I wonder how long before people connect the fact Tony wrote "This Ain't No Love Song" that Trace Adkins has out now. Interesting how many think the singers write their own songs while great writers are content to have their music shared.
the original writer/musician for a song is always better in my opinion. it holds a more sincere tone. i havent heard the mcgraw version of this, and I dont care if I ever do, this one's perfect. Tony lane also wrote "a better rain" for george strait, and tony's version is better.
wow this guy is my hero for writing this song..holy shit. what an amazing song writter. i must say that i do that tim and faith singing it better but he did amazing
You like Tim and Faith version better? So your the one? I realize it's just an opinion but dear God I got to say that it's a horrible opinion. No hard feelings
a horrible opinion,I have great hearing when it comes to music ,my mother played piano many years in church, which is where i learned about great music.
I disagree, but I am a Tim and Faith fan and he may have written this or co-wrote this, but I don't care for his style. he cannot sing. don't argue with me about this. I have never heard anyone else sing this except Tim and Faith. so it is only logical that I would feel this way.
Now, you should know better than to instruct someone to not argue. :) But I too had heard Tim and Faith sing his song before he sang it. But I think he sings a truer lyric than the polished Tim and Faith. But you can think what you want and I'll be right. :)
I am sorry for saying don't argue,my bad. maybe it is suppose to be sung like he has a hangover, because that is how it sounds. I don't mean Tim and Faith are more polished,I am just more use to them singing it. if you listen to this version long enough,it kinda grows on you.
I know Tony.. he may very well have a hangover, he prefers Gin. However, he is a great singer, his style is his own.. I have seen countless writers around Nashville try to copy Tony's writing and singing style.. There is only one Tony Lane.. I can assure you that he doesn't care if you like his voice or not...
I am sure he is still laughing all the way to the bank from this huge Tim and Faith cut.
I was Tony's friend and guitar player in the old days in Dallas. I've worked with many people in my life and Tony is one of the best singers I've ever known. Those of you that don't get it remind me of the people who put down Dylan for not being a "singer". Tony has more soul and sincerity than 99% of the singers in Nashville and I'd rather listen to him than all the Garth Brookes clones in Tennessee. Your comments say more about you than about Tony.
I suppose you don't like Bob Dillon either. Wow I can't believe that so many people have been institutionalized by the slick crap on radio to the degree that they have lost their ability to recognize soul and heart not to mention interpretation of a song. Kenny G. fan right? lol! No offense . G.
everyone should check out the new tony lane facebook fan page, search for "tony lane" songwriter fan page
