  • I think the rainforest was better value for all. Tell the king he blew it... Let you in on a little secret people, those .99 burgers are 99% toxic. 1_ OVE

  • I like their burgers...

  • i know the owner of all of them he lives in my state

  • i eat bocaburgers,everybody should.

  • that makes me want a delicious angry whopper

  • Burger king needs to have vegan food.

  • man i could do with a wopper right now

  • tis bullshit!

  • just like wal-mart

    people we are getting screwed

  • great stuff, robert. way to nail a restaurant, it must have been tough. here's some names you can look into for your next hard hitting journalism assignment.

    michael hezarkhani

    evan fairbanks

    devin clark

    park foreman

    coward

  • It's pure crap food just like Mc Donnald's,

Why would any one eat that chit?

Oh wait, soon it might be the law!

    Google search "Organic illegal"

  • BOYCOTT!!!!!!

  • But not paying overtime is...illegal isn't it? Can u report them to the labor board?

  • The problem is report it to... who?

No one and nothing is being regulated and hasn't been for a very long time, the people and departments that used to enforce the old laws have been gutted and/or shut down completely. In many cases the laws themselves have been altered, voted out, or overridden with new ones that are more business friendly. That's what: "deregulation" means- no regulation, no law enforcement, and no laws.

  • if they won't pay overtime, the employee punches out when they hit 40 hours. call it a week......

  • In the Uk we pay national insurance that goes towards Health trusts. The same US companys that provide heath care in the US,bid AND get to run them.

They get paid on "results",provide care for more people, provide more preventive treatments, better profits.

In the US its how many people "You dont treat".Give a worse service, treat less people MASSIVE profits, why? because THEY CAN.

Its like 2 of us go in Baskin Robbins I get a Pint for my money and the US guy gets a little cone for his cash.

  • 074August-

Under universal healthcare are people required to abstain from smoking, overeating or anything that degrades their health? If not, then I don't see why we need to pay for their lifestyle. The problem with universal healthcare is there is no responsibility required on the part of the participants. People can do what the hell they want, I could care less. However, when I have to pay the bill and I have no say you have taken away my right to choose. Where's the freedom in that?

  • WOW! I did not verify this story but it sure seems possible

  • support universal health care.

  • spare me, you lunatics. 1st jobs don't pay much because the are for kids, who live with mom & dad, for spending money. Their rents are paid by mom & dad. Time for folks to stay in school & get to college or vocational school to learn a trade or profession.

If you knuckleheads think working in BK is a career, you should seek counseling. BK is not a carrerr, go back to school.

  • If you think that workers at BK don't deserve rights, seek counseling. They are people, too. What would BK be without them, anyway?

  • gunn, you are a maniac. This is why US needs universal health care.

Allow me to explain to you the difference between rights & priviileges. Freedom of speech, bearing arms & religion are rights guaranteed. Privileges are drivers' licenses. It is not a right to have health insurance unless it is guaranteed by the constitution or agreed to by contract with the employer. Everyone is not guaranteed health care unless he/she votes for universal health care, or use public assistance.

  • Is it legal to force workers to do unpaid overtime? That's what I meant. They didn't sign up for some volunteer work at BK.

Also, lol at the "maniac" comment. Nice ad hominem. If you can't find a better way to say what you want, why say it?

  • Please, gunn, you went on about health insurance. btw, One only get overtime when one works over 40 hours a week. It is discretional if one is a parttime employee, unless stipulate with the employer.

You are a maniac. You jump from one subject to another, and expect the commenter to read your mind. There is no better way to say you are trying to provoke arguments.

If these folks are working over 40 hours a week at BK, they should be paid for the hours in excess of 40 as overtime. Ciao.

  • I didn't say anything about health insurance. What are you talking about? I'm not the one jumping from topic to topic. When was this about health insurance? It's about BK and illegal treatment of their workers. Also, stop pointless insults.

Also, it seems you have not watched bravenew's videos on BK. Go do it; this is not the only video.

To help you out; they we're FORCED to do overtime, and NOT PAYED. They probably would have wanted to work that overtime if they were payed for it.

  • gunny, you twit. BENEFITS are health insurance. This video is about BENEFITS. Don't work over 40 hours if you are not going to be paid overtime. No one can force a man or woman to stay at a job. That is why there are agencies to protect workers. btw, this video is :38.

You are blithering on, yet BENEFITS, are health insurance & you don't get it.

  • I'm still waiting for you to watch the other video.

  • You are so wrong most people that work at Bk are young mothers not kids.Kids work when they are not in school. There CEO's made enough money they could of gave each employee 18 thousand dollors

  • wrong, you mindless twit kansas, if we had universal health care in the US, young mothers & kids would not have to worry about health care. Kids are covered by their parents until they are 25 if they go on to college. If they are high school dropouts, their parents can't cover them. Universal health care is the answer, you dweeb neoconservative witch.

Don't for a moment think anyone thinks you have an ounce of brain matter, you are a stupid follower of the neocon witches.

