  • We had this album as kids! Would be great to see video footage of it today!

  • I always wondered if the any of the shows exist on tape - anyone know?

  • Yea this was a great album. I started playing it a lot when i was in my early teens. I'm glad it's on youtube to relive the memories i have of me in front of the mirror with the broomstick (guitar) and the hairbrush (mic) - drenched in sweat, thanking and bowing to my imaginary audience.

  • Probably the best white funk/blues EVER! Edgar, Jerry, and Rick in their prime, with the best players behind them! I wore out 2 copies of this in vinyl.

  • funk be praised, it dont matter what color u r . when funk gets a hold of your ass , u been got. I love this album, brings back so many good memorys, including Frankie Croker, who does the intro.

  • Saw them a few times once in Favetteville NC at the bands prime..also played some of these songs in my band...when you listen you hear a little Sly in there but who came first..the horns and Edgars voice control..not to many years ago he was playing the Harley Rallys etc...anybody know anything now..about Edgar or any of them?

  • Great memories! My favorite all time horn band!!!!

  • This band kicked ass BIG style -such great feel and energy. Awesome! I was in a band called Supercharge that were driven by this!! Download the album its mighty.

Musicianship exemplary -Edgar Winter a colossus and very underrated-maybe the albino thing phased people a bit -but then again people are shit. Wonder how this would go now amongst the cloth eared masses (oops i'll get kicked on that one!)

  • edgar winter never got the credit he deserved as a musician

  • Get On Down Yeowww

  • From one of my favorite albums in the teen years. Unforgettable because of the joke about them being late to the Apollo... That was a great show, thanks for bringing back the memories...

  • Still Alive and well KICKS ASS! Edgar, Johnny, Rick Derringer! White Funk! EDGAR and Johnny Are REALLY WHITE ! Thanks for this post!

  • da 1st. concert i ever went 2 was white trash+UFO....sooo as an encore they played"frankenstein"soooo we walked outta there TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY! THAT WE SAY WHAT DA PHUK WAS THAT???!!!!NOBODY EVER HEARD AN AAAAAAARP3 syenthesizer!!!!!phukin wicked!!!

  • Yeah - awesome early funk!

  • sends chills listening alto only Edgar can....gp

  • Ya know every time we go down town to try to get those jive jobs they offer they always say, "black people can't be on time, now look at the white trash" Way too cool FOOL! Sax solo writes the book!!

  • This was the first funk song I ever grooved on!! I love the black people freaking on ED Ca, i can't even type after that, EDGAR WINTER when he walks on stage!

  • this is totally my song

  • Yeah, the apollo. you can hear all the black people laughing ..... but only for a few seconds.. that is... Then, a standing ovation.

  • I've loved this song forever. If you listen close starting at 1:06 or so, one of the horn players says DURING THE CLICK OFF, "What is this, Cool Fool?" and another answers, "Yeah, Cool Fool, brother!" I love it. lol!!

  • Now if that don't make ya shake yer Bootie you aint got one

  • yeah Bobby was my uncle i never had the chance to see him play but i hear many stories of how amazing he was!!

  • @143coolwhip Bobby Ramirez was your UNCLE? One of the greatest drummers to ever play....respect!

  • Like to hear Tower of Power do a cover of this.

I remember this album. I think it was pre Back to Oakland or around the same time

  • Great comment. That certainly would pay tribute to White Trash !

  • These boys were no joke...Real players...Fuckin Smokin' !

  • Amen my man!

  • I was in my pre-teens when I last heard this album...Thanks for posting! Great song.

  • The drummers name was Bobby Ramirez...killed in a bar fight trying to help out some friends who were involved in a brawl.

  • Anyone remember who the drummer was on this album? Was it Bobby Caldwell? Thanks.

  • Thanks for the post! Love this album! Any chance of getting you to post "Still Alive and Well", "Tobacco Road", or "Back In the USA"?
