When u first buy the bike its set to i think around 8000rpm.You can then adjust it to wherever u want. It tells u how to do it in the manual book.

stock...its set at 7. hold the select button while bike is off, turn bike on while holding it an additional 5-7 seconds then u can change where u want it to come, if blinks or stays solid, or stays off in general. i think u can even make the shift light change even higher with each gear. i have mine set at 11.5 having it at 7 sucks at night cuz the light is bright and stays on, lol. oh yeah, u can adjust the brightness of the light too.

it adjusts exactly the same way on my gsxr 1000. hold the button then turn on. select rpm and brightness and you can select if you want it to flash or come on steady

You can adjust when you want the shift light to come on, on the r1's ... at least on the latter models, i think 2004 up

I agree with kozadongre the Akr. make the 09 R1 tail look alot better, sleeker. Do you know how much weight you lost from the stock oem mufflers and y pipe? If you decide to Dyno the R1 post the results,i"m sure everyone would like to know what the gains you have obtained.

the difference for street legal is the omologation "printed" on the muffler, and the presence of the db-killer , the street legal slip on become OPEN if you remouve the db-killer .... and back legal if you insert db-k again .. ;)

i love how u got the carbon slip ons makes the bike look much better than the titanium ones, i rekon yamaha should make a deal with akra for developing their exhausts.