  • It strikes me as saddening and truly disgusting that some of you seem to regard most of your fellow human beings as highly as most people regard pond scum. Obviously, the rest of us know where your loyalties lie. That notwithstanding, don't fool yourselves into thinking that the currently prevailing plutocratic system will reign eternally.

  • why only Burger King?

ho about Mc donalds ,Shell ,exxo,KFC TACO BELL??and all the other companys that pay the minimum wage to their employees?

  • well done!

    get it?

  • Whats the point of this? You want to start paying people who work at fast food restaurants $20 an hour?

  • Aero - Most ppl don't have any objections to companies or individuals paying min wage - in fact many of them have to in order to stay in business.

The problem is companies that buy other companies & then try to squeeze the lower-level employees so that instead of the CEO making $20 million, he can make $21 million per yr & other execs can get bonuses.

Mitt Romney was 1 of the experts at this - buy a company, fire the employees, then offer people their jobs back at lower wages.

  • See, that made a lot more sense to me than the video :D

  • They spit in my burger.

  • icky!!!

  • were people working at burger king meant to make a lot of money?? I mean... I am all about helping people out.. but at some point people have to take responsibility for themselves... you want to make more money? Do like President Obama said... finish high school...do some classes after high school ... you can't bail out everyone...

  • i agree on everything you said.

but a lot of the workers are parents, not just part-time teenagers, who are afraid of losing their job. when they put in their paid hours and get ready to leave and their manager tells them "no, we're too busy, you have to stay" and they don't get paid for those extra hours, that's pushing it. how are we going t oboos the economy when a fast food employee has to provide their family with welfare? they're not boosting the economy by spending and buying xboxes.

  • You seem to be suggesting these workers deserve to make poverty wages because they choose not to continue their education. What if they all go to college? Would there be enough professional jobs for them?

Some of us have to produce the food, clothing and shelter- do the actual work that keeps this country going. You benefit from their labor; they deserve your respect. Do you really think it is just to deny them a living wage?

  • Elephant.

    Sleep well suckers.

  • Is that really Drew Rosenhaus?

  • You guys should make a movie about Goldman Sachs' influence on the 2008 Presidential election and all these "bailouts" and "stimuluses". Now there's something the people need to know about.

I don't give a damn if Burger King is doing that to their employees, those dumbasses deserve it. Working for such an evil corporation that sells death and disease. They should quit or sue if their rights are being violated, and if we don't like Burger King, we should boycott like we did Kelloggs, it works.

  • I guess all people that work in fast food places are dumbasses huh?

  • Nah, a bunch of geniuses.

  • geniuses like you?

  • This is some dumb shit. You guys made a good film with Outfoxed, but everything else has been divisive, left-right paradigm, class warfare, race relations focused. And then you have the nerve to mention what Goldman Sachs is doing, knowing all throughout the 2008 Presidential campaign, Goldman Sachs was Obama's biggest funder (Obama's owner). But instead of taking an honest look at issues like that, you guys just attacked the easy target, that old dumbass McCain. You sacrificed your credibility.

  • Walmart use to do it all the time, probably still does if they can get away with it.

  • Awesome!! That was amazing! haha I thought it was really interesting. Absolutely enjoyed it!

  • government approved will kill you no doubt, i buy from bazaar market.

  • Meat and dairy products will send you to an early grave.

If it's government approved it will kill you.

  • if you work in bk spit in the rich assholes burgers as much as possible they will come back for more and keep you in a job!

  • its called geting paid for what you do. if you work at an unskilled job like burgerking then dont expect to make alot of money

  • $14,000 a year? That's horrible...[/sarcasm]

  • in other words,

    GOLD MAN SUCKS!!!

  • Ever since the Burger King guy showed up in their commercials I've stopped eating at Burger King. I just think their commercials are far too creapy and give them a rather overly disturbing image.

  • yeah, that burger king is very creepy! you ought to see some seventies commercials with him in it! a real guy played the burger king surrounded by creepy medieval characters! yeesh! found those commercials on here, by the way.

  • Let's push for the legalization of Marijuana NOW! USA is in dire need of new money and we have no more manufacturing jobs available. Growing and distributing Marijuana can be taught with "On-The-Job Training" and it can save our country, and give our citizens jobs!

:::::COPY PASTE IF YOU SUPPORT NEW MONEY FOR OUR COUNTRY!! BE A PATRIOT SAVE AMERICA!!!:::::

  • Fuck this fast food nation. Grow your own fucking food so you don't have to be assfucked by this shitte.

Or invest in your local gardening coop. It's really that simple.

XVX for life, R.A.S.H. 'til death.

  • Yeah, and btw Burger Kings (any fastfood) Is killing people and helps make a fat nation of people

  • "Yeah, and btw Burger Kings (any fastfood) Is killing people and helps make a fat nation of people"

    Let's sue 'em.

