@TheArchFan Dude, shut the fuck up. Atheists have every right to reject a pledge that rejects them. By saying "Under God" it goes against the 1st Amendment that says Congress shall make no law "respecting an establishment of religion nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof" . But I suppose anyone that argues with you is a preachy atheist.
@TheArchFan It's in the pledge of allegiance, but we don't have to accept it. If there's a coup and the new government puts "one nation under Silver Surfer" in the pledge, that means we should automatically respect it? Just because "under god" was put in the pledge, doesn't mean they had the right to. They defaced the pledge and we're supposed to respect that? Fuck you.
"Basically ... out of all the ridiculous religion stories which are greatly, wonderfully ridiculous — the silliest one I've ever heard is, 'Yeah ... there's this big giant universe and it's expanding, it's all gonna collapse on itself and we're all just here just 'cause ... just 'cause'. @Zakuma101 I think its wrong to say because this country is not made of christianity entirely. Not every person is cristian, and saying "under god" in the pledge or seeing it on money they use might offend them.It suggests most people i this country beleive in god, and people might think they have to practice the religion too.It makes us sound as if we,as a whole country, are cristian.Which is of course false. And then to get upset about it being removed from te pledge is just over dramatic.
original pledge up until June 14, 1954. I've always thought people should have the right to say, "Under God" if they wanted to, or not say it if they wanted.

@TheJeffmorgan You're taking what the Bible says as true. Prove it's true, or else your beliefs are just as silly as taking the Harry Potter books as the truth.
This nation was founded on Christian morals, HOWEVER we have a right to freedom of religion here. So if you think about it, removing "under God" is really fair.
We aren't a nation of only white, christian families, guys. We're a nation of different races, religions, and viewpoints. I'm sure most Christians wouldn't want to say "under Buddha" right? Imagine how uncomfortable non-Christians feel saying "under God" when they don't even believe in said God.
So what if they removed "Under God"? Not everyone is Christian. These other Christians should just realize that not everyone believes in the same Christian God.
@undertakerfreak1127 I find it ironic that you so adamantly speak out against big business, yet you applaud big business' decision to edit an official pledge for our country. Bro...if you want to edit out "Under God", petition for it. Thats how it was added in the first place.
@PropTheGanda That's not too bright, considering I think it was a great idea. Now, if business added "one nation, under Walmart," I might be more inclined to bash them.
Heres a quick story John. As soon as I was eleven I started to question the christianity. If I spoke out I would get a spanking and a god loves you from my parents. Im a athiest an my parents always threated me and spanked me and abused me but they say they are doing gods work. christianity is another form of profit for the US. In the words of george carlin " god loves you and he needs money" so I agree with this video and yet again another enlighting video. Thanks again John
@undertakerfreak1127 Yea, a man who was voted into office and that you should respect enough to not call stupid is stupid huh? Nbc should not have ommited a part of the song thats just as important as the rest of it. period.
Next step, have the dollar not say, In God we trust. I find it funny that the church and the state are supposed to be separate from each other and yet there's stuff like that. Also, it's separate from every church not just the catholic church. The united states, much like most countries, are secular. They should not favor any kind of religious belief. They can't confirm or deny that there is a god.
Amen, bro!!! If most Americans' insides were their outsides, the U.S. would be a third-world country. It's only a matter of time until the U.S. dollar collapses, reality sets in, and Americans' insides ***become*** their outsides.
I actually like that NBC removed "under God" it serves no purpose but to give christians the idea that America is a "christian nation." I personally think God can go fuck himself and his need to spread his word so he can boost his stupid ass ego is just pathetic. If he ever existed that is.
@LOCUSTHATER666 Do you realize if you knew what god really is that you just stated you can go f#ck yourself along with everyone and everything in existence. Its no wonder people in this society are going in circles with this kind of understanding, or lack of it.
@2Ttyz41O I said IF god himself existed but its pretty obvious that he's not real. Would you be in favor of a man that repeatedly destroyed entire cities and once destroyed the ENTIRE WORLD? i dont believe in the bible or any of that crap but the thought of someone like that is a pretty evil mother fucker from where i stand. If your in favor of that then there's something wrong with you but whatever I'm still entitled to my opinion.
