  • British starved millions in India. This caller is a cunt!

  • Goerge galloway what can you say about the man.

We all have to answer to the high heid yin and george being catholic, well I dont think a blessing from the pope or an irish child buggering priest will save him.

  • I think people shud just mind there own business about iran.Ive seen demstrators being battered senseless in london. so it is just hypocracy. the demonstrations are being stirred up by the whiteman.even if they still succeed in ousting the government. duznt mean the whiteman will attack them to seaze there assets.

  • Eh yes, I remember the newspaper salesman assaulted by an officer, it was on Sky news repeatedly for several consecutive days, which surely undermines your claim that the western media only focuses on Iranian internal conflict. Anyway this debate is going nowhere, I'd just like to reiterate, contrary to the views and conspiracy theories of George, I happen to believe that their is a serious degree of oppression and police brutality taking place in Iran which has now digressed into an autocracy

  • Of course it was, and I'm not denying there is repression in Iran, as there is in other countries. But that killing was not reported outside the UK, unlike repression in Iran, why?

  • WE'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS!!!!! Look Im going to put forward this concept one more time to you and then I will officially give up!! I mean really, the more I talk to you the more I can see why an ill educated demagogue like galloway would appeal to you. The volatile situation in Iran is the source of significant media interest and attention due to the particularly fragile state of the middle East in this present political climate. Not to mention its egregious leader and his provocative views.

  • Ok then, if you are so worried about human rights in the middle east, let me tell you Israel has arrested Mordechai Vanunu for the horrible crime of having a love affair with a Norwegian woman. Have you seen Israeli police smashing down gay protesters? Have you heard provocative views from Livni, Peres and others? My point, and like you, this is the last time I'll make it, is that you have double standards when it comes to freedom/repression.

  • Ok, I know I said my last retort would be my last, but I cant let you off with that. Israel was repeatedly in the news this time last year for their disproportionate response to the Hamas missile attacks. It was criticized vehemently by all British media outlets (with the possible exception of the BBC) There was a panorama episode not so long which focused entirely on the occupation of the West bank and assessed the concept Is Israel a racist state?? Hardly double standards,

  • Look your obviously a devout Galloway admirer, but please open your eyes, pay attention and get abandon this unproductive conspiracy theorist down with the west agenda, time to grow up. Stop watching Press TV and imbuing this overtly anti-Zionist agenda. Its funny but you like Galloway (coincidently!!) seem incapable of discussing Iran without Condemning Israel. its almost like the Iranian government are paying Galloway wages or something!!;)

  • No, my point is that the focus is always on Iran, never on West-back oppressive regimes, or like in this case, on an apparently democratic state which plays dirty. BTW - I'm not in any conspiracy theory, nor have I pointed anything that can be described as that. But you failed to comment on the repression of Vanunu, why? It's ok, let's finish the discussion here.

  • Agreed, farewell.

  • The situation with the newspaper sale-man was a disgrace, but it was also an isolated incident, in addition the victim had underlying medical conditions. Name me one other victim who was killed as a result of British police brutality last year. The officer involved was dismissed immediately and his actions condemned by the metropolitan commissioner, a subsequent review of crowd control techniques ensued. In contrast, countless Iranians have died as a result of Government enforced oppression.

  • I think that repression against the persistent denial of universal suffrage and the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians who are simply exercising their democratic right is slightly more serious than the events in Greece and Denmark. I think also that given how volatile and fragile the entire middle east region is at the moment, the intensity of media attention on Iran is justified. I implore you to think more about your comments and not be swayed by the mendacity of this demagogue.

  • Don't insult. I agree Iran and Denmark can't be compared. But I can give you examples of newspapers getting closed, demonstrators being shot, etc., all in the EU. Remember that newspaper salesman getting killed in the G20 march? So my point is: why are the media reporting 24x7 about repression in Iran and don't ask why are people being repressed in EU? Meanwhile Australia considers using a filter to block some websites, the same filter the Chinese Government uses. Look around you.

  • Galloway works for PressTV (OpressTV) which is controlled by the Iranian government

  • I allowed you back...

We all know PressTV is funded by the Iranian Government. We also know the entire media in the Western World is run by a few, very rich people, whose interests have nothing to do with those of the majority of the people.