  • LOL No.....Its Everyones choice to eat where they please, just making the point that they in addition to paying low wages, etc...Their food is unhealty, thus contributing to the obesity rate...peace :)

  • LOL. Great video. This was modeled after the news conference with agent Drew Rosenhaus when T.O. was fighting with the Philadelphia Eagles, wasn't it? Good job!

Anyway - BK sucks, as does any company that fights unions. Damn, we should be about people, not trying to screw someone else over.

  • Folks, come on, use your head! This is a fast-food chain. Do you want to pay $20.00 for a hamburger? No one is getting cheated here. These people are paid what the market will allow for their skill level. Benefits? You are kidding right? Benefits would cost more than what the person makes.

  • Burger King sucks ass. Just another example of BIG CORPORATIONS shitting on the struggling working class. I don't eat that shit anyway. No wonder they have an angry whopper.

  • good now me l in Sweden stop going to burger king to eat fuck this skit company ..

  • I got food poisoning from burger king twice over 3 years.

  • i guess they're evil...but I still prefer them to mcdonalds.....

  • I got food poisoned at McDonalds... O_o I feel his pain.

  • Isn't it true that people working at Burger King can go find another job if they aren't happy with their current employment? Shut up and stop whinning. If you don't like the money flipping burgers makes you, perhaps you should have finished school Hmmmmm? I am witnessing the most opinionated, arrogant, ignorant and lazy generation ever to dwell on this planet....Hey, maybe we should FORCE employers to pay a certain minimum wage. That's brilliant.

  • Well we should FORCE employers to pay a certain minimum wage if their CEOs are literally robbing the benefits from the people.

The free market can not raise the wages in this country due to our high immigration (legal and illegal) rates that make competition for jobs go awry.

If someone is willing to flip burgers for 5k a year, why pay an American enough to actually have a roof over their heads, eat, save money, be healthy, AND participate in the free economy?

    Ya.. that's brilliant.

  • "Well we should FORCE employers to pay a certain minimum wage if their CEOs are literally robbing the benefits from the people."

That's socialism and stupid. The market dictates what you are worth-not the government. If you are making minimum wage, you are either in your first job....or retarded. If you don't like making 2 bucks an hour at AppleBee's, GET A NEW JOB. AppleBee's for example, had to cut all cleaning, to make up for this mandated pay increase. So now, you get a dirty Appplebee's

  • "The free market can not raise the wages in this country due to our high immigration (legal and illegal) rates that make competition for jobs go awry."

Hmmmmmm, I know a solution. Enforce the law.

And how skilled are you when you are threatened by an illegal immigrant to take your job? I suppose if I cut grass(like I did when I was 12) I might worry about losing my job to an immigrant.

  • How skilled am I? Well that doesn't matter.

Companies outsource call centers to india all the time. Does that mean that people lost their jobs because there weren't enough qualified english speakers to do the job? Or did they just figure they'd save a temptingly large amount of money that way?

If Americans were educated enough to understand how to properly boycott companies that pay their CEOs millions that they save by laying off thousands of workers, then things would be better.

  • "How skilled am I? Well that doesn't matter."

    Of coarse it matters, simpleton.

"Companies outsource call centers to india all the time."

I would too! If I HAD to pay you (an unskilled worker) more than you were worth, I would go to India as well.

"Does that mean that people lost their jobs because there weren't enough qualified english speakers "

No, it means that a monkey can answer the phone, so I will not be FORCED to pay them more than they are worth. I move my company.

  • Ok... My job when I worked as a call center was to help people activate their phones, lower their bills, be satisifed, etc...

We dealt with unruly customers, we helped make the customer experience better, helped them make better decisions, and save the company from losing their customers.

You autmoaticaly assume that I am an unintelligent, unskilled, worker means that you are an arrogant moron.

    1. I have skills I'm having a hard time finding work with them.

    2. Location matters more than skil

  • I wonder about that outsourcing....because...isn't it 'take care of your own first'? I'm an american living overseas, and before I can get a company to hire me here, they will pick a native before me.....even if they have to pay that person more. So what does that say about the companies who outsource? Its all about money? And then, what does that say about us as americans?

  • I would love to disassociate myself with Americans. I am not all about the money. I don't ask for much.

Healthcare (should be my right since companies love to not give you the care you pay for under "Preexisting condition")

    A roof over my head,

    Food

    Transportation

    Water

    Electricity

A few hundred to save up each month,

and the ability to participate in this economy so that I can tell companies that I support them by giving them money for their services.

    Is any of that unreasonable?

  • "that's socialism stupid"

So then you support getting rid of the U.S. Postal service, the Police Department, and all other socialist ideas?

Oh ya by the way great way to generalize all minimum wagers as being in their first job or retarded... Maybe they have bad luck, maybe they like their job, maybe they are just scared of being jobless and are trying to find a new job MAYBE THE ECONOMY IS IN THE SHITTER AND THERE AREN'T ENOUGH JOBS!

Capitalism requires a higher minimum standard of living.

