you would have to put NO outlet knob on, and it will "handle" it in small amounts in my opinion, that being said, it is VERY hard on the juicer, and I do not recommend juicing it and/or juicing large amounts of it.
Have another question about the samson I have put things like tomatoes and cabbage in my juicer to crush. Cabbage was making sauerkraut and it just backs up, why is this? I feed slowly, any idea what I am doing wrong?
i do find the masticating juicers are easier on the ears, and less scary low RPM and that the fruit tends to bang about in the centrifugal juicers which can be quite scary
Whats the difference between the Kuvings multipurpose masticating juicer , the omega or the Samson?
I want to buy a multi purpose juicer. So far there is no video on the kuvings multi-function juicer to the omego 8006. will appreciate if you can show the difference.
The Kuvings Multifunction Juicer (not the silent juicer) is very similiar to the Samson Juicer. We do not offer the Kuving Multifunction Juicer due to the short warranty and recommend the Samson instead. Check my videos that compare the Omega vs Samson to see the differences.
I was sold on the Omega 8004, but after reading some reviews I'm worried about the auger scraping against the metal screen and causing shredded plastic to fall into the juice. I started looking at the Samson because of the stainless steel insert, but I'm still very unsure of which to choose.
Do you know anything about the plastic shavings issue with the Omega?
John-I've bought, I think, 3 juicers from you over the years. My favorite by far is the O-8003. I used it again last night for supper, just so love the way it does those leafy greens. I travel with work with either the Omega O2 or the L'Equip Mini and I sure miss that green ability! Thank you so much for your educational, and entertaining, videos, and for your site.
Define "better"? by better do you mean yield? Its tough to beat centrifugal ejection style juicers when juicing carrots. Auger machines will produce less yield (and more pulp in the juice) than the centrifugal ejection style juicers when juicing carrots. If better means higher nutrient quality- then these machines are "better" due to lower RPM and oxidation. That being said the centrifugal ejection style juicers are not as efficient at juicing leafy greens, where these machines shine.
My favorite juice recipe is Beets, Kale, Radishes.. which I normally use 2 juicers to make (a centrifuge type for the beets/radishes and a masticating hand powered one for the kale). I'm looking to buy a single juicer that can do both.
Since I only need a juicer for this specific juice mix, would the omega-8006 the best choice? (The green star elite GS-5000, is a bit pricey, but does that juice these ingredients better?)
Can you do the same comparison with these two juicers but with wheat grass instead of carrots? I'm debating which one is better for juicing wheat grass.
That is on the "to do" list. Based on prior experience, the Samson is more effective at juicing wheatgrass alone. How much? I never tested it specifically, but would guess 10-20% more. Why? The samson has an adjustment when the pulp comes out to keep it in there longer to get produce more "rung" out. Thats also another part to clean.
Hello John I have noticed the new 8006 has a very strong chemical smell that has not gone away even after using it 2 dozen times, it smells like real nasty plastic or something, have you noticed this in new machines or should i be calling omega?
Some manufacturers say this. Do I believe it? I dunno. Some say the "pesticides" are locked in the fiber, and the fiber is ejected and not put into the juice. I do reccomend if you choose to juice non organic, to wash your produce well with a good produce cleaner. Although I reccomend you GROW your own produce! Then you know its not sprayed!
THANK YOU! These comparison demos are incredibly helpful to me in finding the right juicer for me. I want a Norwalk but can't imagine paying that much!
You know what I'd like to see John? I'd like to see a demo of you putting the pulp from these (and other) juicers, into the Norwalk to see how much MORE juice the Norwalk extracts. (Any hydraulic juicer, actually. If not a Norwalk, how about the Welles Juice Press?) This would tell me if the hydraulic juicers are worth the money.
Please check my video on the Welles Press. it works like the Norwalk without the high price tag. It did extract more juice from the juicer! Check the video to find out mroe.
would the samson juice handle sugar cane if it had the hard outer bit shaved off?

loosen or remove the outlet knob on the juicer. You also need to keep the tamper in the chute to keep the mixture moving thru the machine.

Hi John:
According to this review, I may need a twin gear juicer. Which ones? and have you done any Comparisons or Reviews on them??
In the meantime, I will search your page...

Please check my videos for videos on the twin gear units, I prefer the Green Star Elite GSE-5000

will both of them juice AND extract oil? I can't seem to find an "oil extractor" attachment for the 8006.
00Mandingo00 9 months ago
No. They will not. Only the Samson with the Oil Press attachment will make oil from high oil content seeds.

The 8006 should be fine for that combination.
