  • The CA18 is a 1.8l and the SR20 is a 2.0l(hence 1 and 20 in the names) but I picked a CA18 over a SR20 for my 240 because the SR20 hasan illuminum head, while the CA18 is metal, so it's a bit more reliable, although it doesn't push out as much power as an SR20, and they aren't extremely popular like the SR20.

  • @SRT4Murkin

really? The heads are both aluminum (illuminum), and also both metal. The CA is a cast iron block and the SR is and aluminum block. The engine block has next to nothing to do with reliability. The amount of power it takes to blow up any stock block would kill off the pistons, rod and valves long before the block is put to the test.

  • you niggas fall for trolls too easily.

  • All that power from a 1.8l engine that still probably gets 30+mpg. This is why I love imports/4 cyls.

  • @M1911A1 that thing is a dyno queen not streetable at all .yet alone 30mpg

  • @brown029 I've seen built 500+hp H22 Civics that are totally streetable and DO get 30 mpg hwy with the right tune.

And I would hardly call this car a "dyno queen".

  • Does anyone has any details spec's on this engine? Or knows who owns it?

  • that has a nissan skyline engin in it

  • @MrFizzical are you on crack? or deaf? please tell me you knw that the ca18 isnt a skyline motor..

  • @Omgturboooo you dumb ass... that was a sarcastic question....

  • @MrFizzical youre the dumb ass being that you didnt ask a question to begin with...

  • its very similar to the sr20det

  • @tTacoman7 i think you will find the only simularity is that is a 4 cylider nissan engine. there very different morotrs to sr20det

  • can u explain why there r so many different mix of cars? (s13 front 180sx back)? and wat is ps13 and rps13(how r they different to normal s13

  • Comment removed

  • @mattxhand lol really....you think its a S12? hahahahahahaha.......

  • @Nicksemianiw s13 coupe with silvia front end :)

  • @akuma147 If only it were in North America, but clearly the steering wheel is on the right hand side I.E JDM so no IT'S a JDM Nissan Silvia S13. p.s they are in japan so they don't have really have a s13 coupe. The s13 in japan only in a coupe. If it were the hatch it would be a 180sx, if its a 180sx with a s13 front end then its a sileighty. There are the rare Silvia S13's over there with the 180/240sx front end but I believe that's just a swap for them since that was for North America only

  • @Nicksemianiw sorry i failed to notice that the steering wheel was on the right side ..

  • @akuma147

    S13's ARE Silvias, dude.

  • @Shrewmy yeah i know lol but in the states they are 240s :P who ever doesn't know its a silvia is stupid haha

  • @mattxhand

    s14?

  • @mattxhand nope, S13.

  • @mattxhand its a s13

  • @mattxhand What a retard

  • Sick!

  • that thing must have some turbo lag dose it not ??????????

  • dumb man seriously just out of curiousity umm isnt a 240sx supposed to be a drift car i mean if you really want that to be a time attack or track car thats kinda dumb u should of bought a dsm if thats the sittuation no point of modifing a drift car when you only need about 200 to 400 horespower like on jdm's

  • @chicagodrifters silly drifter s-chassis can be used for anything ur little heart desire. i prefer drifting them but anything works for the great s-chassis.

  • @chicagodrifters For a start it's a s13 not some american crap 240sx, and even if it was a sx it would 180sx... Fuck americans think everything is theirs

  • @mushypeanut let me tell u this u cant always say ''fuck americans everytime a problem like this occurs alright cause if u think about it americans have some of the most illest and flushed cars out there check out hella flush or fatlace for instance most of there cars meet my liking and one day they might meet urs to and im from chicago and i know what it is like to actually have that feeling of success as shown in this 240sx but im just trying to prove that most 240sx's are drift cars !

  • @chicagodrifters it's not a 240sx, it's a s13.

  • @mushypeanut same shit dude and americans could have gotten it imported from japan anyway or it can have the conversion done

  • @chicagodrifters WOW man, ur stupid give it up the guy has a point it is a silvia not a 240sx ur giving Americans a bad name. Get off the hellaflush nuts sack, u don't know shit about the stance game homeslice

  • @s13guypr87 what ever man but ive seen lots of stance just saying and i know a load about it

  • how much tq?

