Im trying to get dark drown with thick blonde highlights.. starting from like a honey color right now. How long & what volume would you suggest i use to get the blonde & should i use a toner? & also what volume for the dark brown? thank you!
Thanks for the Vids, they are awesome! I have a question, how do you know when looking at a client hair and know if the hair will pull red, orange, or whatever when you bleach it?
@DuTube74 The lighter you need to go or the more shades you need to lift, the higher peroxide you should use. Try not to stray more then 3 to 4 shades different from the natural hair color. Darker shades will pull more red and orange. lighter shaded will pull more orange and yellow.
You said if you get the hair light enough, toner is not needed. Does it mean toner can do the lifting? Or toner is just to tone even or down? Please help
@DuTube74 Usually I use toners when I want to get rid of unwanted gold or yellow and some clients don't want gold at all. If you leave bleach on long enough, many times it will lift to a pretty shade one its own. As soon as it looks like the inside of a banana..its good.
Hi I know I am bother you but I have anther question..I just admire your work so thats why i come to you for consultation. ok..now i have a client that wants a copper born all over color with blonde highlights...how long do i let the color sit before the bleach over take/making sure the color take as well???? thank you!!!!
@shinejenkins I would do the highlights first and use a lower volume peroxide 10-20. Then I would apply the all over color in between and let the whole thing sit for at least 30 minutes...no heat. Hope this helped:)
hi Tammy Excellent job on your hair highlights what a beautiful job.I was wondering if you could help me.I would like to go to my natural hair color which is a dark brown and right now (as it has been for 20 years now ) is black permanant hair color I buy from local drug store.Ive dyed it for so long this hair color I want to see some brown in it instead of dull black hair.is there anything I can do myself at home for this or have to go to Salon.thank u.photo in comment section
@alinakoludrovich1 Thank you. I would see if you could get the black to fade up a bit on its own. You could do some clarifying treatments. Your best bet would be to go to a salon and at least get a consultation. Go to a couple different places and get some opinions before you get anything done. You will either have to strip it with color remover or bleach. But there are variations in both of these processes...
This looks very good if I go to the hairsalon what should i tell the girl that I want because they always do them diff and how much will it cost me I have long hair
i have a question though, ive never highlighted my hair lighter before,
so i have medium/darker brown hair and want light brown/blonde (natural looking) highlights. I was just wondering if you could tell me how to do so..if possible.
@wellsk6 Thanks! Your best bet is have some "Carmel" highlights weaved in with foils. You will have to pre-lighten it with bleach (because your hair has been previously color treated), then I would tone it down to a light brown carmel color:)
@wellsk6 I hate to throw a blanket on this, but I would get a consultation from a Hairstylist in person, it won't cost you anything. Then you can get a better idea of what your up against:)
@CanonRebel100 You could go to 'Sally Beauty Supply' You don't even need a license to shop there. Toners are always opptional:) If you get it light enough you don't need a toner.
hello there i loooovveeee ur work... n i wold love to see the bob haircut that u leady has on the vdo how to do dobrown hair color with bondehighights...pleaaase///xoxox

@eirhnh94able This model I did here has a more "Redish" undertones on her base color. I also went with more "Gold" highlights. If You want to cut the red, use a more "Ashy" base color. You can tone the your highlights to a with a "Violet or blueish base toner" to get the orangy, gold out. Hope this helps... =)

is this partial or full highlights?
charmd87 5 months ago
@charmd87 This would be considered a partial. A full is when the hair is highlighted all the way down in the back of the hair to the neck as well:)

Did you cut her hair? I love that hair cut! I'm growing my hair out so I can have mine like that. My hair is way too short right now.
