Never watched show when it was on as I'd lost interest in games for a while back then. Missed out on the whole Megadrive/Snes thing :-( got back into gaming on PS1 and haven't looked back, it's excellent that I can watch all these old episodes on here :-)
anyone notice how easily pleased the girls are on the reviews for average/poor games they always give more stars than the boys! What are the worried about hurting the game makers feelings?
LOL @ the 2 guys around 4:00, they obviously hadn't prepared for their interview very well - I bet those were the ONLY computer games they knew - I mean come on, PAPERBOY!? How many "hardcore players" would name that. So wish Andy had pushed them a bit more on "why that one" ...
BI may have been a little 'infantile' or childish but I never really thought comparing it to gamesmaster made much sense - Over 3/4 of gamesmaster was just the "challenges", and I was much more interested in finding out about the latest hardware, and computing technology and innovations as shown on BI. The 2 shows were worlds apart really.
i went gamesmaster live too :) at birmingham nec, did you see the neogeo stand, was amazing back then, only rich folks could get their hands on them :P
YEAH! Gamesmaster Live kicked ass! I went to that, got to see Shadow from gladiators before he got fired. Ended up with a massive bag of free stuff :) I was the envy of the school for ages.
Great to watch for nostalgic reasons, but I was never a fan a BI. It always seemed a little to...infantile. I prefered GM which seemed to be aimed more at the mature market. Even though I was only about 11 when both shows were aired.
Interesting, Games Master gets a mention from Bad Influence. I always thought there was a little tension between these two shows. I like fact BI did if GM a shout out. My two favourite shows! BI was all about news, reviews and previews while GM did gaming competitions and a few features and reviews. Both shows complimented each other amid the Golden Age of gaming during the late 80's to the mid 90's. Bring these shows back. Man it was a good childhood!
People who says that we were fucked up at that time because of the games and computers of that 'Era' doesn't understand nothing at all about gaming, and the only contact that he should had for sure was with playstation or xbox. Computers like Commodore Amiga 500 were way larger too advanced for that time! Not even today, a computer can reach such a performance like being 5 times superior than other computer on the market. Amiga was, and that's a fact!
I bet those £3.99 Game Gear branded batteries were also good news for Lynx owners whose handheld was also a battery guzzler ;)
