  • that looks fun. Good job.

  • Thanks for posting this good info!

I'm wondering if the Harbor Freight solar panels are any good. The price is right but how about their output?

    Thanks again.

  • @scottruthven1 I wouldnt get the harbor freight panels. They dont last, for the same price you can get an 80watt mono panel from ebay.

They are still putting out for me. Work in cloudy weather, downside about them is they are heavy. The best panel I have so far is the Sharp 80W. very light weight puts out during cloud cover. Single wafers put out better on full sun, last longer.

The sunforce panels got some moisture in them and froze, 2 failing in low light conditions. UV light is starting to crack the plastic, discolor the PVC stand.

  • If you feed them table scraps, they'll get spoiled. :-)

  • Great Video

  • Don't have any kitchen scraps around here.... They all go to the chickens LOL

  • I'm in Oregon, we have giant nightcrawlers here too- If I don't get all the leaves raked up I can go out at night and hear them pulling the dry leaves down into the ground. Flip on a light and they all slither back underground immediately. Fascinating, but kinda creepy. First time I witnessed it I was a little hesitant to get off of the concrete walk, LOL

  • Why worms? Just for composting your kitchen garbage? Or are you going to use them for fishing bait?

My compost bins are loaded with worms, they burrow down into the area of the bin with the temp that is most comfortable for them. They avoid high heat, active composting areas. When its cold, they are a lot deeper in the pile. I do put meat byproducts in mine, the worms make it disappear. A week ago we had 12-19 degree weather, today its 60. Dug down into the pile, worms galore...

  • The worms are easy access, watering feeding, temperature - moisture control

etc. They need turning for air also.

    Very sensitive animals...

  • how warm do you have to keep the worms? couldnt you keep them in the crawlspace of your home...and keep the above freezing?
