her new novel has effects comparable to a double whisky: it stimulates your fantasy and is an adventurous trip through the human soul.
"i didn't think this one was going to take me so long to write...
legendary houdini is harriett's idol. he was able to hold his breath for more than 3 minutes and she tries it herself until the heart pounds violently and the lungs burn - 1 min and 15 sec is her record. The southern states of the 70s present a marvellous setting, magnificent and uncanny, morbid at the same time. 12 year old harriett is determined to take revenge for her brother's murder.she's looking for justice and finds the suspects among the underdogs of the region. in doing this, she does not avoid any danger." i can remember from my own childhood that children like trying themselves, test their boundaries in order to find our how far they can run or for how long they can hold their breath"

rough translation: this attractive woman has kept her fan community waiting for 10 years until her second novel finally got finished: donna tartt. with her sensation debut succes she rose out of nothing to a kind of pop star of the literary scene. now she needs to prove that her first book was not just a flash in the pan.
I simply adore Donna Tartt- and wish this were translated, Why doesn't America care more about our authors?? It makes me sad- She is absoutely brillant and a monumental writer.
"The Secret History" will remain my favorite novel eternally. I still miss "Henry"... She is sgoregeous and her writing is simply gorgeous as well.
Yeah I know, but I I find dubbing over just ridiculous. I'm a native Dutch speaker, and over here we use subtitles in foreign movies and documentaries. Everybody happy
She's beautiful and I love her hairdo. She's one of the greaters authors of our time. I love The Little Friend, it still haunts me more than a year after reading it. I'm reading The Secret History now. It's brilliant as well.
It's interesting to see her for the first time (in motion), it makes her more human in a way (also to know that she smokes). I tend to mystify authors when reading their books.