  • "If someone is willing to flip burgers for 5k a year,"

THAN THAT'S WHAT THE JOB IS WORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we should FORCE them to pay for your kid to go to school. Let's FORCE them to hire a certain number od this colored skin. Let's FORCE themn to pay our electric bills, our vacations, our health care, our mortgage.....Get a life. Get an education, and get a skill that can't be replaced by an ignorant fool who can't even speak english. What a novel idea. Good grief.

  • If I make a product and the government tells me that I must pay the employees more than they are worth, I simply move my company elsewhere. Sound familiar? Yeah, it's real brilliant.

  • The reason why we don't have places where people live, work, and are unable to escape because they don't have money, and aren't paid enough for the work that they do, is because we have laws.

Nike pays less than 25 cents in labor for shoes that they sell for hundreds. Are you saying that their labor and the damage done to them from working slave labor (practically) is essentially all they are worth?

Seriously you live in some weird fantasy dimension I swear

  • "Nike pays less than 25 cents in labor for shoes that they sell for hundreds. Are you saying that their labor and the damage done to them from working slave labor (practically) is essentially all they are worth?"

If .25 cents was not sufficient, they wouldn't work there, would they? Did someone force them to fill out an application? And if those Nike shoes were not worth $100, people would not BUY THEM!!!!! I live in reality, You live in a world that I hope I never see.

  • You claim to live in reality, yet you claim that all prices paid for products mean that they are worth said price.

Case in point people buy HDMI cables under 7 feet in length often times at a cost of 20-30 dollars and even up to a price of 100 dollars.

A digital signal does not get affected at that distance, whether you are running the signal through an unbent metal clothes hanger, or a gold plated insulated cable.

A 5 dollar cable works just as good as the 100 dollar 1.

    Consumers are stupid

  • "Consumers are stupid "

No argument here. I didn't say they are "worth" that, I said that the market dictates what they are worth. When the market gets wise about your 1 dollar cable, it will dictate that the HDMI cable is worth a buck. They either adjust or stop making cables to sell. BTW, thanks for the info.

  • No problem on the info. See the thing is a capitalistic society requires educated people. Without proper education people can not properly understand concepts such as "Worth" and "Value" therefor the entire balance becomes shifted, and the free market fails.

If people were more educated we wouldn't have a federal reserve, we wouldn't have to legislate wages or anything.

In some socialist countries there is no minimum wage and taxes are the same no matter how much you make. Not bad huh?

  • "a capitalistic society requires educated people"

While I agree with much of what you said, I would add that it requires a certain amount of trust and integrity in order for people to invest capital. This is primarily the reasom why trying to establish a "democracy in an Islamic country is stupid on steriods. It will never happen-it can't happen. The lack of trust and integrity would also explain our current status in America, wouldn't it?

  • America isn't even a democracy. We're a republic trying to spread a democracy to some Iraqis because some saudis who fled to afghanistan flew some planes into out buildings, and so Bush decided to use that opprotunity to finish what his dad started, and to get his agendas pushed.

The sooner Bush takes personal responsibility for the mess he CAUSED the better.

  • aga said-"If .25 cents was not sufficient, they wouldn't work there, would they" thats as stupid and ignorant i statement i have ever heard. So what are these people supposed to do. You seem to think that WORKING IS AN OPTION. pull your head out of your ass. what would make you think that people have the luxury of choosing to work or not? They don't have to eat or have a roof over their heads? if they don't like those wages-turn to crime?

  • "stupid and ignorant i statement i have ever heard."

Did someone make them go fill out an application, you mental giant? It's people like you who are dependant on the government to raise the minimum wage. Here's a news flash: If you don't like your job-don't show up to it. Go find another one BUT make sure you accept the terms of that new job so you can later bitch about it. Myrmidon

  • So you are blaming the fact that burger king workers are in poverty on them? Grow some mirror neurons in your brain.

Some people need any job they can get, and they don't deserve to be treated like shit because of that. If burger king is going to have employees, they should treat them right.

  • "So you are blaming the fact that burger king workers are in poverty on them?"

Imagine that. You are responsible for the choices you make. There are consequences for your choices believe it or not.. Grow up and recognize that it isn't the blame game. Would it be better if BK said no when they came BEGGING for a job? Your generation is lazy, ignorant and unable to take personal responsibility for any actions they do. It's frightening. It confirms that the USA is a dead country walking.

  • So the employees are responsible for the upper management's treatment of them? Come on. Have some humility. You are making the biggest fundamental attribution error. You can't blame the situation on them.

"Your generation is lazy" I don't see how this ties to that. Maybe some workers won't work until they are paid as promised. Otherwise, what is wrong with you? Like I said, do you have any empathy? How would you feel if your employer didn't pay you for your work?

  • "So the employees are responsible for the upper management's treatment of them? "

This has been about money from the beginning so stay on topic would ya? Yes, the amount of money they make is their responsibility. If there is other issues, show me the evidence.

"if your employer didn't pay you for your work? "

That's a whole new story. We were talking about people making minimum wage for flipping burgers-not theft.

