  • I've seen this movie 4 times! It truely is a visual masterpiece. ^ ^ What makes me a bit sad though is that I've been looking to buy the manga (Black & White) nut I can't find it anywhere--then I remembered it was sterilizied in Pulp, so I started looking for that but I still can't find it. :( If anybody knows where I can find vol 1 please tell me!!

But anyway, FOR REAL! WHO MADE THIS?! It could win like an academy award or something!! XD

  • The shot of the raven perching on Black's shoulder with the frame only capturing the upper half of his face is awesome - I'd love that image as a desktop picture.

  • does anybody kown wo has made this amazing mv?

  • The best vid in tube to ilustrate this masterpiece.

    Congrats!!

    ^^

The end music of AKG with some scenes of the anime... perfect union.

    []´s

  • wats tekkon? =P

  • its short for tekkonkinkreet the name of the anime movie this music video uses clips from

  • yea i kno this movie but i thought the word "tekkon had a mean by itself nvm

  • I know this is old, but if you look at the Wikipedia page it explains. It's a play on words of a type of concrete. I think maybe tekkin means something like re-enforced, from what I gather. I don't claim to know Japanese though (sadly)! :D

  • I know that "kekkon けっこん" means marriage, but Testu (the first kanji used 鉄) means iron/steel. The way they combine them produces "tekkon", you can put 2&2 together. What I get from it is a combination (marriage I guess) of steel and muscle/(the second kanji used is kin/suji but in this case kin 筋) which in english can sound like concrete and whatnot. This probably makes NO sense, but I tried. Pffft, I'm not even sure if it's right, but that's the extent of my translating abilities

  • That's cool! It does kinda make sense. I don't speak/read japanese sadly, though I wish I had the time to learn it. Certainly one of the more interesting (though worryingly difficult) languages. I appreciate you looking into it and posting!

Have you seen the film? What did you think? I'm a budding animator myself and purely on visuals alone this film blew me away, let alone the storyline and characters. Definitely hugely inspirational for me.

Also, the music by Plaid (who are awesome) is superb!

  • That's a relief, because I honestly wasn't sure if it made ANY sense but apparently it does. Japanese is a bit difficult but it just varies from person to person. You should take it up because it's so gratifying when you hear something spoken in Japanese and you can understand it. No worries :] I've seen the film. I rented it, loved it, and bought it. And I almost never rewatch movies. The animation, colors, plot, acting was all brilliant! It was unbelievable!

  • I can imagine what kind of an inspiration Tekkonkinkreet would be. Definately one of the best in the animation department XDD Good luck whatever comes your way in the future ^ ^

Plaid was really good, but I'm completely in love with Asian Kung-Fu Generation, so any thing else is overshadowed by them (yes, I'm that close minded and ignorant >:] ).

  • Hehe thanks for the kind words! Maybe some day I will take up a language. Japanese would be fun, I would be a little annoyed with myself if I never even tried to tackle it.

  • Tekkonkinkreet actually means nothing, but this word came from Tekkin Konkreet. Tekkin konkreet means reinforced concrete in English. You probably can notice "konkreet" is "concrete". When Taiyo Matsumoto, who wrote this manga, was little, he couldn't say "tekkin konkreet" but "tekkon kinkreet." :)

  • ah cool, i hadn't heard the last bit there about when he was young. Interesting. Thanks for the info, oh, and good taste in music on your profile there!
