I think you missed one part of your function check: dry fire, keep the trigger depressed, cock the rifle, release the trigger, squeeze the trigger again, and the striker should fire - that tests for the infamous CZ858 Gremlin.
That chipped wood particle board handgrip and stock looks like ass in my opinion. Would be way nicer with cheap wood even. How would you say you like it? Its way more affordable than a mini-30. I have been thinking about getting one, especialy since its a milled reciever. What do you say?
The butt plate screw? No problems getting that off but the screw holding the stock on, yes; it's like it was screwed on my some huge communist mutant.

One thing I'm having problems with is my rear retainer pin is nearly impossible to get out, I had to use a hammer and slightly knock the pin out, it was like stuck, even pushing it in is fairly complicated. Is this normal? Any way to make the pin looser?

The CZ858 itself is non-restricted. There is another variant that is non-restricted due to barrel length, like the VZ58 imported by Marstar. Marstar offers a non-restricted version with a chrome lined barrel called the VZ58L
When i first bought my CZ 6 months ago, i went to clean it after firing it couldnt figure out for the life of me how to take the receiver cap off. Then i figured out the gun has to be decoked due to spring tention.
I am sure they are not different.. but ive checked all VZ/CZ58 dissassembly vids and you all pull it out and put it back on in a flash... I will have to bring my rifle to the gunsmith, because since day one, The bolt vcarrier is WAY to big to fit it in that fast.. usually when god loves me and im having a good day it takes a minimum of 2min to put it in :(
Dave.. How the HELL did you put the bolt carrier in so quickly.. I have the restricted version of that rifle, and man sometimes It can take me up to 3min to fit it in. Its way too tight!
I really don't know what to say other than make sure the bolt is pushed fully forward when it's in the bolt carrier but I'm sure you've already tried that. I've never handled the restricted version so I don't know if the tolerances are much different but I don't imagine they'd be any different.

Ever have any problems taken the butt stock off?the butt plate screw on mine is jammed or somthing... it is a bran new gun too.

drill out that rivit and you have your 30rd clip. Watch out for barrel temp. black fore stock and folding stock make this gun look even better!

you know that the gun doesent have to be driefired you can just halfcock it and then hold down the trigger and release the bolt. It works on mine
