Really nice music!! Much better than my guitar!! I tried to get one (hurdy gurdy) But they're very hard to find! and noone builds them in Sweden any longer.. Lottie
Neil - how does this Kaoscillator thing work? I've seen how you use it on the website, but how are you activating the sounds? Is this one of your MIDI Gurdies?
Just google it for more details.I rigged up a hinged bar which turns on the sequencer more easily than using the button. The sequence was already programmed in and just needed the start. The gurdy is acoustic with internal pickup
Ah, I see - you hit the bar and it starts playing the drum rhythm. Effective apart from the timing issues - is it possible to rig it up to a foot pedal? You could then adapt it to your playing, instead of vice versa.
I like the way you build the tune bringing in the black (high) notes and the trompette (buzz) as you go.
I've enjoyed played in a pub session alongside a Hurdy-Gurdy on my Uilleann pipes, coming in with the drones then the chanter on the second round and going down to just drones for the last. But I'm limited to D to be able to do that.
Absolutely astonished. I hope to whatever god you do or don't believe in that talent like this is preserved and improved, and that you do not abandon the gifts that you have.
hook two of these babies up to a bicycle, free your right hand to play the extra one... mad i know, but dont tell me you hurdy players are not thinkin about it now....
i tried to get an explaination on how the trompette rhythm is played from another hurdy player but he simply said, "You have to have your hands on one to fully understand how it works" i jsut guessed that one could do it with your feet on pedals , with much practice ... of course.

You are in D/G tuning.
What are the three chanterelles tuned to?
Sound like d, d' and d'' (D3, D4 and D5)?

What is the electronic instrument mounted on the peg head of the instrument?

I love languages, but the language of hurdy-gurdy is the unique, I remember my childhood in the North of Perigord.
I remember, in the language of my childhood " remenbrança".
Very good , excellent!

His right hand is currently busy playing the rhythm on the trompette, starting about halfway through. Both hands are very skilled.
