No one really knows since the game doesn't really go into great detail about what happened at the school, but I *think* it's led to believe that everyone died and turned into dark versions of themselves (of course, except for the main character and his girlfriend).

@peachykatara Well, Rachel points out that a monster grabbed her leg and said that it was her friend and then she goes on to say that her friends dead. o_o So the faculty members and students were killed due to all these happenings.

@peachykatara I don't believe it's ever said straight up, but I would definitely assume they're dead and turned into some kind of twisted monsters, if just because of the whole phasing through walls/into shadows thing. That screams "dead" more than "possessed" to me, personally.
