  • A gr8 vidieo of a gr8 comedy team, there will never be a team likr them in my lifetime.

  • Wie heißt dieser Song?!!!

  • One of the silliest, joyous, life-affirming and beautiful moments in movie history -- hell, in human history.

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! Always a delight to see my all time favorite Laurel & Hardy routine! Never fails to brighten my day. THANKS so much for posting this absolutely deliightful clip! Many of today's so called "comics" could learn a thing or do from L&H & the other great comedians of yesteryear....they didn't have to be be vulgar & use profanity to be funny. You've MADE my day! :)

  • I used to watch this with my great nan when I was younger and my brother and I would always dance to this part :) ahh, memories :)

  • Bill Irwin is a modern day example of visual humor.

  • One word is enough: Worldclass

    Göran Tivenius, Sweden

  • Truly Two Of The greatest Ever !!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant

  • ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!!

  • My favourite clip of anything ever really, this dance routine by these great characters is my inspiration in life.

  • they also were great singers. just full of talent. i laughed @ all their shorts. very funny. just wished they didn't have to lose towards @ some of those shorts.

  • Odd....That's the same stage coach going around the corner at :00 and :50.

  • Hey man....have a heart.This was done in the early 30's.

  • Laurel and Hardy-Abbott and Costello-Martin and Lewis ALL CLASS ACTS!

  • the film's credits say the singers are the avolon boys, but other people say differently

  • I find it really hard to like black and white movies, but the laurel and Hardy movies really are an exception. Probably some of the funniest comedy ever caught on film!

  • ....The background singers are The Sons Of The Pioneers...The yodeler is the character actor named Chill Wills

  • What a great show! Does anyone know the band's name and the name of the Yodeller?

  • Forgotten the absolute classical author with Stanilo and Oliveiro is never in Fra Diavolo, the laughter scene at the wine cellar. If this makes me nervous so correctly off our world, I look at myself this scene and it precedes.

  • Classic footage!!

  • You were right bruv..

    A bloody classic...Smart.

  • I am thinking of divorcing my husband because he doesn't think Laurel and Hardy are funny. In fact he doesn't like black and white movies at all. What the hell was I thinking?

  • lol

  • Divorce him. Cath my fathers dad brother died and was beyond grief, he and my mother visited us and I played him this and Way Out West and he laughed so much and just helped. A marvellous pair of gentlemen.

  • CathRun, Fleaby is right

Black and white movies require more intellectual connection than full color movies, just as reading requires more imagination, more involvement, than watching any movie...drop this guy like a bad habit unless he has other qualities not aforementioned that compensate

  • @CathRun08 Be rid of him :)

  • @CathRun08 yep ditch the bum LOL

  • is hard to think they were really "exist" !

i mean with a life out of films....with problems, sad moments , sexuality ,diseases ,death etc.....cause' for me ,,actor of that periodo , but especially comedy actors, were lilke aliens , creatures from another dimensions...or actually like "persons" that exists only in our imaggination like donald duuck or popey ....yea they were more like living cartoon carachters than men...is funny sensation isn't?

    :)

  • i remember seeing this wayyy back,,but they panned onto the cowboy band,,and i loved that,,its my favorite song they did,,so funny when it starts,,like ohhh some music,,we love music..then that cowpoke on the porch getting into it all too and laughs,,priceless!!

  • That cowpoke on the porch with the deep baritone voice went on to be great supporting actor in his own right known as Chill Wills.

  • I am 19, and I think Laurel and Hardy put present day actors to shame. I love these guys! Doesn't matter what show of theirs you watch, it will beat any trash that is shown now days. Period.

  • The Greatest Comedy Duo of all time!

  • I'm 71 past, and I never ever forget these two people I watch them over and over again....My dad told me he met them on a train from London to Newcastle he served them there meal, anyway he told me they were the same off screen as they were on it was one of his BEST work days ever..............they will live on forever

  • I'm 58. And I don't think it matters what one's age may be. These two are timeless. In my opinion, they are the greatest comedy duo of all time. Your father was so lucky to meet them!

  • my whole life I've loved this funny dance and cool tune.

The little one is so dainty and the big one chucks himself into it. such serious expressions.

Thanks for putting it on at just the right bit.

    Youtube is great.

  • i have all their episodes on dvd and i must have watched them all 20 times over

  • Hey....how about the great baritone voice and acting ability of Chill Wills in this clip?

  • I love the Avalon boys. They were great. And of course so were Stan Laurel and Babe Hardy

  • ....two greatly loved comedians....sadly missed but never forgotten....

  • This is my going to get beer dance.

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • They was cute and funny...I never get tired of them :)

  • Sorry, genius. Thank you.

    Joao, Brazil

  • only two genious can do this,

    Joao, Brazil

  • Genius yes. And never ever any off color humor in their routines. They don't make stars like these two anymore.

  • In my 60s now and anyone viewing this might remember it from early tv afternoon movies and b&w shorts shown at elementary school in Worthington, Ohio, MJ devotees can learn a thing or two about beautiful music and rhythms from these two wonderful men.

  • anyone know the music/song for this dance and who it is by?

  • Comment removed

  • "The music is composed by J. Leubrie Hill in 1905. The song is called "At the Ball, That's All". Perfomered by The Avalon Boys. There is a dutch band called "The Beau Hunks" which play the original Laurel and Hardy music. You can find this song on the first CD (of the 2 cd box, 1992). The number is called "The trail of the Lonesome pine, At the ball, That's all."

  • Thank you for uploading one of my favourite scenes :)

  • Thanks for posting the original. Seems like people have teamed up this footage with all kinds of different music, but for me it really works best with the original music. Just love L&H.

  • I love these guys from childhood

  • amazing ! so much better than those pair of wit-less twats Eric and Ernie

  • There used to be a clip of the band playing - it was on you tube, but it seems to have vanished - L & H arent they great?

they make the heart feel light.

    steffierig

  • Brilliant, shame you couldn't post the full clip of the band playing as well.

    Hint, hint.

  • idiorr

  • They will never die!!

  • hhhaaa indeed you mean there movies will never die funny that you say that because Laurel & Hardy are already in heaven together LOL funny comment .

  • Should be required viewing for all those trying to do comedy today-a solid routine that does not need profanity or sex to make it both humorous and enjoyable. Truly a lost art.

  • after all these years, they still make me smile, giggle and laugh - the bring back all sorts of memories, God Bless the pair of them, we do need a good laugh these days

  • j'adore cette scène qui je pense a dû inspirer pas mal de comiques par exemple Louis de FUNES...

  • THEY ARE BRILLIANT.

  • They will never die. This makes me smile every time i watch it.

  • What I learned on YouTube today: Laurel and Hardy were gifted, graceful comedic dancers. They made everything hilarious, while making it all look so easy!

  • Genius, what more can you say!

  • Yes! Love this.

  • classic!
