only fools would feel the need to silence others through censorship, they do so to protect their worldview, eg. religious indoctrination, their view of the world is hinged on unquestioning faith, but when others believe different from them it makes them question their beliefs which leaves them feeling very vulnerable. so they they attack and censor those that believe and speak different so they can maintain their fragile view of the world.
