love being a passenger on the dash 8, especially on the shorter runways, when they put the brake on and gives full throttle i always imagine that the pilot is trying to do a burn-out. :-)

  • also dash 8's arent bad

  • In the end of the movie he feathers the propellers. It means he twist the blade to take a bigger bite of the air and the RPM drops, but the utilization of available power stays pretty much the same. Feathering is cool stuff.

  • don't they feather the propellers when they taxi?

  • Yes they do it to get high rpm during takeoff. What I meant was that they reduce RPM and increase the bite when they are in the air. :)

  • twin otters are better

  • At STOL, but there not as comfortable, right?

  • one of my fav aircrafts......

  • I love taking off in Dash 8s. The acceleration is freakin great!

  • They get up and GO! I love the prop sound...

  • Super sound and video, far above the average video quality you get to see on Youtube.

  • my favorite plane to fly on :)

  • Better than a low-wing turboprop, you get a much better view down. Comfortable seating, too, better than on a 747.

  • dang that takeoff was fast as heck.

  • Full Throttle. I flew in atr 42 500 and the atr 72 500 and they are both fast planes also

  • i LOVE the humms and buzzes of a powerful turboprop. beautiful video, thanks for posting!

  • There's nothing like the punch of a turboprop

  • I Miss the Old Dash 8's, Especially as I have flown in the Q300 in flybe.

  • That takeoff was incredibly fast!!

    turboprops are incredible!!

  • what an acceleration and fast take off..

  • nice prop by your head....

  • beautifull country:-)

  • Dash 8's are great planes, and although they have very good short runway performance, they don't actually meet the minimum STOL requirements (the old Dash 7's did).

  • nice video dude..but whenever i fly..and on any aircraft those power downs always freak me out :| lol

  • They scare me too when they do that! It makes my stomach drop!

  • issnt that Widerøe?

  • Yes it is. Såklart

  • I love the sound the dash 8 makes at :25. Its one of the best things I Iove about it. Take offs are nice too. Just if you hate air turbulance stay on something bigger like the A320 or 737.

  • I flew on a dash 8 earlier today

    the noise is magical

  • @oreoweb6 I always like to travel with turbo propeller planes. I don't care about the turbulance. I once travelled with a smaller Dornier too. It was like a sky bicycle. :-)

  • @hrbear I would love to fly one of those. Maybe thats why i love having a box fan on all time ;-)

  • @oreoweb6 If you like that sound listen to a Saab 340 engine! (think that sound on steroids x100)

  • @oreoweb6 Why would you ever say "Air" turbulence .. no one in the industry says "Air turbulence" - just "Turbulence"

Wow don't ever join the aviation community .. you're an idiot.

  • @matthmatthmatth You didnt have to call him and idiot, and second that comment is 2 years old.

  • @matthmatthmatth thanks for flying the friendly skies :-)

  • That's a normal procedure for a turboprop at take off - even on short runways. During the aircraft runs up, the brakes have to be set. After having enough thrust, the Pilots reset the brakes and the Plane just needs about 60-70% of runway length, it usually needs!

  • You never take off with an aircraft when the engine oil is to cold. On cold airfields in Norway warming up may take some time. After a while when the engine gets warm, you can hear the pilot revving up while holding the brakes down to get enough pull from the enginges ( runways are REALLY short in some of these airfields :) )

  • Checking insruments, asking tower for permission and whatever.

  • I guees it was waiting for permission to fly.

I have flyed whit this plane to!

  • On airports like Brønnøysund, Mo I Rana, Mosjøen, etc, aircrafts are not waiting for permission to fly. Aircrafts are given "runway free" when they're taxing out on the runway for takeoff, so they can take off whenever they want to.

  • Jobber du som AFIS-fullmektig?

  • "Assistent".

  • He got a position and hold possibly.

  • i remember flying on a dash 8 last summer. boy was that fun. only thing is flights are so slow lol. but it was different and fun. I didnt like sitting next to those huge props though.

  • I am gonna go on a Dash-8 Bombardier Q400 in 4 days. Check my vids of takeoff, i'll post my new ones when i go back home

  • Love that sound! it's reminding me of the old HS748, operated by West Air Sweden until April 2007...

  • kult:D ser kult ut og fly med dash 8 :P

  • muy buen video y un exelente dia para volar

  • I was flying with ATR before and it's sucks

    dash 8 a bit better I believe

  • that looks more like rockhampton airport

  • cool video, atr 72 is better plane tho!! : )

  • The ATR is a stone in comparison to the flightperformance of the dash 7 and dash 8!!!!

  • The ATR is a stone in comparison to the flightperformance of the dash 7 and dash 8!!!!

  • Do you mean the propel? It has happen that they have sliced through the plane, but no one was sitting next to them, so no one got injured, fortunated. Thank God...

Anyway, I'd have touch a propel, but the engines was turned off then.

  • imagen if those things going thru the plane those things are 1000x shaper than a sword i hate sitting next to them

  • encrible...

  • Good take off!