  • I'm on topic, smartass. The little money they make is their fault? They decide how much upper management in burger king pays them? "Durrhurrhur!" You want evidence? Watch these fucking videos! They are forced to work overtime and not payed for it, and out of the money burger king got for it's employees, all of the bonuses went to the non-working class. It's not hard for you to just realize that you are blaming them for something they have little control over. Just shut the fuck up and admit it!

  • "The little money they make is their fault? "

Yeah, see, when you APPLY for a job, they tell you how much you are worth to them. You either agree or you say no thank you.

"They decide how much upper management in burger king pays them? "Durrhurrhur!"

They decide if they will work for the money offered to them.

" You want evidence? Watch these fucking videos!"

    LOL That speaks volumes.

  • "They are forced to work overtime and not payed for it,"

That's a different topic. That is illegal and that is why we have laws. Rather than bitch and moan, just produce the evidence and get a lawyer. That is an open and shut case.

  • Try getting a lawyer on those wages. I think you'll find the cost far outweighs the gain. Unless you think we should have a socialized system of law, but somehow I doubt you meant that.

  • First of all, if you had evidence that employees worked over time without compensation, BK would never expose themselves to a law suit where the conclusion is open and shut. They can't win against that....so why take the publicity smash? Second, if they WERE that ignorant, I am positive that you could find a host of lawyers to take the high profile case pro bono.

  • The odds are they'll just be let go if they complain and stand up for themselves and on those sort of wages they'll be living day to day and can't afford it. The system benefits those who can pay the most. Most of these people are not in a position to fight, since it may mean not working and so being evicted and possibly going homeless. Besides, how are they to prove they worked overtime and did not get paid? It isn't like the company couldn't just forget to keep records and claim ignorance.

  • With the job situation the last few years, they may not have a choice. Still, it'll be nice, with the deepening recession and maybe depression, to see those who created and voted or facilitated the imposition of the present system faced with these sort of choices. It is all bitching and moaning till the shoe ends on your foot. Just so you know, I've never worked at those sort of jobs and hope I never do, but with the way things are going, you never know where you might end up.

  • zzzz

Way to go; you made countless false correlations in your obtuse attempt at an argument. Your way of thinking is so fundamentally flawed.

No, it is not their fault that their employers treat them like shit. You need to learn that the world isn't a "just world." Things don't "happen for reasons." You've made many small mind fallacies with just this one argument. Think about both ends of the conflict: what is the goal of this treatment of employees (by upper management)?

  • People's choices are limited by their socioeconomic status. Social mobility is largely a myth. Those who go from rags to riches are the exception, not the rule. If you're born into a poor family, you're likely to die poor. If you're born into riches, you'll stay rich. (Just look at Paris Hilton. She makes lots of bad choices but she is going to stay rich.) If your parents are middle-class, the chances of ending up on a higher rung of the economic ladder are far smaller than you think.

  • Am I in the twilight zone? You actually believe that you will end up how you were born? Well, aren't you the motivator? Luckily, people are smashing up your little model daily and I could point to a myriad of examples but you know that, don't you?

  • "Just look at Paris Hilton. She makes lots of bad choices but she is going to stay rich."

LOL What I said was: There are consequences for your choices. She might have money but didn't she go to jail? If you quit school, you will likely be saying "want fries with that"? This is nothing new. If you flip burgers, you will be making peanuts. This is not a new revelation.

Otherwise, everyone would be dropping out of school to get that fine new career at Burger King.

  • Bottom line is, we need the workers. Even if everyone who is born of working class parents gets a college degree, most of them will have to take working class jobs. We can't all be CEOs.

The working class student can stay in school, attend a public university and possibly get a nice middle class job, or not. Enterprise Rentals only hires college grads, but pays working class wages.

We should be working toward having a more egalitarian society in which all workers are respected..

  • Look around you at all the people you know personally. What percentage of people do you know who went from working class to middle class? from middle class to upper class?

How about you? Are you one of the wealthy elites now? Why not? You're just not choosing to be fabulously wealthy?

"It is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven." Why did Jesus say this? Because the rich profit unjustly from the labor of the poor.

  • "How about you? Are you one of the wealthy elites now? Why not? You're just not choosing to be fabulously wealthy?"

No, I am not wealthy. I do however, make a pretty good "hourly rate". I CHOOSE not to work but a few hours a week. I spend my other time with my daughter. I can always make money-I can't always have young daughter. That is the choice I made.

  • "It is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven." Why did Jesus say this? Because the rich profit unjustly from the labor of the poor. "

LOL First, His name isn't "Jesus". Second, being rich is not a sin. He didn't say "the root of all evil is money". It is the LOVE of money. Being wealthy isn't a crime to God. But unfortunately it usually brings upon an arrogance, prideful and self reliant nature-and that is a sin.

  • Oops, almost forgot to tell you His real name....Yahushua-it means Yahuweh(God's name) is salvation.

