  • weres scottie

  • i wish this jordan on nba jaam onfire edition fuck the creator

  • Nope....bulls started wearing black shoes in the 89 playoffs

  • The entire game of basketball held its collective breath when Jordan stayed down after Ehlo's foul... Poor Larry Nance looks like he's asking himself "WTF???" after Jordan's last drive to the hoop for the And 1...LOL

  • Ehlo never had a chance against MJ!

  • How the fck do you lead the league in scoring AND steals AND should over 50%. I mean, really.

  • @uberathlete

You're the greatest basketball player of all time, that's how.

  • So much better than the 2nd greatest player ever. He really is the best to dominate any sport ever.

  • Wayne Gretzky, Michael Phelps, Muhammad Ali, Lance Armstrong, Tiger Woods, Jerry Rice and Usain Bolt might have a thing or two to say about that!

  • He's easily the most dominant and best athlete of all time. Jordan was comparably fast to Usain Bolt, not as fast. He was much more athletic than Muhammad Ali, Lance Armstrong, Tiger Woods, and Wayne Gretzky. Nd why did you bring up Rice, if there is one absolute physical specimen from the NFL it's T.O. he's not a better player, but a better athlete. You named all guys that are hyper athletic at one thing. Jordan has hops, speed, strenth, endurance, and agility.

  • Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever and arguably the greatest athlete ever but ur exageratting.Jordan was NO WHERE near Usain Bolts speed.Iverson and Rose are certainly faster. He was more athletic than Ali, Armstrong,Woods and Gretzky and no way is Jordan a better athlete than Lebron. Will Lebron achieve Jordans greatness? Prolly not but he is the greatest athlete the NBA has ever seen simply by his combo of hops, speed, quickness and one thing Jordan can't match...his power!

  • @chiladin Just curious here but who gives a shit about who is more athletic? Being a better BASKETBALL player is different than being a better athlete and I'll take a better player anyday. Nobody would ever call Larry Bird a physical speciman but I'll take him over Lebricks athleticism anyday of the week! Lebron may be a much better athlete but not close to Jordan as a basketball player, Give me Larry Bird or Dr J anyday at small forward. You guys can keep that better athlete crap.

  • 6.30 was SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah more athletic than anybody, there's no question about that !!!

  • After Game 1 Ron Harper proclaimed "Jordan would never get 50 on me". Needless to say, he was proven wrong!

  • anybody know what happen 2 his knee that he fell like that?

  • i guess this is where paul pierce got the idea during the finals when he pulled up lame lol

  • It's a no brainer MJ is more athletic then Kobe!

  • Especially the hang-time.

MJ still the only one "Air" by far.

  • wow at that one handed rebound.

  • Lol @ 5:00.

    Ehlo sucks! Ehlo sucks!!

  • to the poster who said larry bird...all due respect, but LARRY BIRD says jordan is better.

  • his last FG is a fade-away lay-up

  • a hog? He shot 60%. What the fuck more could you expect?

  • if I had a player who shot 60 percent and is in great health - Jordan back when the rest of the team is "meh" - aye I'd give it to Jordan. Even then, these were still considered his rookie years, Jordan later on understood the politics as well and became a HUGE team player (also on account to the Jordan Defense.

  • hahah wow dat dude gottah stop sayin "Good" for every shot

  • he didn't say "good" at 4:02

  • and he didn't say good at it 6:15 to the end

  • greatest of all time... and the defenders were harder than what they are noe...

  • Wow, I never saw this game before, it was a pleasure to watch. Thanks for putting this up!

  • OMG white guys used to play in the NBA???

  • Actually, I think more whites are in the NBA now due to the Europeans.

  • How good are they compared to the Americans?

  • yeah ur right there are more whites now but the white dudes back in the day were more more skilled

  • Wow, are you even serious? Larry Bird man. One of the all time best players.

  • nice

  • Wow this is before Jordan and the Bulls actually started to wear black shoes in the playoffs. Mindless fact, I know.