  • that turbo looks like my lawn mower rim ( huge turbo:) )

  • Check out silviaworld

  • @UrLame889 wow that impressive for a stock bottom end usually from what i hear the pistons dont last more than 350 hp ... go the ca!!

  • @UrLame889 step down to a gt42 alot of the top 4s use it seems to be a good turbo to use

  • Hey, nice nica car first of all, but I had a few questions; 1. Where did you fit the AFM? Standard place is before the turbo, but yours seem to be somewhere else. 2. Where did you get that heatshield from? It looks great. Thanks!

  • awesome!

    nissan-s13.de

    check my website ;)

  • lol @ 700hp

    Search for this

    "Mobnes nissan 200sx s13 Dyno day video 577whp 649hp new engine ca18det "

It sounds twice as mean and definately has more go than this.. and it only made 570 which is still amazing!! No way this is anymore that 500

  • quick question, how much does the CA18DET put down stock, and the KA24?

  • @UrLame889 not to mention did you calculate your headers to? makes all to difference.

  • sorry meant to thumbs up you, shot for the translation

  • Hi.

I have a ca18 not stroked and it made

    627Whp on E85 and 2,7bar with a Sc6162sp. Botting out the charger.

Next time i hit the dyno will be with a Gt4294r and pumping over 3bar+.

But first i have to drive a nice 402m.

  • theres too much space left, and 2 cylinders at least.

  • You dont know what fuel they are using, what turbo ( although looks like a hks gt3040/3540) cam etc.

Also a GT47 isnt going to be near efficient on a CA :/ step down a bit and you'll be suprised ;)

  • Maybe they could be calculating the drivetrain friction for engine power?

  • any idea what hes saying there at the end kneeling down next to the car? translations welcome :)

  • "I stick these two fingers up my ass all the time"

  • fuck that 4 banger is a beast!

  • 700hp from a CA18DET... nice.

  • sounds like its been tuned pretty sweet to me.

  • ca's are terrible there all ways going to be in the shadow of an sr...dont tell me you never heard of bottem end trouble from ca's

  • No I am always reading how rev happy and robust they are. Not to mention cheap in comparison to an sr.

  • I wonder what rpm was hit there.

  • Sick.... =D

  • sounds like a honda

  • 700 hp from a 1.8 are you serious?

  • Pretty much a skyline motor minus to cylinders Iron engine blocks ftw.

  • Its not a skyline engine at all, doesnt even have 6 cylinders, skylines are RB, this is CA

  • I mistype it but Isaid CA's are like skyline motors minus 2 cylinders there both iron block motors, I think the KA24 is iron also.

Theres not one car in history that doesn't have it's fair share of problems.

  • except a 22r :)

  • yes is is

  • he does not mean that; The Nissan RB Engine is derived from the 4 cylinder Nissan CA engine. i don't know if it is a fact or a rumour, i just know the word go's around.

  • it ain't a rumour ;)

  • The rb's are based off this motor.

  • i thought it was the other way round??

  • Actually you may be right but regardless. The point is valid.

  • Yeah because it's vitally important that you flat shift when the car is strapped down to a dynometer..

  • Hello I am getting a 200sx (ca18det) here in argentina and wanted to know how much hp the stock tranny would take... Because I know the engine is awsome but wanted to know about tranny upgrading. Since I plan to drift and drag with high hp... thanks and nice run..

  • i am running stock manual with 344rwkw

  • What turbo and how much boost?!

I didnt realize how great CAs were; theyre always in the shadow of the SR20.

  • imo, CA18's > SR20, more robust engine i recon, and very rev happy :D

  • that's an odd sounding ca :O

  • how much psi can a ca18 take daily?

  • thats an x and y question.

  • what would the variables be?

  • what turbo it is, cause a T25 at 15 PSI is not pushing the same as a GT2871R at 10psi see what I mean? Also tuning and how the engine is built up.

  • ok got ya. i still got hella 2 learn.

    thanks for the knowledge

  • well for example you can run 12-13 psi on the stock turbo with a fmic and bolt on, and with a T25G you can do around 15-16 and with a S14 GT28R around 18psi and thats limited to the turbo cause then they just get too hot and blow hot air

  • @Nicksemianiw Hey mate whats ya turbo set up?

