  • Buenisimo!!!!!!!

  • Cool music and nice camera work! :-)

  • @JohnLRice Thanks man! :)

  • @HarriL Very cool song, John, attracts very good. Do not know how many times I have listened to this song here. But it is a part. Damn, I'm crazy

  • @gaujon Hahaha, thank you very much! Glad to know this :)

You should've been in Trondheim last weekend when I was playing my tracks live! :)

  • recycle with your own samples then import, I got ESX first, and I found it to be quite limiting with only 2 KB parts, got EMX next, you really do need both... But all that aside, as someone has already said Harri you really have mastered those tribes, always loved ya style and ya videos as well man ! I haven't touched mine for 2 years as I've been getting my head around logic but would love to do some type of show where by ableton is triggering pattern change messages to all my machines... ?

  • Great idea to try it outside! I can almost imagine riding in a helicopter over a beautiful mountainous region or riding in a speed boat over the waves in the Atlantic. Very nice, chill beat, dude!

  • awesome stuff HarriL...you've mastered the Electribes! I'm wondering if you make your own samples away from the ESX or do you use basic waves with effects, modulation etc? I found the EMX a bit limiting with the synth section so am looking at complementing it with the ESX.

  • @buchanan82 thanks!

I cut and record everything on my computer and then transfer the ready samples

over to the ESX via SmartMedia™ :)

The EMX has a very limited synth section but it's not a bad thing at all. It's all about creativity when dealing with limitations like that.

Each new synth is just an added flavour to the mix, but the basic recipe is done with the ESX & EMX combo.

The ESX as a sampler is nothing groundbreaking, but it works well with the EMX :)

  • Thanks...you definately seem quite happy with the EMX as a synth as I notice you use it more than the ESX.

Wehn you mention "cut and record", are you referring to sampling softsynths?

Keep the videos coming, very inspiring.

  • @buchanan82 I Try to use both of the machines equally, but the EMX always steals the show. :)

With cut and record I mean playing some old records, vinyl, cd or mp3 and finding good sounding parts. I cut them so that they loop. And I actually a very small portion of the sound as a stab or as a special effect type of sound.

I don't like to use long samples of anything someone else made because it just doesn't feel right.

Trim out 90% of the sample + reverse + filter + add FXs = new sounds :)

  • Awesome tune, awesome guy, I'm quite a big fan of your productions :D Merry christmas!

  • @srr560 thank you very much! Really? Great to hear that someone likes my stuff

enough to be a fan! :)

Merry christmas and a happy new year!

  • Mandou bem !!!!!

  • Dude, those are some sweet phones!

  • Very very nice as ever ;-)

  • Great tune!

  • @avelinoherrera thanks :)

    I'm glad you like it.

  • so it was not working on batteries? im sorry i dont have a 300 mile long extension lead.

  • Why did I sell my EMX, I want it back so bad :(

  • Great Live!!!

  • @totakto Thanks :)

  • Summer is so over isn't it? Really a lovely camera too. It takes some stellar video.

  • @syzygywell yeah, seems so :)

I agree, both of the cameras are very good. Not using them here as much as I should. They should be moving all around the place and not just sit there stationary.

  • dude! what headphones are those!???

  • @MrPhantomtwin Hey, they are Sony MDR-XD400!

  • Nicely done, but it would be nice to see you do a little improve or live solo work in your tracks to liven it up a bit.

  • that is a very nice recording and cool feature that u build up a setup outside!! big thump up for that project!! autumn-flair...

  • @xdeville1 thanks man! It was a fun thing to try. I'll definitely do it again for some video :)

  • this is cool!

    I using electribe sx too.

    listen my remix prease.

  • (Why are you using the phone outs? I think the line outs are better)

  • @w0lf4c3 Haha, I was waiting for someone to comment on that.

I'm not sure why I plugged it into the headphone jack to be honest.

It's true that the line out is better for recording and the Headphone output has a slight noise going on in there. It doesn't really bother me here since this is a test run. When I get a better solution for recording the sound i'll do it in stereo and not in mono like i did here. Btw. I'm using my laptops mic in to capture the sound. How low can you get :)

  • @HarriL Nice work:)

BTW sadly i had to sell my EMX because the crisis :( I think i may not allow it to buy a new one soon...

  • wow!

  • Now that is what I call a studio with a view. Was it really only 10 degrees out when you recorded this video.

  • @mattsynth Heh, maybe 13 or something. It was 10 degrees when i was editing this and figuring out what to call this project :)

  • @mattsynth And it was also enough for the revolution to go out of tune. I had to correct it quite a bit before i recorded! :)
