  • Janet reminds me of Jackie Evancho....no, not the way she sings or the way she looks but just in age. Jackie is a phenomenon too.

  • This clip was my first discovery of the Lennon Sisters. I was trying to find clips of Melodie D'Amour of the Ames Brothers and this came up for a suggestion. I have been a fan for a few months and cannot stop listening to them. The second clip was their Little Darlin'/Sing for Your Father... I hope I get to meet them someday!

  • @KendallWriter ...I've been searching for the rendition by the Ames Brothers too, to no avail.

  • @FlierFrank172 The Ames Brothers rendition is here on YouTube. The reply won't allow me to add the link, don't know why.

  • So lovely! So different from nowadays girls! Sweet and delicious. Thanks a lot. This video is adorable. Rockybrazil1

  • The most beautiful video I have ever seen.

  • Peggy is so adorably cute here that at about 1:21 her teeth actually sparkle

  • very nice and beautifull song , ....may be someone could improve the quality of sound..thx

  • I COULD LISTEN TO THE LENNON SISTERS 24/7 NON STOP. I REMEMBER THEIR DEBUT ON THE WELK SHOW. I GREW UP WITH THE LENNON SISTERS I AM THE SAME AGE AS JANET.I AM SO GLAD TO RELIVE MY YOUTH THROUGH YOU TUBE.THANK YOU SO MUCH.MR.WELK ALWAYS DANCE WITH JANET LENNON

  • That's DeeDee top center, the oldest. Peggy the right, born in 41, Kathy on the left, born in 43, and Janet, the youngest of the sisters born in 46. But she's fourth of twelve. But they had a little sister named Mary who tragically was hit by a car at age 16 months.BTW DeeDee was born in Dec of 39.

  • The Lemon sisters!

  • the most beautiful, breathtaking, sexy yet innocent but contagious smile and expressions are on Kathy's face at 1:06min mark. I 'feel in love" with a teenager from away before my time. That is to me, the cutest face ever.I have to say She is my favorite in this video :-)

  • How old are the now ? Are the still alive ?

  • @AndreaMimi1984 They are all still alive and doing well ! Dee Dee is now 71 ,Peggy is 70, Kathy is 68 and Janet is 65 !

  • Cool.

  • America when people looked wholesome.

  • Extremely musical and sweet. They are all great...Lennons, McGuires, Peasalls, Andrews....all different yet awesome in their own individual way. They are relying upon the music and communication unlike the hype and "flash and trash" of many modern acts.

  • are these live or they are just singing along with studio recordings???

  • @erminsconcepcion They were recorded earlier in the same day as they would have to had 4 mic's to record all 4 girls and it would block the camera view. Today's technology is much better, with omidirectional mikes, which tthey did not have back then.

  • algo retro jhonny laboriel

  • My favourite Lennon Sisters song. I keep coming back to it. And Melodie d'Amour sounds perfect, is clear, louder and with perfect images. And, of course, I love this song because it reminds me SMPM, in her 20's. She looked like tremendously with Peggy in this video. Old times good times

  • They were a melodie! I would love to have them serenade at my window.

  • I can't get enough of this adorable song. Just love these girls.

  • I have watched this video over and over and over again , I love the blending of the voices , and how pretty the faces are, for a few minutes I had a crush with all of them till I have seen the latter videos, its a good thing that unlike the time, I can always go back to the time that they were still young.......there you go! The feelings back again....

  • Almost Left to right-Kathy,DeeDee Peggy and Janet in the front !!!

  • OMG!!! I had a huge crush on Janet 52 years ago.......and I think I still do!!! It's time to go to Branson!!!

  • @1212ARTANIS

    Me Too

  • @1212ARTANIS - I was so enamored by Janet, as well. Now, as I watch these sisters more and more, I would have been happy with any of them thinking that I was interesting. All are so lovely.

  • IM DNT TIRED TO LISTEN .....SO NICE......

  • WOOOOOW! THEY MADE MY NICE CRYING.... SO BEAUTYFUL! AND INREDIBLE WONDERFUL VOCAL! BRAAAAAAAAAAVO!

    THX 4 VIDEO! V M!

  • What a talented group.... there is no finer era for melody and harmony then the 50's and early 60's... and they even play real instruments back in the day..... I once had a hand written picture postcard from Janet in 1957..... somewhere it got misplaced the last fews years... oh the memories.... thank you shirlgirlwhirl... you can srill see Lawrence Weld oon PBS

  • i remember this well i was 18 and just going in the army.i had a crush on peggy.this video brings back so many memories. thank you for making my day.

  • @azaz09095 I think everybody had a crush on Peggy,I did then and still do !!

  • lol!!

  • Wunnerful, wunnerful, wunnerful....

  • the third one on the top

  • the third one on the top

  • which one is peggy?

  • @Jnobiii She's on the far right.

  • I was 5 when this aired and, regarding the Lennons, I couldn't figure why the girl down the block (Janet Lennon) was singing with my three cousins who lived 150 miles away and who didn't even know her (that'd be the 3 older sisters). In those days I assumed that everybody you watched on TV was somebody you knew - even though the resemblence could be quite vague...otherwise (I figured) why would you watch? Amazing how centric you are when you're five. Anyway, what a superb group!

