  • If you don't want Bond to activate the ejector seat, why install it?

  • lol I love the ending xP

  • Your video is a favorite on Kuwait

  • i never joke about my work 007

    007: poker face

  • I know Jay Leno has the original DB5, acquired by very secret Sunshine State (oh, the irony) auction during the late very 90's.

  • I never joke about my work 007 ;7

  • "ejector seat your joking!"

  • 240p we meet again

  • its finn mcmissile

  • Why put the button there if he can't use it? Oh well, classic Q ;)

  • "Your Joking"....."I never joke about my work 007"

  • Llewelyn, it was an honor to have him as Q, may he rest in peace

  • beautiful car and my personal favourite.

  • Boy, there would be a lot fewer horrible drivers on the road if I had one of these Aston Martins!! "CUT ME OFF, WILL YOU?!?! HERE, EAT A FEW ROUNDS OF MY FRONT WING MACHINE GUNS!!" "TAILGATE THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME, WILL YOU?? Here's a sharp curve with a 1000-foot cliff. Time for an oil slick!" "Use your high beams behind me for no good reason?? Try to drive through a smoke screen, with a tractor trailer coming at us ..... "What fun ..... LOL

  • Quite possibly this scene was my first boyhood crush on a car.

  • great scene. as for the people saying this is not a db5, you are incorrect. i know these cars pretty well, as my dad has a db4 and db6. just because there is no badge, it doesnt mean that it is not a db5. the producers of the movie probably bought a 80 or 90% complete car since they knew they would be modifying and eventually wrecking it in the movie. db5's have a very distinct body style, using the rear styling of a db4 and the foreward styling of a db6. lastly, there was never a db4 vantage...

  • R.I.P. Q

  • Thumbs up if you FANTASIZE of someday buying an 1960s Aston Martin DB5! :D

    And DOUBLE thumbs up for...

    "Whoosh!"

    "Ejector seat, you're joking!"

"I never joke about my work, 007!"

You never did, Q...and Nobody Did It Better!

  • A primeira das supermáquinas da frota de James Bond: Aston Martin DB5,Lotus Spirit,Aston Martin DBS,Aston Martin Volcane,Aston Martin Vantage,Aston Martin Vanquish,BMWZ3,BMW Z8,BMW 750i e outro carro que mereceria ser incluido nesta frota teria de ser a Ferrari Enzo Ferrari

  • My favorite Bond car.

  • @KiloByte69 my favorite bond car is dbs

  • This is actually not a DB5. I you look at the back of the car and the side you'll see there is no DB5 badge, as the car is in fact a DB4. Also, this car is slightly smaller than the DB5.

  • @bigglesploof Technically, its a DB4 Vantage, still doesn't stop it from being one of the most beautiful cars ever made though, all Astons are amazing, regardless of the type, much better than any other cars.

  • @Overlord0108 Well...nearly. This car is DB5 chassis 216/1, a prototype DB5 shown at the Earls Court show to introduce the model (hence the non-standard details). This is the car that, after filming, was stripped of the gadgets by the factory, sold as a standard road car, and the owner had the 'modifications' refitted in the aftermarket (Kent restorations). The car was stolen from storage in Florida in 1997 and has never been seen since.

  • Arghhh , sold again.... and I was nt available for this ...... Too sad

One of the most beautiful car

  • Classic car, check our profile out for a fantastic DB5 replica!

  • Clearly they haven't seen the Barrett 50 cal...

  • @DarkTrackstar ahaha, the window bullet proof dont count against that weapon lol. even the AA12 with the explosive bullets culd do damage but if its the barrett, farewell db5

  • @Akabuena i bet if it was bulletproof, it would be bulletproof to maybe a 9mm, or a .357, and i doubt even the 7.62

  • @DarkTrackstar yea true bout that, 9mm wuld be nuthin, 357 or 44 wudnt as well but barrett, shiit thats a whole different story. thumbs up bout wut u wrote tho

  • @Akabuena k thanks u 2 lol

  • @DarkTrackstar

    back in 1964??

and even if there was, I thought that was designed to take out stationary objects, not some car going 100mph. Some villains is going to pack that in his car and shoot at Bond from a chase car???

