I have some tips: you can use an accapella version of a song and incorporate the song with your drumming, so that way it's easier to hear your drums instead of the ones in the song.
be more sure of your drumming.. i know it was improvised but you stuttered on some of your fills cuz it looked like you werent sure of what to do.. you would have nailed it if you were sure about it.. like you did with the cross over stick thing.. you know what i mean?
also
you should use 8th notes on the toms when you go to that tom beat.. when you use quarter notes it makes it sound slower and laggish..
i would try it but im confused with my cymbals right now. my zildjian pitch black 18" crash sounds deeper than its supposed to but when i film me hitting it it sounds right. i dont know if its supposed to be like that or if its just my camera
I love how your camera shake by the beat of your bass. Good job! =)

is it cool if i ask what program you use to record?? rockband mics, creative!
BrenS19811 1 year ago
@BrenS19811 Not all the mics in this one are rockband, but yea....necessity is the mother of invention.
I use Garageband to record.

the cymbal crossover thing was pretty beastly, not gonna lie.
awesome song choice, by the way! quite unexpected haha.

Yea, weirdly, I found myself drifting towards a more pop sound. I guess pop is just easy to cover.

Very smooth. Thanks.

hahahaha no worries bro....the next couple of covers will be harder songs...
TheBenWelch 2 years ago
Lol, I'm not saying it isn't hard, that end bit looked rather complicated, but like something like silverchair - tommorow. that sort of angryness
PaulDavidScott 2 years ago
I love your drumming! You're very cute by the way :)

did you do the tape thing specifically for this cover or do you think it would sound better on a rock song as well?
UrbanNinja216 2 years ago
I did it especially because this is a country song, and I wanted a more mellow sound, but it would sound interesting when used in rock.

The room acoustics can change the sound of a cymbal

kycexe 2 years ago
they're Travis Barker sig. sticks, with some tape up on the neck to soften cymbal crashes.
