I'm glad Funimation have 2 versions of animes english dub and japanese with english sub. Honestly I love japanese version.. they show a lot of emotions, etc. Besides I think english dub is cool too. :)

The dub on Neflix isn't bad they have Johnny Young Bosh. One eyed dragon outfits his horse as a chopper and thinks he's Engrish. The game is terrible slash em' bull shit. The anime is so much better.

Hey, I heard that the English dub uses opening and closing credits in the same language, while the original and officially subbed Japanese version does too, thus being in a similar vein in unofficial fansubs.

The explosions in this make me laugh every time. No explanation, no ki, no made up energy source, just samurai make things explode when they hit them with a weapon.

@MegaCrusader101 This whole show is based off of characters during the Japanese Nobuyuki time period. Noboyuki was a ruthless Lord who took over all lands of Japan, and killed those who did not follow his demand. Noboyuki believed though, that he was uniting Japan in his own way, which to some degree, he did. All these characters, are either characters based upon real people who rebelled again Noboyuki during that time period or REAL "HISTORICAL" characters. Do your homework before you post.
@MewIchigo10982 "Historical" doesn't necessarily equal "historically accurate". Basara is rooted in Japan's Warring States period, but it's more about flashy entertainment than it is about reflecting actual events. Substituting Basara for a history lesson is a bad idea.
Also, Nobuyuki is the name of Yukimura's older brother. You're talking about Oda Nobunaga.
@EndohMiku If this was "historically accurate," it would hardly be entertaining for people to watch. Of course they're going to have more entertainment and flashy effects. It's a show and it's not "substituting a history lesson." Sengoku Basara, in my opinion, is meant more so to get people interested in the deep-rooted culture of Japan rather than actually "give a history lesson." Seriously. This is a great show. Give it a break.

It's just hard to differentiate the facts from fiction if one's new to Japanese history. For instance, people are being offed under the wrong circumstances at the wrong time/place by the wrong people, certain characters technically shouldn't even co-exist, some characters don't exist even in mythology (Kasuga) --

Do YOU realize how long it takes for even anime to be drawn, let alone animated? Besides, the amount of time something is drawn doesn't necessarily mirror the quality of the finished work. Someone with less experience could spend years trying to create something that someone with more experience could do in a couple of hours.

Otherwise you'd know that detail isn't always the deciding factor in what makes or break an art form. Which is what animation is--an art form. But, well, I'm going off topic. And I AM getting tired of arguing. Sorry 'bout that. :P This is just a personal topic for me, since I'm aiming to be an animator. I tend to get wordy when I'm emotional.

@MegaCrusader101 This whole show is based off of characters during the Japanese Nobuyuki time period. Noboyuki was a ruthless Lord who took over all lands of Japan, and killed those who did not follow his demand. Noboyuki believed though, that he was uniting Japan in his own way, which to some degree, he did. All these characters, are either characters based upon real people who rebelled again Noboyuki during that time period or REAL "HISTORICAL" characters. Do your homework before you post.

@MewIchigo10982 "Historical" doesn't necessarily equal "historically accurate". Basara is rooted in Japan's Warring States period, but it's more about flashy entertainment than it is about reflecting actual events. Substituting Basara for a history lesson is a bad idea.
Also, Nobuyuki is the name of Yukimura's older brother. You're talking about Oda Nobunaga.

@EndohMiku If this was "historically accurate," it would hardly be entertaining for people to watch. Of course they're going to have more entertainment and flashy effects. It's a show and it's not "substituting a history lesson." Sengoku Basara, in my opinion, is meant more so to get people interested in the deep-rooted culture of Japan rather than actually "give a history lesson." Seriously. This is a great show. Give it a break.

I didn't say Basara was a substitute for a history lesson, I said that TREATING it like one is a bad idea, because the show is about entertainment, not about trying to tell people facts in a fun way. I thought your post was trying to say that Basara was relatively faithful to historical events, b/c truthfully, it took history and threw it out a window. xD;;

He was believed to be real, but it only a ninja myth. They glamorize his skills with his speed and agility and such fully knowing that any typical human being could not move that fast. And no. Of course not. That would be like saying Dynasty Warriors is accurate and we all know that that's hardly accurate. And in a way yes, it did---

@MewIchigo10982 You're right, there obviously is a level of truth to the show (i.e. the names of the historical figures along with the inclusion of actual myths). It's just hard to differentiate the facts from fiction if one's new to Japanese history. For instance, people are being offed under the wrong circumstances at the wrong time/place by the wrong people, certain characters technically shouldn't even co-exist, some characters don't exist even in mythology (Kasuga) --