  • its kinda weird that bond always needs the EXACT same things that they give him....noting more nothing less

  • i love the DB5 <3

  • @LeBronFilms me too :)

  • Comment removed

  • I love the way he says "top off".

  • Gotta Love Q's serious face at 1:17 LOL

  • Love the 007 Aston Martin DB5!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ejector seat Youre Joking

  • Superb moment, in a classic movie.

  • I want this car!!!

  • an Aston Is an Aston, but not worth anymore than other's that arnt in any movie's,

Its all a bunch of pverpriced hype, and dont bee fooled into the flash of movies when the DB-5 in the film was just like anyother one , just with movie trick's that wernt in the film anyway but the studio,

  • @kirkconway No shit, Sherlock. And we all thought ejector seats came as standard.

Tell me, do you regularly go to childrens christmas parties and tell them all that Santa Claus isn't real ?

  • I heard this car was going to be auctioned for 5 million dollars. I'd buy it.

  • Sean Connery is James Bond 007. That's all, end of story.

  • Desmond Llewellin was GREAT as Q

  • I never joke about my work 007

    LOL

  • *Wssshhh!*

    "Ejector seat, you're joking."

"I NEVER joke about my work, 007..."

The classic Q/007 lines... from the classic Q and classic 007... I can learn to LIVE WITH Craig, at least, he's not too terrible, though no one will ever top Connery (Brosnan is a close 2nd, though, and Moore had his time) but... we need a Q. Maybe a different kind of Q to preserve Llewelyn's memory... but 007 needs his best friend and his gadgets back, or he's just another James, not Bond, James Bond!

  • that's a car!

  • @andreamolina16 ; I agree, most people don't know that the original DB5 was designed and built by an Italian outfit call TOURING i think they have just reappeared

after decades of absence from car building and design.

  • "I never joke about my work 007!" has got to be the best Q line out of all the Bond films!

  • best scene in the whole movie dbs and vanquish suck and so do pierce brosnan and daniel craig because they re not cool and the aston martin is a beauty.

  • Ejector seat, you're JOCKING!

  • Which model Bentley did he used to drive? I'm guessing that info is in the books yea?

  • @armjay

In the books James Bond drove a Bentley 4 and a half litre with an Amherst-Villiers supercharger. Those Bentleys are commonly refered to "Blower Bentleys" today and were designed for racing in the late 20's. This meant Bond's car was a veteran even in the 50's.

When Q refers to Bond's Bentley in Goldfinger I think he either refers to the popular Bentley S1 which was a 50's premium car or his Blower Bentley which made a small appearance in From Russia With Love

  • @McLarenMercedes The bentley in From Russia With Love was actually an S3 if I remember correctly

  • @armjay In the books, Bonds personal car was a Bentley - his spy car previous to this was an Aston Db2/4 mk 3.

  • LOL!! In quantum of solace Daniel Craig

    had no bullet proof windows.

but Sean Connery does in gold finger and the other bond films that Sean Connery made.

  • there are no bullet proof windows and etcetera since Q left (in goldeneye) there are just small extras unfurtunatly

  • Excellent!! Love that Bond Aston Martin DB5!!

  • That was a car !

Ten times better than this corny invisble thing 30 years later.

  • If the glass was bullet proof all around whats with the bullet proof screen?

  • My guess is that the glass can withstand regular shoots from handheld guns, while the bullet proof screen can withstand stronger guns for example heavy machine guns from a pursuing vehicle.

  • For rockets and armour piercing bullets perhaps?

  • extra armour in case the back got blown off by explosives

  • i was thinking that

  • Lol, the rear glass is only bullet proofish...

  • Comment removed

  • daniel craig and sean connery = best!^^

  • no sean connery and pierce brosnan

  • craig?! Are you mad?!

