@tempusfugitangel Summerteeth is a terrible album. I am a humongous fan of all of their other work, but that album is just an over produced turd, with a vampant usage of annoying synthesizers. Their work in Uncle Tupelo and the album A.M are incredible. YHF (Yankee Hotel Foxtrot) is up there in the best albums of all time. The Whole Love is pretty good as well.

Saying ALL metal is shit is like saying ALL hip hop is shit or ALL rock n' roll music is shit. Uncle Tupelo and Wilco both owe a lot to punk music, specifically hardcore. And hardcore punk (especially noise punk like Black Flag) were greatly influenced by early metal bands like Black Sabbath. In a way, Wilco wouldn't exist without heavy metal.

Great to see the boys making an "official" video; a quaint concept for one such as Jeff Tweedy. I like the "bloated " atmospherics of the 8mm footage, in the vein of super-8, 70s style vintage record company outtakes. (In fact, Striratt and the others actually look kind of haggard!) The outtro section, as always, is very powerful: very I Am the Walrus, in pictures as well as sound, as they doubtless intended.
