Folk metal is shallow trend-music that senses a void of white cultural identity and fills it with racist cartoons. Rhythmically the music isn't far removed from a combination of 80s metal and ska, but it's colored with period instrumentation, and that's good enough for our generation's sordid love affair with irony.
I love this song so much! The atmosphere created in The Mantle is so thick and foggy, I can almost smell the fresh air and the aroma of crushed pine needles and burning campfires in the wilderness.
long time passed and the girl who i love leave me like i write 1 year ago i gotta do 3 things
1.listen this song
2.drink
3.drink again
oh life how cruel are you? how? raining outside listening this cold atmosphere what can i do nothing whisper in my ears she were but a ghost in my arms now i understand this song more good
im sry but i have to ask where u get these pictures for the videos cos they are awesome, do you type something into google or something. I HAVE TO KNOW!!!!
@darkmatter616 S'hard to put Agalloch in one specific genre. However, it has influences on post metal, folk, black, and depressed subcore. However, personally I prefer to call their style as one of their albums: Pale Folklore
I die in your arms and yet I live within, like the quiet sounds of the forest under the sun, I awaken and die again!!!!!!! Awaiting the moon it touches me with the thoughts of you and the dream, together we cross time and space and yet we awaken alone, still oceans to cross, I would do that and more, to touch you and live within your skin! Just to LOVE, YOU!
I die in your arms and yet I live within, like the quiet sounds of the forest under the sun, I awaken and die again!!!!!!! Awaiting the moon, to let me dream and awaken to you!
I can not understand people like you. Instead of supporting a band, you want to steel their songs. And i guess, you dislike mainstream bands? If you would think, just only for a second, you would recognize that not-mainstream music can only exist if their listeners support them by buying their albums and songs. Its really hard work to create such breathtaking songs, so please stop downloading and start to think. We've lost too many good bands, because of downloads....
@Phantasm09 Ha, maybe those ten "idiots" are actually geniuses in disguise. This and falling snow are my dish washing songs, along with a nice glass of some sort of libation. Yes it's true! It's such a romantic sort of metal.(Never know when someone is going to drop by and eat my gourmet cooking off my very clean plates...)
fuck!!! how can you guys listen to this song after a girl dumps you??, i love this song dont get me wrong, but its very dark, its gonna take ur sadnees depper into the abyss. Id listen to some Death, its got balls but its not doom like
@Blackmetal9000 i hear you, if iam sad, i need some death, or some classic jazz, if iam pissed, id love some of this or just about anything that has balls, or anything that the writer felt the song when he/she wrote it. neways this song kicks ass and the name is awesome
@alonescool same for me.. I'd probably kill myself.. so I use to listen to some death, or pagan black metal.. it has to have energy, energy, that I've lost due to the situation. my favourite for that times is Slavigrom - Vizie O Konci, it had allways helped me get trough the worst phase. BTW drinking is bullshit.. problems can swim, impossible to drown them in alcohol without drowning yourself..
Agalloch, Opeth, Tool, In Flames -- love 'em all. By the way if you haven't listened to Opeth I'd suggest starting with Damnation since it's a softer sound that you can ramp up from.
iv listend to 3 of these guys songs, and all 3 i fell in love with, these guys are offically in my top bands of all time with Opeth and Tool. i must listen to every song by them, every single one is amazing in its own right.
@keithblabbermouth Yeah I live a very nihilistic, naturalistic, brutal, blackmetal life here in the northern woods of minnesota. This music fits beautifully with the natural beauty of the outdoors here.
i love u all cause u all love this....@f4ftantum at least you have a sense of humor. life is cruel sometimes i know but there are gorgeous people out there and i dont mean outwardly and you will come upon them and they will quietly bless you with their presence...peace
I'm from the states, and i frequently went to Canada to see her... i stayed in an old farm house when i was there.. id walk to her Job alone everyday to see her and this song would be playing on my mp3 player on the way, as the thick fog would blanket the scenery... it was surreal. She broke up with me, and i would listen to this song everyday, thinking of her, and moments like i just stated above..
@aNightmaresRequiem its bad to hear that ı hope she turn back you abaut me ı do the same ıam going to see her ı went to colombia soon and ı work ı work and stay there to much ı hope my my story is not gonna be same like yours ı know the she never leave me ı already do too many mistakes but ıcant stop thinking in that that scary and sorry for my bad english :D
@f4ftantum How about creating some music on your own of the pain that love might cause? Just think about it... The vastness of the universe, the fragility of our planet, of our echo-system, the fragility of the human body... And all that our minds are capable of creating; it doens't have to be anything else but introverted... In fact, I'm going to start composing a new song right now, I've got the right feeling. Thanks :P
@f4ftantum Well, um... I haven't really written a song with that inspiration, but I have a bunch of other songs, plus I am recording some new stuff nowdays. It's not in the style of Agalloch, but I like it anyway. :)
Dude, the winds here are gusting over 60 mph. I plow the drifts off the road and half an hour later (or less) they are filled in completely. This has been a good winter!
this is music is magic. especially the "like snowfall"part. shame that agalloch records aren't easy to get in holland =(. i'd love to have all their records.
I bought "Ashes against the grain" by Agalloch a little over a year ago and it is my favorite cd by far, I have never been able to replace it. Where do you get these amazing photos. This and Hawthorne Passage are probably my favorite songs by them, can say Ive heard a bad one though. I'd have to give these guys the best American Band Award.
I love this band and opeth too...anything with mystery in its' atmosphere...also dead can dance, although not metal they are intriguingly progressive as well and very cool to trip out to...
