you need to be able to control the ignition timing, of course you can't with a glog deal,, unless you play with the compression ratio which you can't change either while running ,,, definetelly that hot of exhaust is wrong,, free up the mufler some to relief the back pressure or got to spark ignition great job though,,,,,

@n4120p Glowing exhaust is normal under load / high RPMs...anyone who has run a performance engine on a dyno will just look at you weird if you say that to them.

I might be wrong, but this thing does not sound healthy to me.

I also believe that this glow plug ignition is responsible for a much too late ignition, so that fuel is still burning when ex. valve is already open hence the ex. manifold is glowing so fast. - No good at least for the valve.-

Nice engine though, just try a cdi ignition for the heck of it , i am sure the ex. manifold will glow if ever only at much higher revs. than.

timing,, if it has a way to time it.... is way too retarded. Advance the timing a bit... that will prevent the exhaust pipe from getting red hot.

the exhast is glowing, because it looks like he used a natural gas connect line as an exhast manafold!.. try CAST IRON, it wont glow..

no, it looks like a flex manifold intended for a saito 4 stroke. anyways, sweet engine... he probably mixed nitro 50/50 with gasoline/oil, i used to do it so i could run a glow plug in my large scale planes and get rid of the ignition system.

Most of the model engines that are 4 stroke use a glow plug... For this guy it simplifies everything.. no ignition system needed... look for 4cycle model RC engines.. on U tube.

Good point.. I missed that it was running on petrol... perhaps they are using the word petrol to mean fuel in general. It looks like they have a glow plug igniter hoocked up, but I guess that could be a spark plug..

No Idea for sure.. But it is a really cool engine.

UMM well ther is the bottom end of the engine and the piston dip's in the oil and keeps a small film of oil between the piston and the cylender

yeah i know my 2 stroke piston on my weed eater is small like the size of half a bottle of vix vapour rub and a little less diameter i love small enginges espesially 2 stroke there so easy to fix the 2 stroke weed eater ones and theres so many uses for them like rc cars and boats and lets not forget weed eating lol

When the exhaust glows red, it means you are running the engine WAY to lean. You will blow it up if you keep running it like that I assure you

if you were to build a 2 stroke you can make it with oil in the base you just need to add a supercharger... thats how a 2 stroke diesel works

if its like a four stroke nitro enginet he the crankshaft is empy and get it oil from oil blowing past the ring/s and would have a presure outlet somwhere on the cranksaft to releive presuure in the crankshaft (seeing as it a one cylinder) and oil into the fuel take