  • @ellesstee my folks grew up knowing them as well, still visit Billy every now and then

  • Happy Birthday Janet!!!!

  • their brother is a pretty cool guy

  • i like how the back three's heads all move kinda the same

  • Dianes the oldest, then Kathy, then Peggy, then Janet the baby, right? They were all pretty girls. I suppose they are all grandmothers now.

  • @Sheri451 Yes they are all Grandma's except Kathy ,who has no children. By the way Peg is the second oldest ,not Kathy. Peggy is just very petite !!

  • @fordman4444 Thank You for the information. I love watching them on Lawrence Welk.

  • before color TV!

  • Like it.....memories.

  • aww that was cute

  • Nope, these are American Lennons !!!

  • What a dream! Times four!

  • This is the best version of this song ever. Where can I buy it?

  • They're all lovely ladies but doesn't Dianne have the most gorgeous smile throughout this?

  • I take that back......they ALL have gorgeous smiles!!

  • Beautifully assured performance from these charming young ladies! Terrific song, and, Oh Boy!, the things still to come!!

  • I may have been born 3 decades later, but music such as this never fades. A shame it doesn't exist anymore:/

  • "This was before the Beatles"???

    On MAN - lol!

  • Lovely ;)

  • Beautiful song, isn't it?

That is where my web name come from.

  • Lennon Sisters are cute when they where little i love this song

  • And then they went from cute to BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • They most certainly did, boatracer. Every single one of them.

  • Sadly, you never see such sweetness in today's entertainment.

  • I second that.

  • this was so long ago!!!!

  • They were so cute!

  • This was before the Beatles?

  • Gosh, how I love the way Peggy (far right) sings and projects this sweet song with all her heart! My eternal teenage crush on her will never end. You're The Dreamiest, Peggy!

  • I had such a crush on Janet back in the 60's. This video reminded me of why. She's is just cuter than a button!!! 5 stars!

  • A lost art of singing, I remember hearing them singing on th L.W. show as a child..What a special amazing group they were. I LOVED hearing them sing. God has truly blessed them.. I wanna hear more!!!!!!

  • Thank you shirlgirlwhirl for posting this great clip. I grew up in Australia in the 1950's listening to the Andrew and McGuire Sisters and only saw the Lennon Sisters through your posting, in January 2009. I love the soft sliding four part harmonies possessed by these incredibly talented (now) ladies. I would have loved to have grown up listening to these girls... I guess that I have a lot of catching up to do.

  • Point taken,Didn't mean to degrade the Peasall sisters. I hope they do well!

  • 最高です〜いいアメリカの感じ!美人だし!歌旨いし、アップありがとう

  • I'm sorry, the Peasall Sisters are good but not in the same class as the Lennons.

  • They had a wonderful mom, nicknamed Sis. I knew the family well, went to same church, school and played at their house as a kid growing up in Venice, CA. Their mom was a great coach and supporter. Sad about how their dad was killed by a mentally deranged man in August, 1969. Their lovely mom passed away about three years ago in Branson, MO.

  • OH !!! Peggy with those dreamy eyes..

  • Peggy looks so hot here

  • @EHLOCALz Peggy looks hot everywhere

  • Comment removed

  • @EHLOCALz Even hotter is the sister standing behind the youngest one!!!

  • wow!! amazing indeed!! thank you for sharing this beautiful video!!

  • AMAZING!! :|

  • When my sister and I would sleep over our Grandparents house when we were little, they always watched The Larence Welk show. Donna and I loved when the Lennon Sisters would be on. They were so sweet and their harmonies so perfect. Thanks for the memories!

  • Ah, yes, I remember exactly the same thing when I was about 4 and 5. I was born in '52, and would stay overnite at "Gramma and Grampa's" and we would watch Lawrence Welk. I had a crush on Janet Lennon (the youngest sister). My grandmother always yearned to go on the Welk show and dance with L.W. Sweet ol' memories, from 50+ years ago!

  • i love this song

  • que bonito cantan...

  • Never tire of watching these lovely girls! Thanks for this!

  • Absolutely precious! Is it a guy thing or is it just me...does anyone else get choked up and emotional when these girls go into their bedazzling harmony? And those smiles! The Lennon Sisters are everything wonderful.

  • You're not alone, brother...

  • Absolutely amazing voices! I agree seetjohn you don't have to have raunch dress and dance to sing amazingly well! This is proof.

  • Angelic faces with voices to match! What a contrast to the raunchy images of today's female singers! Vaya Con Dios, Lennon Sisters!

  • The Lennon Sisters have always had a unique sound. I wonder who arranged their harmony parts. In later years when they wanted to sing more modern songs they should have realized that their appeal was in the harmonious sound they had cultivated. This is a good illustration of it.

  • Great singing!

  • Please find more of the old B & W videos of these talented and classy girls! There's no one like them anymore.

  • i love this video of the lennon sisters

  • i just love this song it is so cute

  • The best singing I have ever heard

  • The prettiest version I've heard. They're sweethearts.

  • Just listening to this brings me happily back to my childhood days. Thank you!