  • A camel CAN NOT get through the eye of a needle. Basically the Jesus is telling you rich people CAN NOT get into heaven. I don't see how you can interpret Jesus' words any other way. Jesus preached that you should give up your worldly goods.

Lol-who cares what you choose to call him; a rose is a rose and by any other name would still smell as sweet.

  • "Lol-who cares what you choose to call him; "

Who cares? He does. That's why He says to know His name, to worship His name, to honor His name, to educate others about His name, to exult His name and to pray in His name. The reason God gave His name exactly 7000 times in Scripture is so that we wouldn't be fooled by false Gods. His name tells us volumes. It has meaning, and it answers mankinds' most fundemental question(does God exist). Yes, names are important...at least to Him.

  • And if you wanna delve into scripture, I can show you where God says "My Family shall know my name". Hmmm.

You will never hear the truth in Church(the very name is pagan LOL). They busy themselves drenched in sun god worship rather than emmersed in His Word. It's why you have no idea how Christmas and Easter connect with scripture. The answer is...they don't. It's why you don't know the day and year of the most important day in human history-His sacrifice.

  • It's why you think Sunday worship is some how connected to God when it isn't. Here's the bottom line, since you brought it up: If you see your neighbor everyday and say "hey dude", or "hey man", or "what's up bud", and you don't even know that his real name is Steve, for example, how well do you really know him?

  • As far as the quote goes, the disciples were of the mindset that if a man was rich, Yahweh must have blessed him—hence he was favored by God and would surely have a prominent role in the kingdom of heaven. On the contrary, Yahshua observed that more often than not, a rich mans wealth is an impediment to faith, not the result of it.

  • The accumulation of wealth can, in this sinful world, and as this video is suggesting, result just as easily from greed and aggression as it can from Gods blessings upon our labors. As He pointed out, one cannot serve two masters. The illustration of the camel going through the eye of a needle (Greek raphis, a sewing needle) gets to the heart of the matter.

  • The Aramaic word Yahshua probably used, gamla, can mean either camel or rope (since ropes were made from camels hair). Either way, the point is not (as is often taught) that the camel must be unloaded—the wealth put down—before one can enter; rather, the point is the utter impossibility of man entering the kingdom of heaven through his own efforts. No matter how hard he tries, he cant work his way in, and no matter how rich he is, he cant buy his way in. Only Yahweh can provide access.

  • You claim to have made a choice, perhaps this is what you believe, that it was your choice to remain working class.

Did you turn down an offer from an Ivy League school? That would have been a choice. Choosing to work part time making working class wages or to work full time making the same wages, that's not choosing to remain in the working class. But i don't think you really had much of a choice and you just aren't willing to see the truth.

  • Look simpleton, I don't leave the house if I don't make $60 an hour. I CHOOSE to work only a few hours because I desire to be with my daughter. We get by.

I admit that I am blessed to be in my position, as I could be far worse off. I would be a professional athelete had I not CHOSE to skip school, drink, smoke, and chase girls. I could be retired from the Marines right now had I not DECIDED to get out. We are all exactly where we are because of a long list of choices that we have made in life.

  • almost all ppl stay in the same socioeconomic lvl they were born with throughout their lives

  • "THAN THAT'S WHAT THE JOB IS WORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Your views on life are far too simplistic.

There are a lot of people who have gone to harvard, yale, etc... that ended up having to flip burgers for a while because that was the only job that they were able to get right away due to what ever circumstance.

Are you saying that the world works perfectly on its own and that it's their fault they can't find a job therefore they shouldn't have the means to provide basic necessities?

  • "There are a lot of people who have gone to harvard, yale, etc... that ended up having to flip burgers for a while because that was the only job that they were able to get right away due to what ever circumstance."

So what? Pick a field that is marketable! I assure you that if you got to school to fix TV's, or the textile inductry....you will starve. The "what ever circumstance" is that a degree in underwater basket weaving, will leave you jobless-PHD or not.

  • Marketability isn't the question.

My skills are in computers and their maintenance. My skills are in communication and customer service. My skills are in teaching and helping other people be able to have skills of their own.

I have a lot of things that I want to do, but I am still in the very early part of my adult life. I'm going through a lot of other problems right now. Employment doesn't cover tuition costs. I have not mastered my skills, the market is terrible right now.

    LIFE IS COMPLEX!

  • 'an ignorant fool who can't even speak english'..

so people who don't speak english are stupid?

  • "so people who don't speak english are stupid?"

    No, Nice try.

We are speaking of American jobs. If I lose my American job to someone who can not speak English, that speaks volumes about the skill of my job....doesn't it?

  • No it doesn't. It often speaks volumes of the corporation, their desire to pay themselves high bonuses, and to do what ever it takes to benefit them as much as possible even at the cost of thousands of jobs.

Has the bail out taught you nothing? At the VERY least it should teach you about corporate greed.

You act as though all outsourcing is directly tied to the skills of the people working that job. You act as though them losing their job meant that they were incompetent fools.

