  • put the tv on ebay if you dont want it, im willing to pay 60 dollars to find one like that! lol

  • @SpeakerFreak95 If you're serious, it's yours! $60 plus $20 shipping.

  • @bbishoppcm cool!

  • I'm afraid i will face this moment here where i live too.

I'm feeling lucky we still have Analog and Digital Transmissions,oh well, the Analog is supposed to stop in a while as the Digital just started.

  • On this video you do not have a cable?

  • Nicely done. It is appreciated. Gee, I wonder what I'm going to do with my 33 battery operated portable mini TVs I've been collecting. Bah!

  • Sad analog is gone :-(

  • @hilarioph not for me :)

  • We didnt have to do anything, we had DIRECTV as of the moment of this transition.

  • I have that clock too.

  • This whole thing pisses me off. Now my portable tv's don't work and it's not like I can take a converter box with me unless they make one small and battery operated.

  • hey hope you didint throw it out when you said its useeless

  • March 1, 1954 - June 12, 2009

Such a sad moment in history.

Why did they have to cut analog anyway.

RIP analog TV, you will never be forgotten.

  • Over here in New Zealand Analog Television will remain till 2012. Its incredible how long analog has been running.

  • Well, buy a DTV converter for it dude!!!! ^_^

  • Well, buy a DTV converter for it dude!!!!!!

  • Hi bbishopcm,

Wanted to comment on your video, you did a great job! Also wanted to make a suggestion to your little problem if I can.

    1. You should have brought a DTV converter for your 1981 Realistic Portavision television set.

    2. You can still enjoy watching your favorite television shows on your old tv again!

  • You should have brought an DTV converter for your 1981 Realistic Portavision set man!

  • Do you still have this TV?

  • I wish I still had my portable TV.

  • I found the 1982 model of your TV, is there any way to hook a converter box or VCR/DVD player to it, cause on the back of it, I see the old VHF/UHF screws on back. Is there an adaptor, or am I "screwed"?(buh-dum-bum!)

  • No, you can just either cut the cable or get a VHF adapter. They should make one.

  • Truly a historic moment, thank you sir for this video.

  • Make it useful by putting in a RF cable connector where the TV channels get recieved, keep the antenna for the radio part. If it has uhf external antenna connectors, how about replacing the with RCA jacks or something and hook up a DVD player to it. This could give it better quality and sound as well. Right?

  • From the first broadcast to the cut off, it is an historical moment. I wonder what will happen to PBS etc?

  • Wow, for some reason that tv reminds me of the 128k macintosh. Here in New Zealand, they still have analog going. but the reception is very poor in some areas. I think by 2012 they are cutting off the analog and you have to use digital or satellite services. Luckily we already have Digital which is good

  • would have been neat if they would have put the old indian head pattern

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • Well, i still get WCIU and some wierd spanish channel that just jabbers about digital at me on that Watchman of mine...

Oh well, i'll just have to forsake the (prospective) DVD drive for my (prospective) netbook so i can get that portable TV this christmas/birthday...

  • RIP analog TV broacasting

    this really sucks

  • *fires the cerimonial cannon*

it was neat watching that though

  • such a sad moment for american TV

  • Great video! I wanted to see what the end of analog broadcast was gonna look like sense I have Comcast.

  • Damnit, now i'm gonna have to blow

$200 on a NEW Portable TV when my $1 Sony Watchman did the job well enough...

  • Goodbye analog, you have served us well with TV broadcast that we could depend on for well over 60 years!

  • Some TV stations are continuing analog transmissions in so-called "twilight mode" where they just show repeating DTV converter box promos. Usually at least one station in each major market is now a designated "twilight" channel.

Also, low-power LPTV stations are free to continue broadcasting normal programming in analog. They have no mandatory switchoff date (yet).

But yes, 95%+ of analog broadcast TV in the USA is now gone. Time to listen to more analog radio, I guess!

  • RIP analog signal.
