This mare doesn't flex her hocks or stifles enough for my liking. Look at her cannon bones behind during the piaffe, they are vertical to the ground. I don't see any indication of loading the hind legs.

Some 30 years ago a riding teacher told me he wouldn´t like the horse to do what he wants him to do, but rather to WANT what he´s wanting him to do. So both of them could enjoy fulfilling their wishes.

I´ve tears in my eyes waching this just perfect team.

I've watched this same freestyle test several times from several different viewpoints. And I don't think I've ever seen a horse and rider combo so in sync. And on top of that, Debbie is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I know. She did a symposium at my barn. She should have beaten Anky in Vegas a few years ago. At least that's what my wife and girls said. And they were there. No disrespect to Anky. They're both awesome dressage riders. Both huge credits to our sport!

I agree with all of you...goosebumps galore! Oh, to have harmony with a horse that way...well, there would be nothing better. Brentina makes everything look effortless and so elegant while being technically correct...and Debbie rocks...she is one cool woman! Excellent performance!

McDonald is one of my favorite equestrians; they're amazing to watch, and she and Brentina have a truly wonderful bond and communication.

Every time I see this communication and calm, I actually cry. I think it's a shame that this kind of training isn't rewarded on the international arena. I watch the greats of the past and see a very simular performance (Klimke in New York)without the saddlebred look of extravagent movement of the current top horses. Plus, they just don't seem at all happy in their work, unlike Brentina and that mare Matine.
