  • Parkour is the most efficient way of movement (flips or not). Freerunning is just extra fancy stuff thrown in between.

  • @kingman766 Parkour is the practice of trespassing obstacles with ease. Tricks are from free running, as far as I know.

  • @Primape92 Both are variations of quadrupedal movement which is a great full body exercise for strength, endurance, and coordination.

  • for that excercise at 0:48, you can use a chair with arms as well. Works great ^_^ i suggest before attempting that you get stronger by lifting two 10-20 pound weights and doing 20 cycles. Should help you get in shape.

  • free running is just getting from point A to point B with whatever it takes...no one said you had to do a bunch of showy flips to accomplish that. Parkour involves more tricks.

    Actually it's the complete opposite. Parkour is the art of moving through your environment as swiftly and effectively as possible using only the human body (Point A to point B). Freerunning is named with the word free because of the freedom it includes, rather than getting through it as swiftly and as fast as possible, which is parkour.

  • I was surprised when I watched this and found I can do all of the beginner and intermediate exercises. The advanced ones are still a bit beyond me.

    @sospiro1209 Its actually not too bad. If you feel yourself start to slip, it is only a couple of feet to fall to the ground if you are afraid for your twins' safety. :P

  • Tried the cat balance at 5:44. No go. Screwed up my wrists for a few days. I can do it okay when I'm in a more upright (plank) postion and don't slide/stretch. I can stretch it out when not on a rail though. Must be wrist positioning

  • you are absolutely wrong. if you want to read some articles about why you should go all the way down, google pistol power by steve cotter. come to think of it, read any article about pistols and you will learn why to go all the way down.

  • Sorry betty, you are wrong. You do not fuck up your knees by going past 90. If the load is too heavy for you to go past 90 then it is too heavy for you. Making your body weight an acceptable load is deirable.

    Get off your high horse - stop being a hater. You are just looking for attention.

  • It's not about "building muscle" it is about being better at performance.

    Pistols past 90 are done in many sports without negative repercussions. Look at swing dancing, for example, where dancers will dip down low with a pistol frequently.

    You will not end up destroying your knees. By not going past 90 you will not stress the hamstrings which means you will become quad dominant and create overuse and muscle balance injuries.

    Only follow Betty's advice if you want to destroy your knees.

  • going past 90 does not always screw up your knees. it did for me for a while cuz i didnt have enough muscle so i ended up getting RSI around my knees i had to build up my thigh muscles before i could go down past 90 for the extra exercise its a gradual thing and only going 90 and holding it builds more muscle because its less pressure on the legs wen u go past 90 degrees and come straight back up if u stay at 90 and hold it its more of a work out.

  • there are no flips in parkour, thats free running

  • actually there are some flips for combining running or other things to precise jumps like u run then wall run then flip then land on a higher ground