  • I would like to have that one.......it's so nice, so gentleman.......

  • desimunda, in saying that the dbs is overpriced due to the fact it is an upgraded db9. if you had actually seen the differences between the two cars (actually sat in them and driven one) you would realise it is not. By the way the dbs is not as expensive as expected, it is not really too much more than the db9.

  • The film that set the standards for all Bond films to follow.

  • "I never joke about my work..." love him :P

  • @e6d6d6yheartagram too bad he died 13 years ago

  • your joking.lol

  • I think the car chase in QOS is great. I loved the film myself!

  • he never jokes about his work.

  • "I never joke about my work 007!"

Q is always brilliant! And I think the actor playing him, gets even better as he gets older. In the Pierce Brosnan films he was just amazing!

    Great pity he died..

  • My favourite Q moment. He really puts Bond in his place.

  • what does Q say after bond says "its never let me down" ? I can't make it out for the life of me.

  • "M's orders, 007"..

    hope that solves it...

  • perfect, thank you very much!

  • You're a dumbass.

  • I recently unearthed my Kodak Instamatic snapshots of Bond's Astin Martin DBS5 on display at the '64 -'65 NY World's Fair. The emcee fielding questions mentioned that there were 2 cars: the one that was wrecked in the car chase and the one with all the gadgets.

I had no idea then that we'd actually have all those cool Bond gadgets, like GPS navigation!

  • this movie is awesome but the DB5 itself was a terrible car because in a drag race a 2.4L Honda Accord would win and to make an already slow car heavier with modifications makes for a very bad car

  • I'd rather drive a slow classic than a kids honda.

  • aston is toucher , has better performance , n perfect for a chase

  • It's kind of hard for a Honda Accord to win when it's been blown to shit XD

  • r u shitting me...its japanese it'll outlive a DB5 n e day even if its on fire.

  • hey , the 2008 accord has bad performance

  • which is why it was voted in the 10 best cars of 2008

  • Yeah, James Bonds car in the Quantum Of Solace car chase should have been an accord, than big Beautiful 530 HP V12 Aston martin DBS is just nothing against a V6 Honda rice car :). Sorry but saying a $22,000 car is better than something as pricy as an Aston martin is just a joke

  • im talking about the db5

dbs is a masterpiece...an extremely overpriced masterpiece because its a db9 but better, but yet still a masterpiece

  • Ejection seat, you're joking!

  • I HAVE ONE BUT IT IS GOLD

  • First Q says: "Windscreen, bulletproof, as are the side and the rear windows"

A little later he explains that there is a 'rear bulletproof screen'. Why does Bond need that when he already has a bulletproof window? ;)

  • "ejector sheet? your joking?"

  • i never joke about my work 007

  • Good old "Q" did anyone know that the old man playing "Q" lived to be in his late eighties? You know how he died? Car crash.Imagine getting all the way to that point in life and dying in a fucking car crash! If one is to get that old,you should die in your sleep.A shame really.

  • i maintain the grounds around the house he was brought up in and theres a plaque on the wall for this great welsh actor...

  • I had this car when I was wee...the spring n the ejection seat broke though....the little plastic guy stopped sprining out...had all the features of the real car in the film with the bullet proof shiled, machine guns and ejection seat....

  • love da car

  • 60's aston martin

  • fake car, nothing was real on it, no machine guns or anything

  • "fake car, nothing was real on it, no machine guns or anything"

I NEVER JOKE ABOUT MY WORK XIBER1!

  • Got to be the most classic scene ever! so British

  • A cool car...

    with a cool bond...

    cool gadgets..

this car is better than a vanquish i think...

  • You're joking...

  • You're joking...

fromblackandgold51: I never joke about my work 007!

  • I'd get either a DBS or a DB4/5.

  • db5 equipment machineguns, rocket launchers smokescreen, oil slick and NON-BULLETPROOF glass

  • the db5 is better but slower than vanquish but when i grow up iam going to buy a real db5

    thats for sure!

