  • lol The whole dinner scene was among the most awkward 'meeting the new bf/bg' movie scenes I've ever seen.. lol

  • Actually the girlfriend portrayal was spot on!!! I could see a spoiled upper class only child acting just like Max.... Let's face it Americans for the most part are spoiled, and this is coming from an American.

  • ALARAM COMPANY :)

  • no way... they had plasma monitor in 1980s?

  • @kimbobrand7 >>> The entire movie spans over 2 decades. 80s where it all begins and goes into 90s.

  • @r2d2s2e2 90s for plasma is still pretty surprising

  • This movie sucks

  • @RogerSands1 go die ...

  • @ZAIN4FU

    ok : )

  • no one does that in America!! they are never on first name basis unless they are well acquainted... and especially with parents!! rubbish...

  • @ialwaysforgetmyid2 SPOILERS - I agree, the white girlfriend in this really was a cartoon. It would have been much more realistic and meaningful if they portrayed her as a nice person, and it didn't work out because Gogol felt guilty at moving away from his heritage.

  • @TokyoSpike I think she was a realistic portrayal, some people are like that. But more importantly she's meant to show the clumsiness of having to bridge two worlds.

  • @ialwaysforgetmyid2 they're always trying to vulgarize and barbarize american society and culture. we have our faults- sure -but it's never as base as they like to make it seem. i would never address my gf's parents by their 1st names; not unless it was absolutely insisted upon. rubbish, is right.

  • @BigOldMrKnish yeah i know i agree. im half paki half american and i know its not that bad. they kinda portray americans as really clueless about other ppls cultures whch sometimes is true but not always. i like each portray each other by exaggerating their faults

  • @ialwaysforgetmyid2 lmao no one in america says rubbish either ....

  • @ialwaysforgetmyid2 ..hey relax ..its just a movie..even hollywood makes fun of Indian culture and people..even we feel humiliated watching that..

  • @ialwaysforgetmyid2 I know right - you could see the shock reaction on Ashima's face when Max used her 1st name. Talk about disrespectful.

  • HIs girlfriend gets on my nerves. I want to fight her!

  • @serrato32 why? she's done nothing untoward.

  • Thankssss
