  • Hauntingly beautiful. The Janowski arrangement is so atmospheric and wonderful. Beautifully sung by Mr. Peerce.

  • A touching and beautiful piece. Thank you for posting, dear Edmund.

  • @SuperLuckydream Thank you very much, my friend. Yes, it is a very lovely and touching song!

  • Youtube should not accept commercials. It is really pain to see their commercial on top all the time.

  • @OTWdk I agree. I would gladly pay something to keep all mine clean, but they won't have it. They keep appearing, and I fear it will get worse.

  • Such a haunting and beautiful melody. What a voice. What a wide range from baritone up to first tenor with different timbres every three notes. Richard Tucker, his brother in law, I think, had a timeless voice, where even at sixty, still sounded just as good as he did thirty years earlier. That is very hard to do as an opera singer. Thank you for posting this most Holy selection. I see that Streisand does a version of it up here. Richard Tucker sings Kol Nidre. Neil Diamond does it too.

  • @HandwhistlerBen Thank you. Yes, Peerce and Tucker were wonderful tenors, no doubt it. I have Tucker's Kol Nidre posted, actually. It's one of my most popular videos. He was every bit as great a cantor as he was opera tenor.

  • Very very beautiful

  • How very beautiful, thank you so much for sharing.

  • @SogniAzzurri Es un placer! (Y yo comparto su entusiasmo por las distintas lenguas europeas!)

  • Reverent, beautiful singer from one who grew up in the tradition. It was inevitable that he would move into opera. Thank you, Edmund, for this straightforward unexaggerated rendition.

  • 5 *****

  • I have only been to one Jewish service in my life, and that was at the Spanish Synagogue on Central Park West, NYC. Knowing nothing whatever about the liturgy, it was nevertheless a pretty unforgettable sacral experience through music.

This is beautiful. Peerce, of course, performs it with complete understanding.

  • Very beautiful prayer. Thank you for posting, Edmund.

  • My pleasure. One of my favorites. So short, simple, elegant and moving.

  • Very movingly sung. Peerce is, of course, to the manor born.

  • ....or perhaps to the Shul born:)
