My dad bought a 2003 BMW 730d in black, but the problems with it are that the buttons on the steering wheel does not work, including the voice button, also when I try to go onto the sat nav, an error comes up, I dont know why but I think I do not have the sat nav cd, ill have to check, anyway, the car is still good and I love the orange dials which makes it very calm when driving at night. Once I have sorted the steering wheel buttons, the car will be excellent.
i don't say the 7 series it's ugly..it isn't...it's a bit sporty a bit too futuristic for me..i like the s-class because it has the lines of a proper limo...all the respect for the series too

The only negatives for 2002-2004(my model) is the iDrive electronics fail and at one point.(not me but the previous owner) had a receipt for maintenance cost of $1600USD to fix the iDrive system from malfunctioning. Other than that the car is solid as a rock. No coolant issues, no suspension issues, no transmission issues and no engine issues. If you can afford the $300+ a month plus insurance payments on the car you should be able to handle maintenance no problem.

both brands suffer from significant quality issues. if you want absolute luxury the benz is your choice if you want a big car and still drive like speed racer the bmw is the ticket. but if you just want your car too work be and be luxurious lexus is you choice if you wanna be different maserati quattroporte is a great car ive driven the s500 ,s-550 several times and i own the 745li, if by chance ur worried about gas the 745s gas mileage is close to the s350s.
Lexus got the number one rank again this year for reliability...its like its 15th year winning or something. But i'd take the 7 series cause i one of those people that love its looks.

But mechanically the car is sound. despite not having a block heater ive started the car with one push of the button -40celcius temps no problem it just makes a worrying sound when it starts that cold. when the computer acts up and u cant listen to music for a couple days. and that can be annoying. computer problems are annoying and they happen once every 8 months on average for me. you usually drop off your car at 9 am and get a call saying its done by lunch if not just after.

i like the 7 series, i would consider gettin one, i respect the A8. they both great cars but they got to be better than S-class in all areas.S-class built quality has improved in recent yrs.i used to like LS but i think its a case where its just a mixure of smart jap toys, not that i think its a shit car.the only piece of shit r those cheap cars from the pacific rim shown on TG LOL i dont think callin the S-class a ''piece of shit'' does it justice

10x's better. which they did bmw 7series is nothing like a s-class. the s-class is a legendary part of benz besides the sl class. so don't ever insualt the first car in the world to have abs airbags and all the high tech shit that cars today have, thats all thanks to the s-class. 7series is awesome but i would take the s-class anyday over a 7series.

the 7 series drives way better than the s-class for the size of it even the long wheelbase ones. bmw is very good of taking care of any problems.the i drive isnt that hard to figure out the problem lies in bmw making it so different that you have to learn the car . but all that i drive stuff doesnt interfere with day to day driving because most your functions arent dependent on the i-drive. if your gonna buy a high end euro car WARRANTY is most important.

what the fuck is wrong with you, the i-drive was brought to the world by bmw which is now used by almost all luxury car companies, then audi used it in the a series selection and the q series, and then in 2006 when the new s-class came out benz just made it easier, better, and fun to use. that how bmw and benz work, bmw comes out with the new technology and benz just makes it better.

well just because they say so, dosen't mean its true man, lol just try it out. diff companies have diff i-drive systems. bmw's knob kinda feels cheap in a way and audi is just a small knob thats just what ever but cool. but benz has the best i-drive system and program that is simple and easy to use, plus just like bmw it features voice contol which is just plane lazy but cool. practicle at high speeds.

benz's supply you with every department you can ever dream off, ok so does bmw, and bmw's make great cars, but i'm a big benz fan, and benz's performance department amg and other separate ones like brabus, carlson, lourensa. they provide more power then any m power bmw, and i've seen a s55 smoke an m5. bmw are great cars but benz supplies everyting luxury, performace, tech, you name it. sure there more expensive but there worth it.

ok thats true but you have to admit benz do make amazing machines like the brabus sl65, that thing is a fucking monster, or the c-class brabus which brabus took out the v6 or the v8 from the c-class and loaded it with a v12 bi-turbo with a 750hp, thats fucking crazy! and yeah i know benz's can't take turns aswell as bmw's, but benz's are made more to just cruise around, when bmw lets you know that if you want, you have the power, when benz is just a nice luxury car to drive around but are fast

Actually, according to Wikipedia, the E65 7 Series was released in (probably late) 2001 as an '02 model. Top Gear was canceled in 2001, the same year that Fifth Gear began (later in the year, allowing VBH, Tiff & co. time to film for the new show). So, yes, it could have been original Top Gear, but I think more likely that it was an early Fifth Gear test.
