I'm hoping you don't have them in this tank now. your going to stress them out to the point they will be agressive towards you. I have a 40 gal for my baby turtles that will fit fine in a 20 gal. THEY NEED ROOM! unless you like living in a shack then hey thats your choice. have a great day! :)

This is the worst tank I've ever seen.

No space

No foliage

No substrate

No swimming room

Why are you torturing this poor animal... its going to grow to be around 15 - 18" long and that doesn't include how far its head can stick out....

@leekleek1 They don;t need a lot of room, but still that tank is too small ... and they don't have where to hide. Mata Mata in nature hide most of the times, they don;t swim alot because they need to be quiet in order to catch they preys .... even tho they need place where they can move ...
