Other than some minor changes to were the page is located everything worked. Just had to make sure I got the OTA version to get it working. Whats really cool about this is with setcpu I am running it downclocked while not in use and its really saving battery. When I need the boost I just crank up the speed. These chips in the g2 really overclocking insanely well. Wonders of modern engineering to be honest. Wish I could OC my pc 100%.

Alright so i tried this downloaded visionary and everything... folowed every step and then started visionary up and i start to temp root then after id get black screen and nothing would happen. ive waited a good 5 minutes and it wouldnt go back to the menu which is what it should do... what gives? and yeah i put on de bugging mode and all that. oh and i have 2.2.1 if that has anything to do with it??

It took me a few times, trial and error and retracing my steps over and over, but I finally got it! 1402mhz! WHOO! And to answer everyone who hasn't been able to find VISIONary anywhere, one word. "Google". google is your best friend. just type in "Visionary+ apk" and you'll find a bunch of other people who are way nerdier then I am who were able to find it long before I was. Good luck!

I'm confused. I have a G2 w/ CM6.1 on it. Rooted of course. But why wouldn't I just use SetCPU directly to control my CPU speed dynamically, why do I need to use scripts? Why scripts instead of just using the $3 setcpu program by itself?

@glitchsys You only need to use the scripts if you are temp rooted. If you have a permanent root you only have to install the kernel and you'll be overclocked permanently.

Alright ppl I just overclock my G2 n I noticed other ppl had the same problem as me so first I downloaded the newest binary then I renamed it then basically so I wouldnt take no risks I put the ko file in every possible file I could think of and all that seemed to work for me.

You should put a note in this that if anyone is doing this post 11/13 update They will need to do the following for this to work!

Download the NEW Binary (OTA 11/03): vision_oc-g9ab3677.ko

Once that is downloaded and placed onto the SD Card. Rename the film to "vision_oc.ko" Otherwise it when using gscript. It will not overclock the phone. Just a minor change! Then follow the rest of his tutorial.

I keep getting the vision_oc.ko error when trying to run norboot and ohshiittt. I downloaded the OTA 11/13 version as instructed and renamed it to vision_co.ko from the original file name. I placed it in the sd card from my computer and followed instructions as such. I did everything before hand correctly as I double and triple checked to make sure. Not sure what I'm doing wrong...

@thEZmonEE check your kernal if its the new one, make sure you downloaded the right one off the XDA website, yhou have to rename the vision_oc-swdjffer (doesnt look like that but yoll see what i mean) to vision_oc

then it works like a charm. the vcpoc script looks for vision_oc not vision_oc-sdfsdjlkfdf thats where it gets messed up

This is a good guide, but if you installed the OTA update, you must use a different binary file, with a different name. The original script is set to try and find vision-oc.ko so it will fail. Currently trying to find an updated script. Do you know where it is?

If I find it I'll update this post for you. I've found your videos very helpful.

If it doesn't over clock for you then look at your kernel.... How?

Click menu. After you click menu a pop up will pop up, It will say setting then click it.

After you click setting scroll down to About Phone then click it.

Scroll down to kernel version. If it says 2.6.32.17 then download ota 11/03 binary.

After you download you will see vision_oc-g9ab3677, rename the file to vision_oc.ko then put it to your sd card. When you done that try it again if it doesn't work, then redo.

1 - download OTA file... change name to vision_oc.ko

2 - upload it to sdcard folder

3 - run Gscript

4 - run cpoc, noreboot, (OC or ohshiit) what you want

So I played around with the OTA file but it still didn't work.. So I thought.. why don't I change the name of OTA file to the original vision_oc.ko file... soo thats what I did.. went back to the Gscript app.. did it over again.. and IT WORKED!! now my g2 is frozen at 1.4 ghz while I'm typing this..
