I wish I could get a bird, but we not have the money and time for it. Plus we own a cat, so I'm afraid she would eat it. (We rescued her from a shelter)Anyways I wanted to ask you if you ever had someone with special needs adopt a bird? I have autism so I'm curious if someone like me could be a good owner for a bird.

I am not an expert at autism, but as long as you take a bird to the vet yearly, feed it nutritious food, and give it plenty of love and attention I'm sure you would make a wonderful bird 'owner.' You may want to volunteer at a bird rescue or sanctuary to see if a bird is really for you and if you have the patience for a bird...they are very high maintenance.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! It's the 30th anniversary of my 18th birthday today. We have been discussing plans with the first contractor so we'll see what dollar figure they come up with. I pray that we can afford to build before this year is up.