    Cheers to Latvia.

  • thanks.

i disagree about the media in the western world.

while it's true that many big news agencies are owned by rich people, but definately not the entire media.

otherwise how would you explain all the shows that George Galloway is on?

in the west no one can ban anyone from expressing views. the internet is completely open, unlike what's happening in many of the regimes that Galloway supports

  • I can tell you newspapers have been shut down in my country, which is in EU like yours. Italy and Australia are considering banning some websites. And don't forget it's not only "regimes that Galloway supports" where the internet is restricted. Internet is very restricted in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, regims that Obama and Bush and the EU support.

  • yeah but the difference with Galloway is that he actually justifies some of those restrictions.

i heard him talking about Hugo Chavez who closed down all the radio stations who spoke against him and Galloway justified his actions.

I'm sure that in the west no one is worried about writing whatever they want on the internet.

you're not scared that you'll be arrested for it.

but that is the situation in opressive countries.

bloggers are arrested just for expressing their opinion

  • Be careful with your sources, because what you said about Chávez is simply false. Those stations were operating with a license. The license expired and it was not renewed. And I'm telling you, newspapers in the EU have been shut down by so called democratic Governments and people working there were arrested.

You're right, Western leaders don't justify restrictions, they simply look the other way and don't face facts.

  • no I heard Galloway himself in his show in presstv takling about how Chavez closed down a station and Galloway was trying to justify this action.

i heard him say it a few months ago on the real deal

  • I know you really dislike Galloway, you and I have had arguments time ago and now again, so don't really understand why you see him on PressTV and listen to his radio show. Anyway, in this case, could it be because that station blatantly supported a failed coup d'etat against him? What would happen in France if one station called for people to rebel against Sarkozy? They would be put in front of a firing squad.

  • i consider myself a fan of Galloway since i watch and listen to a lot of his stuff. but i do disagree with a lot of what he says and at times i'm angry at him for the stuff he says.

that radio station in Venezuela simply voiced its opposition to Chavez and they got closed for that.

Galloway himself called people to rebel against Tony Blair, did anyone do anything to him?

can you imagine a public figure in, say, Syria openly saying anything against the government there?

  • I don't know that specific case, but I can tell you part of the Venezuelan media supported a coup d'etat against Chávez. OAS members in France who rose up against Government were executed.

  • yeah!! And here I was thinking that the BBC was funded by every tax paying citizen in the UK and monitored (Like all media institutions) by Of-com, an independent and non profitable broadcasting assessment organization. Try not to devote your entire political and philosophical outlook of the world on the teachings of a duplicitous, demagogical rat like Galloway and grow up dip-shit.

  • Be careful with your language. I'm just drawing an analogy. Repression in Iran is denounced 24x7, repression in Copenhagen, and in Greece, etc., is silenced.

  • To be fair, I would consider rolling "The ScUmN" up and bashing Gary to death withn it.

  • How things man!! :D

  • oi oi mate :D just showing my distaste here for people who read their toilet paper. Got back off holiday yesterday hows you?

  • ..was catching up on the Eastend there hahah, I lived in E12.. (not for long though, too many Irish crims that would give a man representing an ethnic minority a bad name) :P , I just dealing with the chaos here, as I said to juggs, the global cooling lol, I understand LTD slip diff in the ice now.. had the car out, no ABS, no traction control & a locked diff on a highway of ice, man, never again, was like trying to op a tanker in bad seas.. you all ready 4Kringle ?

  • I was doing 5 miles an hour all the way to the shops yesterday for a pint of milk taking no chances, annoying boy racers left right and centre.

The pressies have been bought and the bank emptied, now it's just a matter of throwing out the expensive wrapping paper, forgetting toys exist after 12 seconds and falling asleep as soon as possible with the lights dimmed and something on the TV to keep the kids entertained 'till bedtime (which would be 1pm if I had my way) ;)

  • I lowered the car during the yr, cant put the chains on!! man, the back end of an e30 sport, 2 way diff, on ice, epic.. try bringing out the 320i with a factory setting :O it turned into sailing a yacht! :P Great to have finished a few days ahead, gives you more time to imagine the post mortems & resolutions for the new yr haha, ;) I assume some late night webbing will be a garuntee/ :) (any sign of sean?