  • That's my dream also but I'll probablly go for the DB6 because of the steep price. I hope the stock lasts and the price doesn't rise too much!!

  • The DB5 is from the '60s. There have been many advances in production technology since then but also many new regulations. A DB5 can't be reasonably compared to a Vanquish.

BTW, the car in the novel is a DB2, and it does *not* replace Bond's Bentley in the novel because the Bentley was Bond's personal car, while the DB2 was a company car used on company business.

  • This sequence, director Guy Hamilton did not want anyone to tell what the DB5 could do, but Albert Broccoli insisted to do this scene! Later the director said: "there is a school of thought", and Cubby was absolutely right!

  • The Aston Marton V12 Vanquish was a better car in Die Another Day

  • my favorite bond movie and one of my favorite bond cars how do u make an awesome car more awesome? add machine guns

  • hehe, add machine guns.. That was a good one! And sooo true! :) Do we ever get tired of this?? Hmmmmm... NO :)

  • An Aston Martin has been fished out of Italy's Lake Garda after it plunged into the water while being driven to the set of the latest James Bond film.

Producers of "Quantum of Solace" say James Bond's iconic car was being delivered to the filming unit in heavy rain on Saturday morning when it went off the road and into the lake in northern Italy.

Producers say the driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The newest film in the 007 series stars is due for release later this year.

  • The Goldfinger-poster, where Bond and Galore is close together (nothing else there If I remember correct) is the most beautiful poster ever I think..

  • "Goldfinger" got it`s 3 mill dollar budget back under two weeks! But "Thunderball" is still the most popular: 140 000 000 seats sold!!

  • As a four decade major fan of Bonds, I don`t think it would have worked to allways go completely "by" the books..

  • As a four decade major fan of Bonds, I don`t think it would have worked to allways go completely "by" the books..

  • which bond car did James Packer buy? I thought it was this one

  • Each to their own!

  • Nicknamed: WetNellie

  • FYI-George Harrison bought this and then later sold.

Funny to think of him riding around in this, the actual Bond auto. He was big into sportscars.

  • And F1 racing. Actually, BMT216A was a DB4 prototype with a DB5 front end. Notice that the DB5 logos are not on the front fenders and the sun visors are missing.

  • best car best bond!

  • As a kid I saw the underwater Lotus Esprit in the spy who loved me so when I saw the Aston Martin DB5 some years later I thought it was nowhere near as space age as the Lotus. The DB5 was slower than a Jaguar E-type and was twice as expensive. If not for Bond...

  • Connery didn't like the DB5. He reckoned it was a ladies car.

    Great looking though.

  • He seems disapointed... This is when the word changes forever Bond + Aston Martin = Ultimate fame for both

  • yeah the way he says "Ejector Seat your joking?!" rules!

Brosnan did a crappy re-take on it in the disaster that is DAD when he said something about the car being invisible. "Invisible Car, you must be joking?!". Unfortunatly for Brosnan and the billion people watching, Q wasnt joking on that occasion :'(

  • lol i love when hes like...EJECTOR SEAT? YOUR JOKING!. Gotta love Bond.

  • Gotta love CONNERY!!! The posters for You Only Live Twice said "Sean Connery IS James Bond!!" Still is, always will be.

  • Read the books. Bond there looks like Peirce Brosnan and acts like Roger Moore.

  • I have read the books and your comment is an insult to Connery.

  • He doesn't say "How does that grab you?" in the books.

Dalton was the closest to the books.

  • How does that grab you?".. That line came from Peter Lamont, when they where lost of words.. :)

  • I've read the books. None of them is like the Bond in the books. The closest one to the Bond in the books was George Lazenby in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service."

  • My favourite Bond. Followed by Mr. Brosnan. And as a matter of fact I do not recognise any other Bond. :)

  • My dream.

  • The best bond car of all time - maybe even the best car of all time.

  • Best looking car EVER.

  • nicccesshhhh car mr bond

  • Gotta love this clip.

  • Great clip. Brilliant.