  • yeah they started wearing the black sneakers in the 89 playoffs

  • Jordan and Kobe are great players. Jordan by far is the better player and Kobe has a chance to go down as a top 5 player from his own era. Jordan should be compared to Shaq and Duncan who are the only leaders with multi-championships. Read my channel description. I guarantee you that it teaches you more about the game and the history of MJ and the history of Kobe.

  • dat rebound was sickkk

  • How many times do u see a replay of a defensive rebound? That goes to show how he perfected everything, he was so classy in every aspect..Truly the greatest

  • The shorts back then, were so SHORT. LOL.. I'm a girl and I wouldn't even were them.

  • haha, see if they wore those shorts now there'd be more female NBA fans.

  • HAHAHA lol... I'm a girl, but I would rather were the short the nba are wearing now LOL..

  • Oh really? You're just saying that. Admit it, those short shorts were sexay! hehe j/k.

I remember during the late 90s only Stockton was wearing those short shorts. It was a bit weird seeing that.

  • 6:13 was cool

  • its almost spooky to see some of the footage, on how he just knew, what to do and when. Best demonstration of situational awareness I have ever seen....

  • did Jordan have on the white and fire red III's or did he have on the white cements?

  • Kobe is 7 for 32 in game winning situations over the past 5 years. He's a choke job.

  • he had a great all around year this year 87-88 35ppg 8 reb 8 asts 3 steals 1.2 blocks mvp

  • that's 32.0 ppg, 8reb, 8ass, and it was 88-89'

  • Go watch the clip against the rockets (i think 44 points). That's the best one to display how MJ played defense. He was a spactacular defender. He flew to the ball at demon speeds, flew from nowhere to swat shots into the stands, and he ran people down destroying fast breaks. I don't think there's another non-7-footer in nba history you can say that about. Beyond that, he had his same famous Jordan-like intensity on every possession. No comparisson between his D and Kobe's.

  • Joe Tait is the best play by play ever.

  • 6:12 was damn cool

  • Funny, after this game Ron Harper swore that MJ wouldn't do it again in game 2... and he scored 55! LOL

  • 3:41.. the way he comes down from that rebound, he innovated eery piece of the game..

  • JorDAN JORDAN JORDAN

  • Hoops, I have an idea. Why don't you make a compilation of Jordans blocks. He was a super shotblocker.

  • Kobe can't touch jordan. Notice; there is no d in Bryant. Jordan was Defensive player of the year in 88 as well as the 1988 mvp.

  • no d in bryant? kobe has been on the NBA Defensive Team numerous times. I'm pretty sure he was on the first team this year too. While this might not be the highest defensive honor you can get, it sure shows he got "some d".

  • sure KB has got some D on him but lets put it into perspective. 87' season MJ achieved the first of 2 seasons in a row with 200+ steals and 100+ blocks..did he get defensive team honors? NO, hell he didnt even get second team..that goes to show how low the defensive level is today when players like KB are all about offense, and get very poor stats at the defensive end but still get nominated to the defensive teams

  • Fell awkwardly. I'm hoping that isn't what cause his knee problems with the Wizards...

  • wut happened to his knee

  • Yeah, I figured it out a little bit after I posted. Funk is great; I find this radio call to be great too, though. Thanks anyways.

  • 1. Jordan + 90 Bulls

    2. 85 Bears

    3. 80s Jordan

    4. Other successes

  • i love Micheal Jordan!..he is so cool!

  • Joe Tait was his best when he called Jordan games because you can tell he was frustrated with Jordan. He explains Jordan's dominance so well without saying that much. Quote "The ball is blocked by Nance and he put it in anyway. Jordan gets bumped, falling down and he put it in anyway." Jordan and Joe Tait unstoppable.

  • How about at 4:24 Joe tait says Jordan walked with the ball. He is pissed as hell.