@LOCUSTHATER666 This whole atheist movement is growing and growling with sensible individuals and those who are just angry for no other reason other to be angry. I would say certain religious movements started out like this. Keep your eyes open and don't let others do your thinking for you. Similar pitfalls religion have are set for those in atheism who don't do it.
@LOCUSTHATER666 Well I'm not in favor of another man telling me from only his intellectual point of view that there is nothing else in existence other than his laws of the universe as are presently taught in schools. A good portion of these kids today have been taught by people with similar views as you speak of and we seem to be getting deeper into the ground.Take a good look around with your eyes and ponder on whats really happening before you sleep tonight.Follow yourself B4 following others.
@LOCUSTHATER666 Honestly, I didn't mean you specifically when I wrote the 1st sentence of my last comment. I was referring to some things being taught in schools, and what is being spread as "truth" in a lot the media.
One time, in high school, my history teacher caught me omitting the "Under God" part from the pledge, and held me after class to ask why I would do that. I told him that I decided to be an Atheist. He had no idea what that was, so I explained it. He then gave me a week of detention for "Insubordination". I still refused to say it, though, which eventually led to a confrontation. I got an In-School suspension for three days, for insubordination again. I was pissed, and ended up dropping out.
Stupid Christians on that video keep saying that America is a Christian nation, or a nation for God. It really makes me angry that they claim they know this but the Treaty of Tripoli Article 11 begs a differ.
I wonder why there wasn't this much of an outcry of sacrelige in 1954 when the words "under god" were put in.
Or why fundamentalists christians aren't trying to get the Pledge abolished altogether, considering it was written by a Socialist to further a Socialist agenda.
I find it kind of interesting that you say golf is really boring, while I happen to find sports boring. I prefer video games. People say it rots my brain, yet I happen to have more better grade than most at my school. People say sports are good for exercise. If sports are boring, what makes them any better than normal exercises? Teamwork is also nonexistent at my school. If people say video games are for losers and sports are where is is at, screw them.
@undertakerfreak1127 *shakes head* Freak, it's called a fucking joke. But of course, it's understandable that you wouldn't get it. Good night (or afternoon for you).
Some Christians have accused atheists of crying too much about "under God" being in the pledge. Now that someone left it out it's the other way around. They've got God working overtime with a mop because he promised no more floods.
@Cybernator23 He's exaggerating. Perhaps it's like that where he's from, but around here, the teachers don't even care if the students stand up while it's played on the intercom.
Emphasizing Americans' faith in God today is redundant, if anything else. Al Quaeda? They like God. Taliban? They like God. And not only that, but the same Abrahamic desert god as Christianity. The Cold War's over. If anything, we're the godless ones now.
You saying you have a problem with golf, huh? J/K I find it boring myself. Anyway the main topic at hand. I don't live in America, I live New Zealand. And I kinda feel our country is in some what of a similar situation as America is with this whole "Under God" thing. When in truth it comes down to the Dollar and the higher ups. I can't comment to much on the NBC situation but I get the idea. I do hate how they force the whole "Under God" onto us all. BTW Great Charisma you had going. Later.
The words, 'Under God,' were not added until the 50s. Far, far from our nations founding. They are not a staple of our patriotism and our country is not a country ruled by religion. We have what is called Separation of Church and State. This is an example of Separation of Church and State. Why should you be surprised that words, biased to the side of a religion (when no religion belongs in governments) are removed when they haven't even been there for half of our country's span? Idiocy...
If that were the new pledge of allegiance, I wonder how many people's heads that would go over, much less those who would know what the word avarice means.
NBC's only "mistake" was apologizing for what they did. Apologizing for actually acknowledging the fact that we have separation of church and state.
I hate hearing stories like this. Because the hypersensitive patriots and hardcore bible-heads (most of which are the same people) go up in arms and scream about how America is losing its traditions, or that God will punish us for it. Like we're going to be doomed if we don't acknowledge Him, or we'll fail as a country. Screw that.
