I was 8 years old when Hugo hit. My family and I were in myrtle beach 2 weeks before hugo hit. Nothing left were we vacationed after Hugo. That was the beginning of my meteorology passion.
That was the night about half the state of SC was without electricity. From some areas of Beaufort county all the way up to Columbia and Rock Hill and eastward to the coast was affected by this storm.
Oh WOW... AWESOME!!! It's really eerie to hear the NOAA broadcast and see the transformer explosions, knowing what's looming just offshore when you guys were driving around in this clip!!!