  • The bail out is a whole new topic. America is not run by our president., In fact our president isn't even constitutionally elegible. The bankers run the show. The dollar will be crushed further so a new currency can replace it. You are watching the death of America.

  • That is why I am worried about getting an education in America. I am trying to find a way to get to save up money soon enough that I can go to another country before everything collapses.

I took leave of school in order to save money. I made stupid choices like moving out of my parents house and into an apartment with what I thought was a friend. They didn't pay rent. I lost all my savings, I have to start over again. I work for minimum wage.

Shit happens, at least I'm trying damn it.

  • Rather than bitch about the guy who gave you a job, perhaps you should complain that you work 4 months a year for free! Yes, a third of your income is illegally taken by the governemnt to pay INTEREST on loans from the federal reserve. This economy could be fixed in three months! All they have to do is let people keep their money and it would all go away, but they will never do that because the myrmidons might wake from their slumber and realize how much is taken from them each week.

  • So many things wrong with that statement.

    1. The economy could not be fixed in a week.

    2. The amount of money I pay in taxes, deductions, social security, etc... is no more than 100 dollars which would not be enough.

    3. Again stop paying taxes? So you'd rather pay some private agent money to find a criminal that broke into your house than call the police? Or just let people drink and drive freely rather than pay taxes?

I'm all for anarchism, but not at America's current chaotic messy state

  • 4. You may have more money if you stopped paying taxes, but I really wouldn't. Your solution does not fix any problem but your own. Doesn't fix mine or other people that don't even make enough money to be taxed (and still afford living expenses)

  • "1. The economy could not be fixed in a week."

The plan I mentioned would fix it in 3 months.

"2. The amount of money I pay in taxes, deductions, social security, etc... is no more than 100 dollars which would not be enough."

Taxes account for a THIRD. That means you work 4 months a year, for free. If your taxes are only 100, that means you only make about 300(approx). Imagine what you'd collect from those who make serious money.

  • "3. Again stop paying taxes? So you'd rather pay some private agent money to find a criminal that broke into your house than call the police? Or just let people drink and drive freely rather than pay taxes?"

There's the problem, right there. You think your taxes pay for that? I just told you what they pay for-INTEREST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's it!!!!! Every gallon of gas you buy has taxes which pay for roads etc. Property taxes pays for police and schools etc. If we only knew........

  • Furthermore, it's funny you mention that because a guy just came through my window at 3 am the other night. I found out that he is awaiting court for something else for "dealing in stolen prop", and "grand theft". However, he simply told the "police" that he was afraid and running from some mystery attacker. No charges were filed! He busted my window at 3 am! Over $600 worth of damage to my house....no charges. My daughter can't sleep....no charges. Police are worthless.

  • So, yes, I'd (personally) rather pay "some private agent". The name of said agent is Smith & Wesson. I can only speak for my locality and the ones I have visited but I suggest they change their motto from "protect and serve", to "Harass and generate income".

  • It must be nice to afford the money to be able to pay a private agent.

Do you think everyone has that kind of money?

  • You question was "would you rather"? Therefore, I could use my property tax money to make the purchase. It would serve me much better than any police officer.

Have you ever watched the film "From freedom to facism"? You should.

  • I know that the fed needs to be taken out. I've mentioned that.

The thing is though... even if the police are often times incompetent... it still doesn't change the fact that there are way too many sick people in the country right now, that would instantly turn to crime if the Police were gone. Without at least a deterrent, things look mighty grim for America.

Unfortunately police corruption, politician corruption, and business corruption in this country may be far too high to fix in my life.

  • No taxes do not account for a THIRD.

Actually this year I'm getting allt he money I paid in taxes back.

last year I got most of it back.

If I get a stimulus I'll be getting back more money than I paid in taxes for the 2 years I've been working (before that was in college and only worked part time and made hardly anything at all.

I know my dad would make a lot more money back, but for people who NEED the money desperately they'd possibly lose money due to stimulus and tax return amounts.

  • "Actually this year I'm getting allt he money I paid in taxes back."

Please tell me how you are getting all your sales tax, excise tax, MUD tax, fuel tax, utilities tax, FCC tax, and property tax back this year. Thanks.

  • Well I don't pay property taxes, and with teh stimulus I'll be getting more back in taxes than I paid in taxes because my refund will cover all the money I am paying in taxes anwyay...

Last year I had a really rough year, and was aout of work most of the year. I only made about 5k.

besides we're talking about income tax anyway. The rest of those taxes are essentially a moot point.

  • Income tax is illegal. Do the research.

  • I have done the research. Problem is I don't make enough money to benefit from not paying income taxes. If I did refuse to pay income taxes, then i would not get as high a rebate, and the 800 dollar stimulus is enough to give me back more than the money I pay into income taxes. So it's actually in my best interest to pay income taxes because I will at least get every penny I paid into it, and possibly more at the time being.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL what a sad commentary.