Thank you. That was very refreshing! Excellent rant.
The words "under God" weren't there originally and were only added in 1954 (as others have mentioned) supposedly to differentiate us from "godless Communism".
But as for "Under God"(and "indivisibly" I think as well), it is a tradition. You cannot offend the American "Religion" of Patriots, Christians and also Atheists that are with this arrangement of America with its ideas. Worse is to censor it away,
I think God may have taken part to have the USA as means spread more Christianity, and to the final end goal(Armageddon). But never would he choose to represent his government since Ancient Israel.
I hate it when you start your videos with your misleading presentation. IE, don't pretend that you're apposed to the fact that they removed "Under god" when this is just what you want...
Me and my dad go golfing and watch golf all the time. We're not rich, we're not criminals, we're not greedy. Me and my dad go golfing to spend time together since, to even keep a job, he has to work 4 to 5 days a week out of state so the only time he's home is on the weekends. If me and him aren't watching movies or playing video games, we're out on the golf course. I'll admit, it can be boring to watch but we enjoy playing it. Guess that makes me a sniveling greedy corporate bastard
@XanDrummerWolf Haha I also play golf and fully agree with you. I have come to realize that John is one of those guys critisizin things and makin assumptions about lots of things. He's one of those smart dumb persons
Actually, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that "in god we trust" is on our money...think about it, god isn't real, and our money is backed by nothing but empty faith.
"Under God" was placed in our Pledge of Allegiance in the 1950s as a way of demonstrating that anyone who pledges allegiance to our flag puts God above all else, as God should be. Now for you atheists out there, or anyone who doesn't believe in the God of Abraham, I will pray for you this night. For those that laugh at that, I'll pray extra intensely for you. Jesus is my Lord and Savior, & as for any Jew haters out there; read & study the New Testament of the Holy Bible.
I think instead of removing "Under God", It should be replaced instead. Saying it without the under god part makes reciting it seem off a bit. We could say One Nation Under Cash, lol.
@undertakerfreak1127 I'll stay subbed to you dude, but the religion/non-religion thing is already getting old. I like your rants and shizzle better, just saying.
it was added in the 1950's because of pressure from the emerging religious right. It's presence in pledges and on money violates the separation of church and state, it endorses a religion.
@N00bcrunch3r The Christian "God". in Judaism it's called YAHWEH and not really used, in Islam Allah. The dictionary definition is: The creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the Supreme Being.
If people have different definitions then they shouldn't call it God. That's why the religious claim Einstein's statements as such.
The fact that it even mentions a God implies a vague support over non-believers, who in all 3 Abrahamic traditions are worse than anyone else
The vague implication is only there if you make it there. As I said before, a god is a god, which has many different definitions. If it mentioned the name of a certain god, it would make sense to take out of the pledge of allegiance. But it is not that way.
@N00bcrunch3r Christian groups fought to have "God" put in the pledge, on money and the ten commandments in publicly owned places. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they weren't thinking about anything else.
"In God we trust" says plainly that there IS a "God", this is counter to the (non)beliefs of Atheists, Buddhists, Taoists, Hindus, etc... Not to mention the affront to actual Christians who follow the teachings of "Jesus", by linking currency with their deity.
Hinduists and Buddhists?? Some Buddhists are atheists, but all Hindus and most Buddhists in some sort of god, whether it is a pantheistic or polytheistic god(s). Besides, you can't please everybody. Put it in the allegiance, you'll piss off secularists. Take it out, and you will piss off most religious people. And since secularists are of the minority,of the more rational, and of the less extreme, wouldn't just be more convenient satisfy the sensitive faction?
@N00bcrunch3r Buddhism is an "atheist religion" (Sounds weird, i know!) As in, it doesn't define a god, like, "a being with absolute power and humanlike mind" or even "Beings of absolute power"... Taoists and Hinduists are polytheists and believe in many different gods...
