Hang on, did it occur to anybody that if Jimi did appear on this track it would probably be to Mr Hitsons benifit if he did say " Yeah sure, Jimi was on that record.". However from the research our good video posting friend has done it would seem Mr Hitson has chosen to set the record straight. Cool tune and all, glad I heard it, but I think this time I will go with the person who has bothered to find out.
Chillwill knows... respect to you... Herman Hitson and Jimi jammed and the results are raw; but to me , awesome ! i got some of Herman's soul stuff too, that is the real deal, I'm telling you !
this sounds like is was made in the late 70s or 80s cuz thats when surfers started poppin up i think... and yea i noticecd that it doesnt exactly sound like jimi but similar
I bought that "Free Spirt" album (33rpm) in the late 70's early 80's. It had a dark gold cover with some image on it. It was mostly instrumentals. I got/had this Suspicion on a tape (probalby import), along with Let The Good Times Roll, How Would You Feel, Odd Ball, Gloomy Monday, etc.
come on man thats jimi i bought the record in the video when i was 14 used to get really stoned and one time i got really paranoid that it might be someone else...but really who's gives a shit it's a beautiful track and i loved all that early stuff...
Hermon Hitson has in fact co-written or written a few of Hendrix's tunes... do the research (Hermon's name is on at least one of Hendrix's album jackets) - I've seen it with my own eyes and have read newspaper articles (Atlanta Journal & Constitution) to support what I am stating here. I was actually a 'protege' of Hermon Hitson in my late teens and early twenties. And....'beatcreeper' if you actually did the song.. would you give a shit then?
This material always is in a grey area, people arent sure who recorded it. Who ever is playing this is playing in the style of Hendrix but something seams out of place.
really cool -and yes it is jimmy Hendrix -thanks for all the info -I have amost every thing that hendrix has recorded -but not this one -so thanks a lot -may peace be with you !-love and life -gus
it doesn't sound like a jimi song, however, this is still a very nice song. I enjoyed it, Hitson did a good job with this song, never heard of him too haha.
When I was a kid about 35 yrs ago , I had an album called Jimi Hendrix Rare Mood , it was all insrumental blues , I only remember the title of one song it was " So called Friend " I 've gone through my mothers attic many times looking for the album , and I've searched the internet , but can't find anything on it .
I got a beat up version of that record. Might be called "Moods", mostly all instrumentals. I use to have the "Free Spirit" album, I always accepted it as early Hendrix.
either early hendrix or the psychadelic rock band "frigid pink" which often get mistaken for hendrix i dunno how though coz ive never heard nething like this although his early stuff was similar
I got another song called Suspicious that supposley Hendrix played on & Hitson sang lead on it. The song here was put out a a lot of records in the 70's just under diffirent titles like Bring My Baby Back & Voices. I got both of the songs on cd & lp
A man painted this picture for me(left). looks nearly identical, I always wondered which pic he took it from. but yeah, I would of been suspicious of this being Jimi, even without the info. Thank you very much though
Thanks...there is another version of suspicious..sounds like it was done the same time as Love,Hush Now..etc...a lot darker and moodier...would love to hear it again.
It's these: 1. Goot Times 2. Voices 3. Suspicious 4. Whipper 5. Bessie Mae 6. Soul Food 7. Voice in The Wind 8. Free Spirit 9. Good Feeling 10. Hot Trigger 11. Psyco 12. Come on Baby part 1 13. Come on Baby part 2 14. Night Life 15. You Got It
Ooh thanks for clearing up this confusion! I have an album called Good Times, where is this track and the Free Spirit song you were talking about (I also put it on youtube, check my vids). Anyway it's called Hot Trigger there and there are other songs which I'm not certain of ^^
its actually called hot trigger, suspicious is more like an early rap beat type of song not like this which is more like a classical guitar song on electric
Yeah, Hermon is correct. The sessions were recorded/produced by Johnny Brantley in New York. Hendrix did do some session work with Brantley, but Hermon and another GA native, Lonnie Youngblood, were recording with Brantley as well.
Hermon did a couple of 45s on the Minit label produced by Brantley, and one of his friends, Lee Moses, recorded the majority of his entire catalog with Brantley.
These sessions were passed off as Hendrix sessions to make money, but Jimi's not here.

Sounds like they wanted to jam on Del Shannon's Runaway...if it's Hendrix, definitely early-1963-64.

All controversy aside with all the "It is.. or it isn't.."
It has some fat rhythm. And I dig it.

Nice song, but I cant hear Hendrix. Too many notes played too straight, not his phrasing. But Who Knows, I might be wrong...

There are also 4 records which I am certain that they are from the New York jam with Jim Morrison in 1968, althought they have different names here.