  • 2nd quarter was a 20 point quarter. Almost unheard of in the playoffs.

  • this is Neil Funk's call isn't it?

  • No, that ain't Funk. Neil Funk's way better.

  • biller, you're an idiot, and I'm from Chicago.

  • Awesome video. You have the best player ever, Michael Jordan, being called by the best announcer ever, Joe Tait.

  • that was a nice ass block

  • awesome block

  • As a Chicago fan there is two huge parts of our sports history:

    1) 1985 Bears

    2) Michael Jordan

No matter what anyone says about the Cubs, Sox, or Blackhawks...those are it for us.

Of course the Bears are my team, and they still hold meaning to me even since 85...that's about it for us historically.

  • are you kidding biller? what about the sox winning the world series? that was a big day for our city. How bout Wrigley field baseballs oldest stadium. Bears went to the superbowl XLI devin hester even got a TD at the kickoff. He got 6 TD Returns last year I think He tied a record. but if you think thats it for Chicago Sports you aint watchin close enough. You need take your ass to lenscrafters

  • I don't qualify a one year wonder baseball team winning in a less than dominate manner huge for Chicago sports history. You need to check out lenscrafters first if you can't even read my post. I said HUGE PARTS not big days you idiot. How can you even compare Hester returning a TD in a super bowl that we lost to the 85 Bears.

You sound like a high school kid who just started watching sports a couple years ago.

Nothing that you mentioned comes even close to Jordan or the 85 Bears.

  • He is good defense player! The block is so crazy!

  • I want to see why Jordan got the defensive player of the year award. Please, hoops?

  • the 3.5(3.2?) steals per game at the beginning is a pretty indication.

  • I mean I want to see him lock someone up. I love seeing him play defense!!!!

  • Yeah, and while we're at it, lets get Magic and Bird in there (back permitting) and lets vote in Isiah on the condition he doesn't do any coaching.

  • hey guys, i have a crazy idea, let's all write-in MJ for the all-star game this year. i can't do it alone, if we all do it and spread the word, we could show the world our respect for the G.O.A.T. who's with me?!

  • Great block on Nance! And did you see how he was still the first one downcourt on the ensuing fast break?

  • dudde mj us great and hoopsencyclopedia ur the man...idk where u find this footage lol...great vidz

  • After this game Wilkens decided to go with Ron Harper on Jordan in Game 2. Inexplicably Harper immediately announced to the media that there was no way Jordan would score 50 on him in Game 2. Of course Jordan went on to have 55.

This series was the first Jordan won, and was the dawn of the Bulls evolution. Even though it was only the early stages of the run, you can make a strong case that Jordan was at his apex in this series.

  • michael was pretty good wasn't he?

  • Hoops, I would never doubt/question you when it comes to MJ, so I'm sure this is a Playoff game. It just seems weird because the Bulls aren't wearing their black Playoff shoes that they always wore and it also doesn't say "1988 NBA Playoffs" anywhere on the floor. Great video as always.

  • I think the black shoes/socks became 'playoff' gear for the Bulls 'officially' a little later. As for the floor not saying 1988 Playoffs - I have no clue! Good questions though! You did see the 'Game 1' statement in the beginning right?

  • Yes, I did see that. As I said, I would never question you about MJ. I just remember that the Bulls always wore white shoes during the regular season and then switched to black (all business) in the Playoffs. The black shoes in the Playoffs was later copied by the Sixers and many other teams in the league at the time. MJ was always the fashion trendsetter (and incredibly, still is to some degree) in addition to being the best and most spectacular player of all-time.

  • Yup, the Bulls started wearing the black shoes for the playoffs in 1989, the year of "The Shot". It was for team unity, and I believe Brad Sellers came up with the idea. Later, you started seeing other teams copy that.

Then, in the 1996 playoffs, the Bulls went with the black socks to go along with the black shoes. And again, other teams started copying that.

  • Never liked that. The black shoes dont go with the white uniform. The Bulls, were a trendsetter, specially MJ of course.