@RSrunner88 Oh man. The separation of church and state died a long, long time ago. I get what ya mean. The right controls everything, and can get what they want just by using the word "God."
Free will of the US my ass. If anyone says that shit I just point to the selective service for that.
I don't see why they have to force it to kids either. Every day in the beginning of school and by Intermediate school I myself didn't say it anymore since I saw no point in it.
It is a hard thing to comprehend for people if all they are interested in are the pleasures of the 5 main senses. And when you basicly for want of a better word get drunk on these you leave yourself open to a certain blockage. Clearing this up and being a little open minded to the possibilities beyond the drunkeness of the five senses may expand your horizons.
In my highschool every classroom has to have a framed picture of the words "In God We Trust." And this is a PUBLIC school. This pisses me off SO much but I know protesting would be useless....

TheSpiralDownward 8 months ago
NBC's only "mistake" was apologizing for what they did. Apologizing for actually acknowledging the fact that we have separation of church and state.
I hate hearing stories like this. Because the hypersensitive patriots and hardcore bible-heads (most of which are the same people) go up in arms and scream about how America is losing its traditions, or that God will punish us for it. Like we're going to be doomed if we don't acknowledge Him, or we'll fail as a country. Screw that.
stlfatman 8 months ago
Thank you. That was very refreshing! Excellent rant.
The words "under God" weren't there originally and were only added in 1954 (as others have mentioned) supposedly to differentiate us from "godless Communism".

NBC did a dumb move. All there's too it.

Jesus is my Lord and Savior, & as for any Jew haters out there; read & study the New Testament of the Holy Bible.

it was added in the 1950's because of pressure from the emerging religious right. It's presence in pledges and on money violates the separation of church and state, it endorses a religion.
RSrunner88 8 months ago
@RSrunner88
But which religion? It does not specify which god.
N00bcrunch3r 8 months ago
@N00bcrunch3r The Christian "God". in Judaism it's called YAHWEH and not really used, in Islam Allah. The dictionary definition is: The creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the Supreme Being.
If people have different definitions then they shouldn't call it God. That's why the religious claim Einstein's statements as such.
The fact that it even mentions a God implies a vague support over non-believers, who in all 3 Abrahamic traditions are worse than anyone else
RSrunner88 8 months ago
@RSrunner88 Exactly. It's one more example of how the majority rules everything and the minority has no say. Anything. Religion, race, politics, etc.
undertakerfreak1127 8 months ago
@RSrunner88
The vague implication is only there if you make it there. As I said before, a god is a god, which has many different definitions. If it mentioned the name of a certain god, it would make sense to take out of the pledge of allegiance. But it is not that way.
N00bcrunch3r 8 months ago
@N00bcrunch3r Christian groups fought to have "God" put in the pledge, on money and the ten commandments in publicly owned places. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they weren't thinking about anything else.
"In God we trust" says plainly that there IS a "God", this is counter to the (non)beliefs of Atheists, Buddhists, Taoists, Hindus, etc... Not to mention the affront to actual Christians who follow the teachings of "Jesus", by linking currency with their deity.
RSrunner88 8 months ago
@RSrunner88
N00bcrunch3r 8 months ago
@N00bcrunch3r Buddhism is an "atheist religion" (Sounds weird, i know!) As in, it doesn't define a god, like, "a being with absolute power and humanlike mind" or even "Beings of absolute power"... Taoists and Hinduists are polytheists and believe in many different gods...
Terryracoon 8 months ago
@Terryracoon
Original Buddhism , yes! But in other forms like Mahayana Buddhism, Buddha IS god.
Some Hinduistic sects also believe in pantheism. Hell! Even some forms of Christianity believe in a pantheistic god (i.e. Christian Science)!
N00bcrunch3r 8 months ago

It is a hard thing to comprehend for people if all they are interested in are the pleasures of the 5 main senses. And when you basicly for want of a better word get drunk on these you leave yourself open to a certain blockage. Clearing this up and being a little open minded to the possibilities beyond the drunkeness of the five senses may expand your horizons.
