They should tax assets over 10million dollars of individuals and corporations. Consumption taxes and income taxes reduce consumption which dimenishes the capitalistic economic cycle. Asset taxes stimulate the capitalistic economic cycle since those with assets cannot afford to sit on them instead the must find ways to make even more income. Also since assets are valued in currency terms and except for intangebles are tied to the land they are typically difficult to ship overseas.

@constanceswanson well all the times I applied for food stamps (yes I'm a welfare queen) I need my paper work if something was off or if my DD 2-14 was faded i would have to wait back in line again. I do fell that people are abusing the system lord knows I am but I feel welfare is a way of holding the poor back and a way of keeping my from robing your house and keeping hungry gangs from forming. infact that's how the Taliban got big they were poor and hungry and blamed the rich so now you know

Yeah, the ONLY solutions are (1) to beg the feds for money or (2) raise taxes.
If HARD WORKING people are so strapped that they cannot afford to feed their OWN children, then so sorry for the rest who wish to ROB THEM.
The fact remains, if our own government wasn't selling us out to the banking cartels, we COULD afford TWICE the social programs we currently have.
This "problem" is not about the "welfare state". This problem is about our monetary system being set up to rob us ALL.
