So amazing... The harmonies are perfectly captured by whoever made this video. But what the hell? Why did you stop mid-song? Tell me it was an accident! Well, even with half the song, it's still so great.
Hey, can anybody tell this frustrated mediocre fingerpicker what tuning the guy playing the intro and lead is using? REK seems to be playing in D (verse begins in A, but has his guitar capoed to the 5th fret, which makes it a D, right?) But the other guy (sorry, I don't know his name) seems to be doing something weird that looks like he's starting in with a C or something like that. Is he playing in simple drop D tuning? Tab, anyone?
Great version of a great song. Wish I could play the intro.
@ReallyImWorking Verse does begin with the A fingering, but the verse actually begins on the 5 chord (the base chord is the "D" fingering). He's playing in the key of G, but out of the D position.
Beautiful!

You're telling Rich Brotherton how to play a guitar?

?! Um, no. The frustrated mediocre fingerpicker is *me*, not him.
At my level of skill, I think I can safely say I can't tell anyone how to play the guitar.
I.e. I'm not very good.

Thank you for posting this.
I love Robert's music, and he does a fine job on this Townes Van Zandt composition.
