I stood up for this guy once because someone was talking crap about him, but he, not knowing that my comment was a reply to someone who was saying negative things about him, saw my comment and thought it was directed towards him. He proceeded to block me so I couldn't explain his error and then began taking piss out of me when I couldn't say anything back. That kind of stopped from enjoying his drumming.

Only thing that makes me cringe about seeing this video on DrumTV is how some of the new people will show up talking all the Buddy Rich association stuff, when those of us who know are aware that Matt seriously covers Elvin, Tony Williams, Bonham and many others. Still when this showed up at another site a while back I thought it was my favorite Buddy Rich tribute not coming from a super famous drummer. I still think that. What Matt should be able to do in a couple of years is mind boggling.

I subscribe to msmithjazz videos, so I got this one back in February. When I first saw it I wished they would get Matt to do one of those Burnin For Buddy things since people talk about him on the Buddy Rich forum. He's up to it. That's for certain. This band he's with is just Ok. Matt supposedly does guest artist concerts now and this was described as a band director band in the Atlanta area where Matt was the special guest. I'd love to hear this with the first team.

This kid's playing is so good it's ridiculous. I saw somebody talk about Matt along- side that Dylan Elise kid, but I just like how this one just throws caution to the wind, but can play all these different styles AND is so fast. See kids you "can" do it both ways.