I guess I would pay them too

  • "Well I don't pay property taxes"

Unless you're homeless, you pay property taxes whether you realize it or not.

"The rest of those taxes are essentially a moot point. "

The rest of those taxes account for about 20% of the average American's income, regardless if they pay any income tax at all.

As an example, TT&L on a new car is about 3 grand now. Not a small chunk of change and it's really hurting the auto industry as a whole. I wouldn't call that a "moot" point.

  • "No taxes do not account for a THIRD."

Must be my imagination when I SEE IT EVERY SINGLE payday. Crack a book and shed your ignorance. This is common knowledge. Yes, you probably don't pay 35% because you make 10K a year. The rest of society is making up for you-believe that.

"I'll be getting back more money than I paid in taxes "

That sounds like a brilliant plan to get the country going again. That's called socialism.

  • 1. Yes the rest of society is making up for the taxes I don't pay. If i was paid decent wages to the point that I could afford taxes, then... things would be different.

    2. The free market economy REQUIRES people like me to be able to afford to spend 100-200 dollars a month at least on luxury items. If we can not afford to do such then how are we going to assign any sort of value or worth to ANYTHING?

Bill Gates is not buying most of the ipods and Macs.

    3. You really don't understand socialism

  • Raise the minimum wage? Allow unions to form? Mmmm... Yo Quero Taco Bell

  • down on the ceo's but you all think it's fine for a sports person to make that kind of cash........im getting mixed signals here.

  • no, it's pretty insane that a baseball player or basketball player can make millions a year.....

I always thought that teachers should be the best paid because we trust them w/ our children......but that's just my opinion.......

  • Teachers should not be the best paid.

Teachers should be paid based on how effective they are at teaching.

Also I would love to make 14 thousand a year. I'm currently making 10k a year.. Soon to be unemployed because the physical labor was too much on my body.

To make 15k a year after taxes would be a breath of fresh air. I finished high school, I started college. Our teachers were so shitty that I passed tests after ditching class for a week due to stress.

    American education is crap IMO

  • you're right about american education...I"m an american living in italy and their public schools are much better then ours (yes I'm a product of public schools), and here the teachers make even less then they do in the states. But maybe if they got paid better they'd do a better job, happy employes are more productive (well, that's what they say)

Oh yeah, when I say Italian schools are better, I mean academically, my son comes home complaining that there's never toilet paper!!!!! :)

  • watch earthlings on google video - GO VEG

  • Not every job should have benifits. I'm ok with burger king paying lower wages because I see that job moreso for teenagers looking for extra cash than adults. And if adults are working there then we need to examine the choices they made in their lives that have led them to work there.

  • Starmexus84:

Oh really? So what ARE you going to do with these adults who have been forced to work at BG for a living, just let them and rot?

  • well said....

  • Star-so if you work at a low paying job, you shouldn't be entitled to healthcare, dental care or some kind of pay if you have health problems and can't work for a period. The most hypocritical part of this argument, is that most of the people who are against these issues have all of these benefits and want to deny these to others that don't. I can't believe someone with out them would be against them.. This is what is call SELFISH AND GREEDY!!

  • The deeper problem is how we don't make stuff in America like we used to. These kinds of jobs were meant for teenagers to have pocket money. Only the manager was an adult who relied on it for a full time job as a sole source of income.

We off shored our manufacturing and just set up things for ruin.

  • A friend of mine worked at BK for at least two years and he worked ridiculous hours with lots of overtime and he was still in massive debt. I can't see how anyone could live off a wage working at BK.

  • I work at Arby's, let me tell you what it's like, work your butt off for minimum wage, no benefits, and discrimination against older workers

  • they should have stayed in school. we all know that you cant work at burger king for the rest of your life. what do u expect?!

  • We expect them to give our working class decent wages, that's what we expect. Look I am a computer technician and Web Designer. I am not part of the "Working Class" any longer. Yet just because all a person does is provide their "Labor" and that's what makes them part of the "Working Class" doesn't mean they shouldn't receive decent wages. Not everyone can be a Suit and Tie guy. If everyone was, who the hell would do the rest of the jobs. The working class that's whom, so lets support them.

  • thats not what i was trying to say. if you are over 40 and work at a fast food joint... you failed. its burger king, its not supposed to be a permanent job for like 10 years. you work there as a temp job for a little while until you can find a real job. whether it be in construction or in engineering. its a crapy job everyone knows its a crappy job.

  • Well you have to understand that the only people who usually work at Burger king, are elderly people and young people, as well as single mothers or people looking for extra money. Just because "Burger King" is perceived as a crappy job, doesn't necessarily mean that people should get crappy wages. Wal-Mart is a crappy job also, but both Wal-Mart and Burger king are HUGE companies, and should share the wealth with their employees, which are keeping their company afloat.

  • i know but these people need to stop settling with mediocrity and do something. find a carrier other than flipping burgers. and your job shouldnt involve saying would u like fries with that.

  • bello787878

then whose gonna flip the burgers when you roll in?
