  • I am sorry but I doubt the dog wanted to play, I have played with plenty of rough dogs, and watched rough dogs play but they have never caused real injuries.

  • thats how my dog does with my rabbits. he just wants to play with the rabbit but then he picks it up by the neck (i presume) and it dies...he then just sits there like he is waiting to play with it again... he is a lab mixed with german shepherd(most likely) and who knows what else. so that dog maybe was playing too rough but they should not have left them alone!! even on it's me or the dog, she tells them to supervise kids to make sure they dont hug the dog or play too rough

  • @PettoPrincess88 when im with that dog he does not touch the rabbits in any way. it is just when the rabbit decides to find a way out of its outdoor cage and ran around without me there that my dog kills it. its NOT a bloody mess, i really think he just picks it up too hard. it could be the doberman too but I never see who does it now. we used to just have the lab mix so we knew he done it. the last bunny got out through the feeder hole when the feeder fell :/ we've made changes now ofcourse

  • @PettoPrincess88 Our Pit Bull would follow our pet rabbit around the table. Just around and 'round they go. The rabbit died a few months later because I guess it got a nasty itch to jump and it broke its neck when it slammed into the cage. I talked to another guy that owns rabbits and he said, that happens sometimes.....rabbits are twitchy and will go jump crazy in the cage.

    I never knew that.
