I cannot THANK you "ENOUGH!!!" Why wouldn't Apple TELL us in their many books(which I bought) or to their help staff() I spoke to a really good Supervisor tech who actually "enabled" iCloud on my Mac. I was already guided into setting it up and "it" wasn't at all! I LOST every precious photo I ever had on the phone!!
BTW,there's another step besides "Reset". If you "don't disable Photo Stream on the Mac also, the Reset won't remove pics from the mac. How can I ever thank you enough?
GO to settings > iCloud >Photo Stream > then turn the slider off. You will get a warning that all photo stream photos will be deleted from your iPhone! Just switch it off, then on again and they will all be gone!
@kevjulie2 That works but only if you have one device. If you have multiple devices like iPhone, iPad and Apple TV... the other devices will sync them back to the PhotoStream.
you neglected in the clip from what i saw to also tell everyone they had to turn share on and off on the devices for them all to disappear, i think that is the reason some say it didn't work.
Thank you for this though, as it enable me to work the last bit out
@RobertPoundMagician In the longer version I explained that. That's why i alos linked the longer version. Most people only have 1 or 2 devices so it just works. In my case I have 8 devices so yeah i discovered that really quickly you need to turn it off on all the devices. Thanks
I found an easier way go to setting iCloud then photo stream then turn it off and it will tell you of you that turning it off will delete photo stream pictures click yes and done
IT WILL NOT DELETE YOUR camera roll
THUMBS THIS UP SO PEOPLE CAN SEE I DID THIS ON MY IPHONE 3GS
I just want to see if I understand this. If I delete all my photos on PhotoStream the album gets empty. However, will my pictures from the CameraRoll that were also on PhotoStream get deleted?
@AnaBowLover24 I know you figured it out but I'll say just in case someone else reads this. Camera Roll and Photostream are separate so your camera roll photos will be ok. Thanks
@docrock808 thanks! question. if you reset photostream, all the pictures gets taken off of the devices [photostream] box, but will all the photos currently on your iPhone camera roll get pushed back up into the cloud?
I done exactly what you said, i didn't get any error messages but the pictures are all still on my ipod.. does doing what you describe remove pictures from idevices or is my ipod just angry at me??
@davepalmer5 What "don't" work nearly 13K people got it to work If you look at the long version I go step by step so you can see the before and after. You prolly missed a step somewhere.
@emiljan2281 what do you mean "how about windows"? This is a website, goto Internet Explorer and browse to icloud.com and do exactly what the guy shows in the video.
Every time I click on reset photo stream it says there's a connection error. It's been doing this for a couple days. Do u have any advice to how I could fix this? Thanks!
@MrJontje If it didn't work for you it mean somewhere you missed a step. Click the link in the video to the more detailed version and try follow that way.
This specific implementation of iCloud is perhaps the most difficult to understand. As noted, PhotoStream is foremost a method of moving photos you take with an Apple mobile device, to other Apple devices. During the move, they are temporarily stored and displayed within iCloud, but then disappear after 30 days or when 1,000 photos have been exceeded. Knowing this may help understand how "delete" works.
On your Mac, you can clear cached photos from the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture by turning off Photo Stream and then optionally turning it back on. You can do this in each application by visiting Preferences > Photo Stream.
cont'd If you had Automatic Import enabled in your Photo Stream settings, your Photo Stream photos were also imported to your iPhoto or Aperture Library, and will remain after you disable Photo Stream. If you would like to delete any of these photos from your library, you can to do so manually any time you like.
@FEROCIOUZ After resetting your Photo Stream, you can also remove any photos that have been downloaded to your device or computers:
On your iOS device, you can remove photos from the Photo Stream view by turning off Photo Stream and then optionally turning it back on. You can do this at Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream.
If you added any Photo Stream photos to other albums or the Camera Roll on your iOS device, you can locate and delete these photos manually, if desired.
thank you!
