Steve Vai, Preston Reed, Alex Fox - MASTER guitar players. Steve Vai is one in a BILLION. The tongue twisters this guy can do on the guitar is amazing.
@Razwell WHO THE FUUUK IS PRESTON REED AND ALEX FOX HAHAHA SUCKY more like steve vai , michael angelo batio , joe satriani , yngwie malmsteen ,michael romeo tthose are some names
Sometimes it seems that God speaks to me through his music. All the anger goes away just in a moment when I turn on one of his chill tracks like this one. My soul becomes filled with peace and rejoicing. How else to explain such an exciting art?
Another awesome song with supreme synesthesia,he just used 100% of his feeling once again and idiots like some nirvana fans(nothing against the band,i actually like it) keep saying that steve vai`s type of sound is masturbation, who likes guitar knows what im talking about.
Steve vai worked hard and thats why he is a guitar God !
steve vai's mastered the instrument to such a level it seems he's unlocked a new portal through which his music sounds like people are talking to you when you listen to it...
I'm in Boston now. The reality is that there is no fucking rain that can be musical. Every time it starts raining, it ends up within few minuets, which in most time is temporary. Instead of rain, there has always been fucking cold wind and weather.
i listen to this song everytime i want to think back to a better time in my life where everything was simple and i had no worries about tomorrow. i love this song and everything steve does, his music is so inspirational, 5/5
The melody, to me, is evoking the exact emotional state of a love encounter on a rainy evening. It has that playful, romantic, innocent, "dim light" melancholy which makes you think about an idyllic situation on a magic rainy evening. In this case in Boston. I've never been there. The sad part is although we have Vai and the other unearthly musicians, the first thing i see when i check my yahoo email is Bieber on the news with his 4 AMA...you draw the conclusion. cheers
I've been discovering Steve Vai in an ass backwards way lately. Got my hands on 5 of his "Naked Tracks" cd's and Ive been playing my own leads on top of them without having heard what he performs. It was neat to hear him hit some of the same notes I used in certain places. But hands down I like his version of this song better! haha. Really good listening
You know I just don't get it, we have people like this,Steve Vai,who mastered an instrument to the fullest extent possible, but every time i turn on a radio I get nothing but this new garbage they call music.
@deanml1984 The masses are morons and they appeal to the masses. Steve's music takes the guitar to a whole different dimension. Most songs today are 3 chords anyways, that's all the average person can comprehend. If you were to put them in front of Vai.... there heads would explode. Sucks to say, but that's just the way it is. Anyways, Vai is ours, so let's keep it that way
@deanml1984 you know vai made a limited series of 300 Ibanez Jems and put his own blood into the paint of the guitars with a ratio 1/8. And then he said " My DNA is on those guitars. In a few hundred years they can withdraw it and create my clone. Maybe that guy will be able to get his music on the radio" but I guess for now "Im in the hotel motel Holiday Inn" is more appealing to people

Favorite Steve Vai song! I bought his anthology cd and wasn't too impressed; although this song blew me away. its about time someone posted this! The part around 2:20 is ridiculous, he reaches nirvana. Risingsorrow, its a damn shame he doesn't play this live, I would think this would be one of marquee tracks, no?
This was my introduction to Steve Vai a decade ago. It was on a Guitar World compilation that I'd listen to everyday on the way to school just so I could hear this song. The perfect song to listen to on the bus while still trying to get your bearings, as the sun was still rising at 7am.
envy400, I think I read somewhere once that he was doing a sound check for a show in Boston and it started pouring - and this is what he wrote kind of impromptu.
Like this if listened in the rain at night

Steve doesn't only master everything about the guitar he knows how to make love to the harmony of a guitar, giving you an eargasm by each note.
Unsung0101 2 years ago
his phrasing is like saying actual words to me. it's just shred up and down. this is playing and knowing your instrument....