  • @Jmill32 yeap..black shoes came in 1991 playoffs

  • poor ehlo :(

  • To call this man anything less than the greatest player of ALL time is a fucking blasphemy. And you have video evidence of it right here.

  • Hey D, are you going to put this on mixmakers?

  • great job buddy, love your video, keep them coming

  • How cool is that one handed rebound at 3:48!

  • This might be your best one yet hoops. This game is ridiculous. The thing that probably stands out to me most watching the old games is MJ's energy level and ability to dominate the game on both ends. Its an old cliche to say "he is everywhere" but there is no other way to describe it. He could dominate a game defensively, not just his man, but the whole team. Unbelievable.

  • 2:23 was vicious

  • Did they stop the game for MJ when he went to the floor ?

  • Yes. Timeouts, commercials etc.

  • Thanks again Hoops. While watching those videos I now realize how MJ was dominant and how he changed the face of the game. Don't forget that the 80's were dominated by the centers and you could not won without a dominant big man in the middle.

And by the way the Lakers are 2-0 without Kobe, I dont think any Chicago Bulls lineup would have open the season 2-0 witouht MJ, not even the 72-10 team. So please stop comparing MJ with Kobe, 2 differents classes in my opinion.

  • he didnt dominate the 80's just in case u didnt know magic and bird and thomas where the ones who dominated the 80's mj dominated the 90's

  • Actually, MJ did dominate the 80s. Only problem was that his team stunk. Case in point: MJ was offensive and defensive player of the year in '87. Of course, he led the league in scoring many years before that year, while being one of the top in steals. So yes, MJ did dominate.

  • yah but see now we are talking about individual success , his team was weak during the 80's, so if thats the case then kobe has been the best in the league for around 7 years now, his level of game has only gone up every year and nobody in the nba gets close to him even tho his team sux, so kobe is the most dominant player of the new millenium right?cuz i really think so

  • No, Shaq held that title up until he left the Lakers.. I mean seriously, not trying to put you down or anything but before every game, especially the playoffs and the FINALS, all the focus and special previews was on Shaq... from the opposition, players, coaches, media, analysts... EVERYBODY.

Kobe was more of a side note who was good at taking over the 4th. So after that, he has been dominant, but in the playoffs, essentially a choker.

  • Kobes far from a choker bro hes the most clutch player in the game today...jordan had pippen and great roll players who knew their damn roll, who have the lakers got to help kobe, if kobe had the rockets cast he coulda made a run this year the way things played out,i dont c how not getting over the suns makes him a choker

  • wait i know what ur saying but cmon you cant tell me that kobe is better than mike, he shouldnt be in the same sentence as jordan

  • Jordan led the league in scoring and steals. Kobe only gives you one thing.

  • Thanks Hoops. This is the only b-ball I watch now. Mike is gone, Kobe is injured- so the rest of those new school guandetuats can go to hell.

  • Haha - that's great! What about Wade and LJ though?

  • Oh sorry... amidst all the empty hype, those are the next ambassadors of the game. What can I say- I'm a Jordan fiend and Kobe's the next best thing.

  • not go to hell man. they aint that bad.

  • oh mj! hoops good job

  • No one will ever be as great as mj, its just that simple. People forget how good he really was. People think that whats new is better, but its not. No one in our lifetime will see his likes again.

  • wow! so many drives! one of mj's best games i would say

  • Look at the speed of his spin on the first play. And the savage block on Nance at 2:35. I have this game, and it's a great pick to highlight. I can't wait for the next video, because that's one of the games I don't have (I think). Look at the distance he covers in the air on that catch at 4:35 -- just crazy. And that last shot is a classic -- the body control and hangtime are incredible.

  • At 4:35, he WAS flying!

  • Yes! It's flying motion! lol

  • Watched it again !! The slowmo is amazing..Jordan just keeps flying flying flying...unbelievable !!!!