  • @coolfool206 that much power.... like 25psi maybe more

  • @coolfool206 3 psi max, then it will break!! GO SR20

  • LOL @ the japanese dude doing the victory sign

  • Damn

  • Wow Ive done 3 CAs in now pushing 350hp they normally last about a year of my abuse-like to see how long this holds together,

SRs the way but I do miss the CA rev tho....

  • I know the guy that tunned it, yes he is a master tunner, he goes by the name of "Paddy and yes 700hp is posible in this baby rb of a motor,

  • still running standard coilpacks by the looks of it, lowere gear ratios too?

  • guys theyre japanese they can do anything

  • fucking LOL...ROFFL!!!

  • when could a gt3542 make 780-800hp in the engine?

  • Your pretty fucking stupid mate, do you even own a CA? Listen to the Cams in the cunt, also notice how he even did that run in 5th gear, and hear how fast it ramped up. These engines are basically RB's with 2 cyl cut off. People in Japan have even pulled 1000hp at the fly out of these, only last for a few runs but hey it still gets em a good pass on the quarter,

People as ignorant as you are just jealous, dont have the money to build a decent car themselves.

    Get fucked twit.

  • @LiLMackaELi6 he didnt run it in 5th gear cuz dynos are measured in 4th gear where its usually nuteral 1:1 ratio so it gives a more acurate reading

  • @somerandomaussie your right about the 4th gear runs but this was a 5th gear run forsure....

  • @somerandomaussie Sure they're ment to run in 4th gear, but this was ran in 5th gear. running it in 5th gear could also explain why the readouts are saying its got so much power, because if you run a car in 5th you will get higher HP and less torque, you run it in 3rd you will get less HP and more torque. but none the less this this car makes alot of power.

  • Comment removed

  • @LiLMackaELi6 i agree with wat you are saying. its basically an RB with 2 cylinders cut off. but you can also change the block to a 6 cylinder, if you really wanted to. and it will pretty much be the same. even tho the CA is 1.8 liter and the RB is i believe a 2.8 liter. the CA is basically a 1.8 liter RB.

  • @Turbo2craze

    ^^this guy hahahaha

    lol are you serious bro?

That has to be the most ridiculous statement ive ever heard.

If your knowledge of engines was stored in a bank account,

    you would be in overdraft.

  • @Turbo2craze The RB engines come in 4 sizes :) 2.0 which were in the R32 GTST, 2.5 which were in the R33GTSt, 2.6 which all GTR skyline apart from the R35 have, and the RB30 is an engine that a r31 skyline has and a VL commodore here in Australia also use them :) But yeh the RB engine was based on the CA, so she is a pretty good engine ^^ Just getting a bit old, but thats not a problem :)

  • @Turbo2craze

your a fkn idiot... how do u expect to put a ca18 head on an rb bottom end? 2.8litre rb u say? Unless your talking abt the 400r your an idiot go play on ur pushy

  • check out mobnes s13 with ca18det from sweden.. makes 705 whp without nos.. all boost.. fucking retarded idiot.

  • Too bad no engine details and no clearly visible graph

  • Are you sure its Whp?

In Japan they most talk engine power.

  • what kind of pulsar? Do you have a website where i can find your car?

  • nice........... im doing similar atm with a Trust TD06 on a ca18det in a pulsar, lol

  • Nice. Im doing sort of the the same with my Exa. Its running a T61 but im building the new engine rite now.

  • its a true monster and comes on boost very quick for a ca with that size of turbo is it on nos??

  • there is no nos on that car. turbo is a

  • turbo is a HKS GT3542 with a bigger exhaust housing. while i lived in japan, garage pady(these guys) built my CA as well. Plus, with their custom intake manifold the boost builds very fast. They made one for me as well. Very pricey tho.

  • crazeds13, are you sure it was due to intake manifold? Could drop me a picture of yours?

    P.S. If it's GT3542, it can't push 700whp imo

  • did you ever end up getting pictures of the garage paddy intake manifold or talk with that fellow some more?

  • garage pady must be ca gurus then...the performance is oustanding for a non nos ca huge power with non lag..
